Ninja Gaiden Sigma/Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

I have both. I'm clearing out games in my backlog, especially older ones. If NGS2 won't make any sense without the first, I'll keep and play the first. Otherwise, I'll probably unload it.
Neither game makes sense if you're concerned about the narrative. I'd go with Sigma 2.
This!
When the character's names are as creative as 'Volp the wolf', you know the story is all garbage. Play it for the action sequences, and shut down your brain first.

If you're a big fan of the DOA universe like me you will definitely want to play both to learn as much as you can about the world outside of the fighting games.

NGS games are great. NGS2 is just NGS1 with better graphics and more boobs. the story if i remember right wasn't connected if i remember right. if you only have time to play one of them, might as well go with NGS2.NGS1 was a great game and NGS2 was a disappointment because it didnt improve much upon NGS1.
