i was just wondering if ninja gaiden black is just an expansion of ninja gaiden. if so, does it include the original game?
Can the blood/gore be turned off in Ninja Gaiden Black? Is the game still really violent even without it?
I'm not sure if the blood/gore can be turned off, but even without it, Ninja Gaiden is still a very violent game. There are a lot of decapitations.

Ninja Gaiden Black is better than Ninja gaiden in almost every way, and yes it includes the original and hurricane packs, also the mission mode, i blieve 50 missions that are pretty clucking hard, only thing that makes the 1st one worth owning is the old ninja gaiden trilogy is unlockable and in black only the arcade version is unlockable, i rather have the trilogy but i dont want 2 ninja gaiden games
It's the same game, with uglier menus and horrendous box art.
yeah, that definitely makes Black the worse game. I totally agree 110% all the way. When I got the game, I didn't see the box. The store clerk put it right into the bag before I left the store. Then I went home and popped in the game, still without looking at the box. Then I saw the opening menu...my jaw dropped. Then I looked down at the box. Then I looked back at my cat and its head exploded and a ninja was eating a taco at my kitchen table.True story.

Hmmm.... what if they went with this box art?

I loved the Dead or Alive Ultimate U.S. cover. even more than the Japanese one.

Japanese cover:

The JPN version also had a Platinum Hits variant, although the game sold better on U.S. shores it was still considered one of the higher selling Xbox games in Japan (even if it didnt sell so great there).

And heres the stylish and kick ass U.S. cover:

no, it has the arcade game instead.

Is that game good? Was the NES game based on the arcade game? How do the two compare?

it's a side-scrolling beat em up like Final Fight. there's a two player simultaneous mode that's pretty fun. I prefer it to the NES games, but most people like the nes games better.

Knowing me, I'll probably like this beat-em-up better. I love the Streets of Rage series and TMNT: Turtles in Time.

Is the arcade game playable from the beginning? I ask because I'm getting NGBlack in the mail in a few days and I'd like to try the arcade game immediately.

Nope-- it's an unlockable. I think you have to play through the game on hard or find a Ninja Gaiden Arcade item in normal or easy and finish the game with it in your inventory.
