Just recieved this email today:

We’re thrilled that you’ve made us your #1 online shopping destination for computers, components and all things electronic!
To welcome you to our Newegg family of over 11 million satisfied repeat customers, we’d like to present you with this welcome gift:

Newegg then sends you a $5 coupon linked to your account

Got the 10% off...not that hot when you have to pay 7% sales tax. Don't need any PC stuff in the near future, so this will likely go unused. Would have much preferred the 5 bucks in this situation to grab a cheap game for dirt cheap.

Newegg Bonus: $5 Off Your Next Purchase

Thats what my subject line says

I've bought a lot games from them and even more computer hardware. The only thing newegg ever emails me is advertisements.

For those who mayy not know. Go to your newegg accout and click on account settings on the left side. At the very bottom of the page there is a box the says "Sign me up for exclusive newsletter deals, sweepstakes, and 24-hour sales only available to subscribers ", cleck that box. If you're never getting coupons or sale ads this is probably the reason why.

Got one of these a long time ago ... have a feeling it's to spur sales for those who don't shop as much there or for those who are new.

You frequent buyers who are complaining, well, the truth is NewEgg doesn't need to do much to keep your loyalty so it wouldn't make sense to give coupons to you. (Yeah, there's the opposite argument that frequent shoppers should be rewarded for their loyalty but that doesn't seem to mean much anymore).

I've never bought anything at newegg until yesterday using the $5 coupon and it's actually the second code they have emailed me.

Mine is already selected and I never get coupons like this from Newegg. I've ordered a lot, so maybe they just don't like customer loyalty and are giving us the middle finger. I would of loved to get this coupon and pick up one of their sub $20 360 games for less :(

Ive spent thousands of dollars over the years with them, guess I didnt get one because I spent alot with them and been with them for along time hehe. They didnt have a reason to try and entice me to spend more cause they knew I would anyway.

Oh well, Id liked to have one to use on a cheap game.

Does newegg charge tax on their orders? (specifically in texas). I want to say they did earlier this year, but I just went through part of checkout using the $5 code and something, and tax hasn't shown up on the total yet..

Lucky blokes the lot of ya! No such email for me, been making a few sporatic orders here and there finding titles more reasonably priced than amazon. Finally snagged myself a copy of Castlevania: Judgement for 14. I hear it's lousy, but it's supposed to have good music and it's a castlevania title so thats usually enough for me.

Hey, at least it's better than the nothing I've gotten. Besides, buy something more expensive and it'll be worth more than the fiver.

I got a $5 off coupon as well. I don't shop there often(even though they have great prices and no tax for New Yorker's) due to Goozex. The last thing I bought was PVR. I found nothing that interest me. I'm waiting for newly added clearance game and hope something good come out before coupon expires.

I hate new egg's marketing dept. I missed the $5 coupon last year and I unsubscribed about 4 days ago. I got sick of the 4-6 emails per week from them.
