Ninety-Nine Nights Demo Up on Live

You guys give Dynasty Warriors far too much credit in the brain department -- N3 is no more or less intelligent than DW. If anything, it's a little deeper since there's more combos to use.

If this had co-op, I'd probably pick it up. I like the DW style of game, but I like it 10x more when I can sit there and play it with a friend. I haven't seen mention of co-op anywhere, so I'm acting under the assumption that N3 will be missing this particular feature.

just finished demo. Good stuff. It's different than the demo at E3 which was way more boring (probably because inphyy is not as fun and she was only lvl 2). Either way looks like a pretty solid game. I'm getting sick of that single level landscape though. This is the 3rd variation i've played of that troll mission.

Demo was OK, but the camera angles were terrible. Had to constantly adjust, and never was where i wanted it.
Racked up 3,400 kills. Was fun but with that camera, not a chance.

Godawful in every aspect, save maybe music. Although that got repetitive, too. It didn't look too bad, graphics-wise, on my TV, but that's all I'll say positive. What was the point of troops if they couldn't kill anything?

And the camera made me feel like I was in the front-mother-fuckin-row of a movie theater. The moves were fun to watch the first couple times. After that, they got pretty damn stale. I can't imagine playing the entire game if I got bored after the second 'batch' of enemies.

The demo was way above my expectations. It blows Dynasty Warriors outta the water. I'm actually contemplating picking this up for $45 after GGC.

The only things that bothered me a bit were the guy moved a bit slow and the camera was a bit wonky at times, but it's nothing too terrible.

One of the triggers is a dash sort of move.

Button mashing fun, but the camara and complete lack of save points makes this a pass for me. Same reason I ended up bailing on the Kingdom Under Fire games. Great for a while, but once you hit an hour long mission that gets really tough and die facing the last couple obstacles, only to have to completely restart - that's so infuriating to me that I'm not going to subject myself to the possibility...

I can see some problems with this game, but I don't get how people can complain about the camera. It's just fine....... I've seen plenty of worse cameras.......
I'll get it when I can finder under $30. I wonder if the Microsoft Retail site will have it soon. Just checked its not there.
Lately the retail site has been getting games after the fact, like two or three weeks after, in my experience.

I haven't used it in awhile though... you're right, I think I will wait to see if they get it.

I played the game this morning. I thought it was decent. I'll wait for a price drop. I liked how many models it could put on screen at once and it did look good in HD. I'm not the type to play thse type of hack and slash games, to me they get boring after a while. I also hated the camera.

Hadn't thought of that... If they have it available, then that's how I'll get it. Other than that, I don't think I'd pay more than $30ish.

Having never played any Dynasty Warriors game (I'm a freak, I know), I really enjoyed the N3 demo. I probably won't pick it up at full price, but I know I'll be playing it through eventually.

I didn't like the cam at first, but I got used to it eventually.

I'm hoping the final version cleans up a few things, soliders were doing victory cheers while a handful of goblins were still alive and hacking at them. They also don't appear to be very good at killing grunts, they just act as human shields for the commanders. I wouldn't be paying 60 for it but 40 and under and i'll pick it up.

Just played it, yeah it kills DW. Also considering the last Dw i played was psp... Killied 2,000+ before i died, pretty cool. Too bad its not a 2 player co-op.

And for the $40 or less crowd, Outpost.com has it for $39.99 with free shipping. Also Dead Rising $48.88

well I thought the game was pretty damn fun. Only beef I have really so far is that travel between parts could be faster. Horse would help.

As far as the gameplay goes, I don't know why people expected it to be anything other than what it is. Honestly i'd take this game over any stupid 3D Mario Platformer anyday.

because Q entertainment was involved and even though it isn't like their other games, it just doesn't live up to the quality I'd expect from them. After my first 2 playthroughs I was excited, but after the next ones I realized it's fun but it's kind of a mess.

it's totally random when you die, but the enemys are generally so easy. Then, when you occasionally run into one of those armored goblins that knows how to fight, it becomes obvious how messed up the game is--you can sit there attacking it constantly and barely get in a hit, but it can just attack you whenever it feels like it and nearly kill you, since you can't cancel your moves into blocking. Meanwhile, arrows randomly fly on to the screen and finish you off. Since you don't have an open view, you can't anticipate them and they finish the job that the unhittable goblins couldn't do. that's crap.

in short, it's a cheap as hell and not in the good way. and in a stupid Mario platformer, you know when you hit something it dies and you know when you die, it's your own fault and not poor design ;)

The only things that ever got anywhere close to killing me were those damned archers. And I think that's mostly cause they launched like 100 arrows at me at a time.

Coming from a huge DW freak, I wasn't really impressed with this. With the DW series, there's a modicum of strategy and tactics that come at the higher levels of playing it due to the varied arsenal of each character. With this game, I felt like I could beat it by just spinning the analog stick in random directions, and mashing the attack buttons into the floor. (Yes I know detractors of the DW series call it a mindless button masher as well, but it's MUCH more pronounced in this game to me)

Well I have the import and first some clarifications in case you'd been misinformed about the Asian version.
The big one, this is SUBTITLED and not for Chinese dialogue, but the Japanese. Whoever said it was in Chinese for dialogue hasn't heard Chinese. Second, so far I have noticed almost no bugs. I just finished Inphyy's mission and have seen no problems so far. The ONLY thing I'm wondering that people are bitching about, maybe not all achievements register? I know eNCHANT arM had this problem. I'm now on Myefee's adventure. Oh and just a word of warning, it doesn't seem like the save system builds. What I mean by this is I think each character needs a separate save file. I may be wrong but I just wrote over Inphyy's and don't seem to be able to reaccess all the missions.
I'll agree with the button masher comments but at least the dialogue sounds better than DW and probably has a better story although maybe the English translation and VA's Koei hires for DW are just shitty.
