nhl 2005 or espn nhl 2k5?

2K5...turn up player checking and it's so much fun...you can just slaughter everybody on the ice..and fights (even though they arn't that fun on single player) come up all the time

They arent even close. 2k5 dominates eas crap in just about every way. I used to be a NHL fanboy. I played FULL seasons. playoffs, all of that. (so I invested a lot of time in it) There is NO way, I repeat NO WAY you can retain any sort of enjoyment out of NHL. By mid season you are BEGGING for a Defensive game. (1-0,etc) So, buy 2k5, you ll not regret it.

Yeah I agree with Jack Bauer up there, turn up the checking, this game is so good, I couldn't stand EA's crappy hockey after I played 2k5. And at 19.99 it just makes it even sweeter
Definitely get 2K5 over EA's game. EA may have ruled hockey in the 16 bit era, but Sega owns the ice now.
If by own, you mean Sega has the better game, then yes you are right. However I think EA purchased the rights to all the ice in NHL rinks last week for something like 300 trillion dollars, that might not be the exact figure however.

2k5 in a walk, unless of course you think ea will be "exclusivizing" the nhl, then you might as well brush up on your ea skills

Hmm, I don't remember Electronic Arts acquiring the rights to the NHL?...
