New XMB (XrossMediaBar) for real?
What can I say except that on my PC(which is all a console is is an overglorified PC)I can actually delete shit I don't want off my HDD.

The only way to do that on the PS3's HDD would be to possibly plug it into your PC using an external enclosure and go into the file system on the HDD(if at all accessible on a PC) and delete the shit you no longer want.

Although I'm sure Sony would have you re-download the crap as soon as you went to log into PSN with the newly modified HDD.
PS3 uses a proprietary file format so the PC can't read it.
What does any of this have to do with the Xbox 360?
Because Sony's probably looking to copy something from the 360 (again), and lots of us are happy with the current look and feel.

And @Cheapest, I thought that you could delete home--at least I heard about people claiming they did. I'd like to delete it myself, but I don't know how to get it back if they ever do anything I would actually want to use it for.

Every little thing in PS Home brought up a loading screen when I went to try it out. It's bad enough some of the games on the PS3 have intolerable load times, let alone some Sim-ish side program.

Now if you could take your online avatar and pick fights with other people hanging out in Home and get into fistfights or some sort of QTE stuff I might consider it useful. But it seemed realllllllly boooooring.

I know this is a little lame, but one reason I don't use home is because I can't make the avatar look like me at all. I had more luck making my avatar on the Wii. Then, there's also the issue that Home is just boring for me. I don't chat w/people over IM, so home is kind of pointless for me. If they make it like an MMO of some sort that had things to do, maybe I would care about it. I tried that Sodium 1 thing and I didn't like it at all. Too bad they can't connect it with Hustle Kings or some other game like that and have live action multiplayer.
Good. The XMB is just another thing the 360 dominates the PS3 at.
Umm...no. i love how clean and sleek the XMB is. Very nice. One of the few things I like better about the PS3 than the Xbox 360. I wish they would integrate PSN into it.
