Bought the game a few years back for $15 or so. I think that it's actually a pretty good looking GBA game--I thought it was fun but the controls were kind of difficult as I recall and the game was too hard. If they tuned the difficulty a bit I think it would have been much better.
The game is awesome. And, if I recall, there ARE 3 difficulty settings.

I just got a reply from GQD on the shipping box. They DO ship all GBA orders, even single game orders in a SHIPPING BOX if you order from their site. If you order through Amazon or others, they ship in a bubble mailer.

Good news as we can be assured they ship in a box if ordering from GQD site. Cool.

Here is the response:

Hello, thank you for taking the time to contact us. With all of our GBA orders purchased directly from www.gamequestdirect.com we do package them in boxes. The orders are packaged with an invoice and stuffing to help insure that they are not damaged during shipment. However, for items ordered off our secondary sites like Amazon.com and Ebay.com, etc... our orders are placed in bubble mailers. So we actually recommend that collector's purchase directly from our site so that they have the added security of a box and the option to select UPS as their carrier, who insures their package and condition of the item upon arrival.

Thank you for letting me assist you. Have a wonderful day.
Man...judging by responses, I'm gonna have to dig this game out and give it another try!
I was thinking the same thing...I was about to put mine up on my TL.

Just a heads up...I recently grabbed Metroid Fusion from them and it came in a bubble mailer. Amazingly the box came mint so it wasn't a big deal. I chose USPS shipping because it was a buck cheaper than UPS...so that may have had something to do with it.

I had never even heard of this game before I saw this thread. I can't stomach $30 for an old GBA game and I'm not too terribly concerned with it being complete. I was lucky enough to find a used cart-only copy at one of my local Gamestops for $8. I'm looking forward to checking it out tonight. thanks!
$7.99 used at EB/GS if you're lucky enough to find one.
Thanks for the link! There were two stores near my kid's summer day camp, so I went to both.

The first had it, in good non-bootleg condition. The second didn't, and it was probably the messiest GS I've ever been in. It was like a K-Mart.

How do you find pages for used stuff like that?

I knew I had seen it on EB's site before. I had to widen the search to "Ninja" before it showed up.

Thanks to the OP for reminding me about this game. I had looked for it before months ago at an EB that showed it in stock but I never found it. Went back and asked for it and it didn't look like they had it but the guy found it behind the counter. In mint condition. Box, instructions and all. You wouldn't expect the only copy for 100 miles to be complete but it was. :bouncy:

Incredible find! My GS throws out the boxes and manuals the minute they get them. What an awesome deal for $8.:applause:

Ninja Five-O is hands down one of the best GBA games. I say It's up there with Contra and Super C (the NES versions anyways).

Blashemy! This game isn't even ranked in the top 30 GBA games on Gamerankings.com. (It's average vote is a 7.7) Just because its "rare" doesn't make it the second coming people, calm down. People seem to get caught up in the hype wagon so damn easy on this site.

It can have an average score of 1 and it wouldn't matter a lick to me. The game is just really fun and well designed.

Most reviews I'm assuming because it was "Oh noez! This game is hard! I rather play easy games that I can breeze through! I'm giving this a thumbs down even though It's cool, because It's hard!"

If you play easy mode you'll not see the ending or beat the FINAL BOSS (you can practicing you skill on easy mode). You much play normal mode to see the final boss. For hard mode is the same as normal mode but the 60 seconds on the last stage is TOUCH..... You much practicing your Ninja Skills b4 you reach HARD mode... very funs funs game :)

And some people seem to get caught up in Gamerankings average scores... ;)

I of course completely disagree with the guy who thought this "looked bad" or whatever, but I also disagree about it being a great game.

I bought it when it first came out, and yeah, the concept is awesome. But I didn't think it was much fun, and it's really nothing like Bionic Commando. I personally would rent it first.

I wouldn't expect everyone to find this game equally as awesome. those who remember the days of 2D side scrollers on the NES, Snes, and Genesis will recognize that this is probably one of the best ones out there.

I completely disagree. I can think of all kinds of much better games. This is average, at best IMO. I think it's seriously overhyped, and should be rented before throwing down over $30.

If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have paid $5.

I didn't say it was the best game ever. I said "one of the best 2d side scrollers" as in, the old school games. jeez.

I know, and I'm saying I completely disagree, and think it's at very best average.

I want people to know not everyone thinks this game is great. I'd really advise a rental first.

okay, it seemed like you were talking about all games. Good luck to those people looking for a place to rent it. $7.99 at EB is the best bet (and really should be looked into before dropping $30 on a new copy, of course.)

As for the Bionic Commando comparisons, I would say it's more like a faster, smoother, and better version of Shinobi, but with a grappling hook.

Yeah, I thought Shinobi was a better comparison too, though I vastly prefer Revenge of Shinobi on the Genesis.

I'm not sure what you meant about me talking about all games or not. I think it's just average by 2D side scrolling stuff too (and I think 2D side scrolling stuff has a lot of the best games ever made :) )

$7.19 out the door at GS today, cart only. I don't think the manual and box were worth the additional $23, so I'll finally give this game a whirl soon.

Can someone tell me how to search for used availability around me? Using the link to the EB page says no results found (it doesn't list my stores and say 0, it says "Sorry, no results") so there's something wrong. :/

That means it just isn't within the proximity you chose. Try selecting 200 miles-- that'll bring up each store.
