It says pre-order because they sold out. They had them in stock yesterday but they ran out of it. I was going to do the deal but they say it's going to take 4-6 weeks. I'm just going to do woot now.
Edit: The pre-order thing I think you can click on for getting the new model. I wasn't wrong about them being sold out though.

yeah, i ordered two of them (for my wife and i) several days ago under that silly "super secret friends and family" thing.

they arrived the other day. both look brand new, and come with all of the standard accessories (they're new), just like retail. they also sport a 1 year warranty, so i went for it. other than the boxes stamped with "refurbished" on them, they're indistinguishable from retail units, both inside and out.
