Newegg DS games sale (lots of square enix titles)
Why shouldn't they? They are actually very fun games. It is the same story every time, but JRPG stories don't vary much as it is. What matters is that the gameplay is solid and they're very easy to pick up and play for a few minutes (or a couple of hours).
Not saying Pokemon isn't great (I've owned a few and my daughter and I are making our way through White at the moment) just that they didn't resonate with me like other RPG type games. I just tend to lean a different way when it comes to Pokemon :)

So getting back to DQ, would people recommend it in general?
that's encouraging, i haven't played DQ MJ yet, now i am looking even more forward to it. i loved pokemon growing up and still play it
If you can get the guide for it cheaply then do so. There really aren't any huge secrets in the game but the synthesis charts are really, really handy to have next to you when you're playing.

As for the game, just capture and experiment away with synthesis. Every monster levels up fast enough to the early levels, and synthesizing is rather fun. There are a few intricacies involved but it makes sense especially if you skim a FAQ or two about it. Battles are also quite fun, especially since there are no random battles.

Nintendo power said that Giana sisters was indeed released in the USA, so what you guys are getting is a real US version, no need to worry.
For whatever reason, it appears to be only available from Newegg, and from Walmart.com (but not in stores). No idea why. Also, it only just came out in the US in November, from what I was reading. Very strange that it's not available directly from Amazon.
I don't know exactly when it came out, but Newegg definitely had them in stock in October. I seem to recall some sites posting a release date of sometime in February 2011, but it kept getting delayed. It's also available online at Kohls, Target, and Overstock. It was also available at CD Universe n October, but they're out of stock now.
