So I've been looking around, and it seems that there really isnt a DS shortage (not yet at least). Many places are sold out, but on the other hand, many places are fully stocked. So heres what I'm gonna do. I'll buy you one and ship it to you at cost. Shipping will be 2-3 day priority mail, insured and trackable (7.70 flat rate box, .45 tracking, 3.20 insurance) = 11.35. This is only good to the U.S. and you must pay by paypal using U.S. currency, no conversions (conversions cost more). Limit one per person.

162.37 + 11.35 = 173.72 + (.3 + 2.9% paypal fees) =
Grand total -> 179.06. Tip as you please. Paypal address is [email protected]

I travel a lot, so I can hit a large number of best buys, especially in small towns that are likely to remain fully stocked. I get a $5 Best Buy gift card for every $150 spent with my Rewards Program Card, so If I do this on mass and clean out a lot of Best Buys, I can buy myself something fancy like a big screen tv or something with all those gift cards. I'll hit a Best Buy once a week or so with all the new orders.

Merry Christmas.

1 DS = 5 bucks right Big screen tv is what 1,000 + so your looking to do this 200 times . And dont BB have a limit of 2 per day or something like that. More power to you but I wouldnt think it would be worth the hassel of doing it and hoping that one of the systems dont get damage in shipment. I hate sending systems

That is cool of you not to rip anyone a new one, but don't forget to pad a little extra to take care of PayPal. I forgot what they charge. If you are doing a good deed no sense in losing money to PayPal.

You don't understand slidecage... him saying that actually helps to build his credibility. Someone offering to do this for a large number of people for no other reason that out of the kindness of thier hearts would raise a couple of red flags, and seem too good to be true.
He's laying all of his cards on the table right now, and being upfront and honest. He's going to benefit off of this too...

It's actually a very nice offer, and if I hadn't had already picked up my DS, I might have considered it.

Duh, I thought I looked it over well my bad.

If the volume is big enough it could easily be worth it. Even if its limit 2 its not that hard to get around and its not always enforced. It only takes a few minutes to get in and out of a best buy, and it only takes a few minutes to drop by the post office on my way to class in the morning. Thats $10 best buy credit in...not even an hour. A matter of minutes. 15-20 maybe.

Though I certainly am filing this under, "ideas that are so crazy, they just might work".

Trying to sell a DS on these forums for actual profit would be just plain crazy.

Feel free to post it on the main page as a CAG member special or something.

Actually, Best Buy is giving doubled Reward Zone Points on purchases of the DS, games, and accessories.

Perhaps I've mentioned this a few times?

So the reward value for purchasing a DS unit is $10. Even better if you use a credit card that also has some kind of kickback.

Also, don't forget the TRU coupon from the Sunday paper. It's good for a $10 gift card for any purchase $75 or over. The store I went to today had one at the register rather than taking them from customers, so the use was effectively unlimited. Since I picked up a bunch of $15 games knocked down to $10 by their other current promotion I had a $10 gift card to use on buying a DS today and received yet another card in the process. Plus, as I alway must throw in, another 4% for using my TRU Visa for another $5.60 off the DS cost.

By my calculations my DS is costing me about $120 after sales tax. Add this tot he two DS games I got for $15 and this has been an unusually bargain oriented launch. Launches are usually the one time I settle for SRP but not anymore!

no its cause i seen the same thing happen on another site back when the PS2 and xbox came out and those who trusted them never saw the items. Now im not saying that the OP would do the same thing, BUT the RED flag is Taking the risk of shipping for that small of a turnaround just seemed werid. Then again maybe i been ripped too many times to think there is someone nice enough to do this..
