Arcade/contra not at all interested, Castlevania..... only problem is price and where I need to play them.

I see no price on the contra or Castlevania, almost certain they won’t be $20.
 
I have a feeling those last 4 games will not include SOTN or GBA trilogy. It'll probably be Dracula X/Rondo, Bloodlines, the other GB game or Kid Dracula, and the Japanese arcade game.

 
Overall a great showcase. My only gripe was that I thought Slay the Spire would shadow drop today or a soon release date would be announced. Almost all of the games looked great to me. I also liked that they are having a sale on indie games as well now.

The most interesting thing though was that the majority of the games this time around were new games, games that aren't ports from another system. It seems like there is a sudden shift from porting the best of prior indie releases on PC/Consoles to now being the system where indies debut. This isn't surprising I guess since indies sell better on the Switch than any other platform. I expect more of this in future nindie showcases. Where there will be a sprinkle of ports that are amazing games, but the showcase is focused on new indie games.

First time Salt & Sanctuary has been on sale since coming to Switch. Even on PSN, it hasn’t been on sale since about a year ago. Definitely picking it up for $12!
 
I totally forgot about the nindies thing... finally watched it...

Blaster Master Zero 2.  Highlight of the show for me ... and available today for $9.99... cool.   I need to finish the first one... but eventually I'll buy this.

Cadence of Hyrule ... I wasn't very interested in Crypt of the Necrodancer so no too interested in this variant.  Still, amazing to see Nintendo open the door to their characters in an indie like this.

Cuphead was a nice surprise.  I'm casually interested but likely will pass this up unless my kids nag me or something.

Most everything else I'm not too interested in.

 
For those interested in Cuphead, it's been confirmed that a physical edition is coming. Apparently it will happen after all DLC has been released, so that it can be included.

  • Cadence of Hyrule – Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda: In the latest rhythmic action-adventure from Brace Yourself Games, you can enjoy the gameplay of Crypt of the NecroDancer in the setting of The Legend of Zelda series. As Link or Princess Zelda, players explore randomly generated overworld and dungeons on a quest to save Hyrule, and every beat of the 25 remixed Legend of Zelda tunes is a chance to move, attack, defend and more. From modern-looking Lynels to the Hyrulean Soldiers of old, players must master the instinctive movements of each pixel-art enemy and strategically outstep them in rhythmic combat using an arsenal of iconic items from The Legend of Zelda, as well as the spells and weapons from Crypt of the NecroDancer. The game is scheduled to launch this spring.
  • Cuphead: Studio MDHR brings its run-and-gun action game to Nintendo Switch. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, such as traditional hand-drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds and original jazz recordings. The game launches on Nintendo Switch on April 18.
  • Stranger Things 3: The Game: Play through and delve deeper into the events of Stranger Things 3 in a retro-style adventure game from BonusXP. Explore Hawkins, solve puzzles and team up with a friend in local co-op to battle the emerging evils of The Upside Down as one of twelve playable characters from the hit original series.   • Red Lantern: Timberline Studios, Inc., challenges players to survive the Alaskan tundra with a team of five sled dogs.   • Vlambeer Arcade with ULTRABUGS: Vlambeer Arcade is a collection of bite-sized games with a growing catalog that starts with ULTRABUGS, a fast-paced, high-score-centric game in which players pilot a ship to fight endless space bugs. I am STOKED for this, what a surprise. Day once purchase easily. Hopefully this does well as it could open up the door even more to Nintendo working with indie companies down the road.

I just bought the 1st blaster master and see there’s DLC that lets you play as shovel knight, Shantae, and others. Do you have it? I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth buying and adds anything to the game or if it’s mostly just aesthetic.

I have two of the DLC's as the were free for a limited time. I missed one of them. I need to play more with the side characters, but the overall game is the same but it's tweaked for each character which makes replaying it somewhat fresh. Pretty much buy the DLC if you love the specific character... but otherwise you can skip it.

I bought it yesterday on this sale and I really like it. The controls are very tight, but I also have modded my Switch Joy Con to the shell with the traditional D-Pad and I am loving it. If only I had it for Hollow Knight, I may have beaten it a LOT faster than I did... might even go back and beat the Circus Boss that I kept getting destroyed by!

I would say that its difficulty is similar to one of the Dark Souls games. It feels much like them. If you didn't get into them, I wouldn't try Salt & Sanctuary.

My cup head time on an Xbox was great and I would suggest it. Yes it gets pretty hard, but not in an unfair way. Learn the patterns and thankfully the restarting a boss is quick

Art style and music are great.

It's essentially a Link to the Past clone, but with a Princess Bride-style caveat to the story where a grandfather is telling the story of what's happening to his granddaughter.

I think I'll play Blossom Tales to show off what's cool about that game.

I vote for blossom tales. Btw, when you do these streams, I don’t see a link or embedded video in your post. I’m on CAG on my phone 99% of the time so maybe it’s because it’s CAG mobile? All I see is your text saying the stream is live, and a whole bunch of blank space.

Okay thanks for the suggestion. I might get Shovel knight or Shantae. The other two I don’t really care about.
 
So basically if you have means to code and money to put it on the eShop, you're by default considered a Nindie? How about reserving that term for curated games? That way we can have Steam Greenlight garbage AND indies hand picked by Nintendo. I miss the good ol days on 3ds wherein an indie on the eShop meant you were very very likely to get a quality Nintendo-like experience.

Great sales on the eShop right now! I finally got Salt and Sanctuary on Switch and am considering downloading a few others such as Blossom Tales and Night in the Woods.

Nindies are curated by Nintendo. Why do you think otherwise? Did you not watch that Showcase or see the games in the Nindies sale? Everything there is of a respectable quality, not the random direct mobile ports that are $5 and will have 90% off sales any give day of the week.

I think the dude was trolling or being super sarcastic... I mean 3DS eshop and DSiWare have a mountain of generic low quality games. Switch is getting to be on par with quality indie games as any other platform. Plus much of what was great on 3DS eshop has been or is being ported to the Switch.

 
That Blosom Tales stream was pretty solid.  I skipped around in it just to get a feel for the game but that looks like something I'd enjoy.  Thanks for picking something lesser known.

And a couple weeks ago the same was said about Ittle Dew 2 (yet another Zelda Lite)...it did not dew it for me. Not bad though. "Must own"? No way. Blossom Tales needs to have a far steeper discount than 30% IMO as it's a small unknown indie released in 2017 and with so much competition. Guess it's banking on being a Nintendo darling in order to make sales. Maybe I'll try once it's dirt cheap (if that ever happens)
