Nintendo 2DS Crimson Red Console - $40 Clearance at Toys R Us

Yeah I don't know why either. Stopped into Toys R Us in Concord, CA and saw the tag (I bought the last one). This is only for the launch console, not the ones with a pack-in game, so there likely aren't many left still floating around. Still, worth a try!

Someone tell me why I need this in addition to my N3DSXL... I nearly bought one of these 2DS yesterday but I couldn't justify a reason to own one.

Checked the stores around me today and found one with a single unit left in stock. Unfortunately, it was the blue one and it wasn't part of the clearance. Kind of dispapointed, but life goes on. Wish they would have had at least some games on clearance though.

Sterling, VA store has mariokart and Yokai 2ds bundles at full price.

The person there said they couldn't price match either to the lime green version's price in the ad above.

These are really old (the non-bundled ones) so it would be 9.2 or lower, probably substantially lower.

Mine came on 6.0, and it was a Mario Kart bundle that got price adjusted. If anything, they're likely to be that firmware or below.

FYI, the promo ends 4/30 according to the computer.

It doesn't come up as 39.98 until its rung up for sale. Just grabbed a red one.

Came as a code. Actually sold the code since I already have a cartridge. Ended up making my 2DS $24 out of pocket.

(I ended up trading the system to a local game store for $60 in credit since I ed up installing CFW and accidentally put it on the highest unhackable firmware.)

you can always get them refurbished from nintendo.com or their ebay store for $60+tax free shipping

they are usually in perfect condition

The 2DS also has much better wi-fi capabilities than the original 3DS. I bought the red 2DS two Black Fridays ago when it was $99 and came with the free matching pouch at Walmart, and I found it to be a great handheld system.
