New Xbox Holiday Bundle (kinda weak) :(

The new Microsoft Xbox Holiday Bundle is an odd choice. Basically starting I think in a week or so, all current Xbox's will get a copy of NCAA Football 2005 and Top Spin. While this is better than last years... it is basically 2 sports games. Kinda limited it down. Sure it is a $50 and $30... to me it is still kinda blah.

But that is the new bundle from the marketing geniues at Microsoft. So what happens if you are not a sports fan? Sucks to be you.

Top Spin makes sense, but NCAA really doesn't. Like Wario said, it might be Amped 2 since Amped is a Microsoft game. Something like that would make it better.

The actual X-box systems prepacked with the games are supposed to hit TRU around the end of the month(the 24th). I thought Microsoft was sending stores the NCAA/Top Spin 2-pack packages to be put in the X-boxes(like last year and the year before), and we weren't supposed to give out NCAA and Top Spin from our inventories already.

So what exactly *doesnt* make sense about packaging ncaa 2005 when college football just started?

Cool . . . I want to get Top Spin but have been waiting for lower prices . . . this should help bring it down.

$20 at Best Buy would mean $15 via GGC coupon.
So what exactly *doesnt* make sense about packaging ncaa 2005 when college football just started?
It just seems like Microsoft would want to try and better promote the games that they have made and that are exclusive to the Xbox like Top Spin. That way, it will show what the Xbox really has to offer over the other systems.

Well maybe they have to give more incentives to sell more xbox consoles in japan since it doesnt do too well from what i hear over there.

Damn I am going to pick up an XBOX but was waiting for a holiday bundle. This bundle is kind of disappointing. I guess they really don't have to include much since the system has been selling pretty well in the US.

This true. Game Rush receiving the same information as the orignal poster said. However, it says we will get it around when Halo 2 comes out.

thanks for posting this. i have been curious about what the holiday bundle would be because i plan on buying an xbox soon, but i have to say im very disappointed. i have never had any interest in sports games...

its better than nothing, though...

IMO they should pack Halo 2 in with the xbox for a price of $190. Halo 2 will probably be a system seller so why not make a package deal for a few bucks cheaper than an xbox and halo 2 seperately to help to make it an even better system seller?

Those luck ***** get that.

And does NCAA Football 2005 and Top Spin come in seperate game cases or the same?

Jesus why are you people complaining. IMO packaging a 50 dollar new football game and a 20-30 dollar game (and both are very good) with the xbox that comes with nothing as of now is a pretty good deal.

why would MS do that? halo 2 is going to sell them TONS of xboxes, this way, they would lose $10 from everyone who planned to buy the xbox and halo 2.. on the other hand, $10 off for the consumer would not make much difference, because if someone didn't plan on buying halo 2 and an xbox at the normal price ($200), then 10 bucks would make no difference what so ever... IMO, if thats what you wanted, buy the xbox bundle, and halo 2, then for $200 bucks you'd have the system, ncaa 2005, top spin, and halo 2. pretty nice deal.

well at least this means that I'll be able to pick up top spin for dirt cheap now. I'm sure that tons of people will trade it the moment they get it.

i got an xbox what isnt loading up half the freaking time. I might wait for these boxes to hit before taking it back to BB and getting a new system

If I didn't have an XBox already, I definitely wouldn't be convinced to get one based on this bundle. I don't like sports games in general and I really think Microsoft should've included something that people would want to see bundled with an Xbox... like Halo or Ninja Gaiden or something good

I would concur that MS should be bundling Halo 2 for this coming xmas season. I would almost buy another Xbox for some system link action.
Can't wait for the 2 pack to drop to like $10 next year, like the other 2 bundles.
Or maybe we can pick them up for a penny again at circuit city

Am I the only one who thinks that this is an awesome package. I mean maybe not everyone plays sports games, but the target market is 18-34 year old males, most of whom are sports fans. Couple that with the fact that they packed in two top notch games instead of two games that weren't selling really well (see last year) and I think you have a pretty darn good bundle. Maybe they should offer an alternative, but I think this thing will sell like crazy.

If I just bought an Xbox from walmart will they exchange it for the bundle? Does the bundle cost more?

hmm
my xbox just broke down a week ago so i might wait for this to come out to buy another. anyone knows someone will buy a broke xbox? i think i can be fixed but i'm too lazy to buy a hex-screwdriver to open it

I think it would have been better if they offered Gamer's Packs. Basically there could be a sports, action or family pack. That way different gamers can pick what pack they want. Eh, it is whatever though.

Dude2003 Just Ebay it. I see broken xbox's go for like 70 bucks. Just sell as is. People will buy it, even though it's broken.

Back to the topic. Is that pic fake, the one of the Halo 2 bundle. I'm looking into buyin' one. I'll wait prolly another month. Right before Halo 2 comes out.
