I do like switching ships, the original configuration is a lot of fun, but there are other weapon combos that are really fun as well. I have 3 other ships and 14 guns total. You can go on the starlink website or youtube and check out what each of the ships can do, there are enemies that you can kill faster depending on weapon type. Everything is interchangeable so you can put different wings and different guns with different ships to modify them.

I dont think amazon does the 20% off anymore, but I may be wrong on that.

Amazon discontinued the 20% off preorders a while ago (not sure the exact date). The current best deals for preorders are Best Buy (if you still have GCU) or Walmart.com (a lot of their preorders have discounts). Amazon will price match most of the Walmart preorders that are discounted too.

This is how I've started to see things. As much as I want good deals, I've noticed I often wait so long that I don't care by the time that deal comes along (if it ever does).

I rarely jump on things at full price but waiting years for a couple of dollars that I would spend on on a cup of coffee without thinking twice? No thanks. Not to criticize those who feel like holding out for deals, I just don't do it anymore.

Yea, the only reason to buy these vouchers is for the stuff that never goes on sale digitally, like Pokémon, Smash, and possibly Mario Maker. Buy eShop gift cards on sale, then get gold points for the vouchers. I can't see any reasons beyond that.

Not sure if mentioned but Transcribed is free if you own one of the qualifying titles in the store page listing from the same publisher. The deal is good through 7/31. No idea if the game is good, just caught my eye because it was free for me.

I've thought about the vouchers that they are offering, but I can't get behind Nintendo for large digital releases. I have no problem with Microsoft or Sony since I just assumed the next round of systems would be backwards compatible, but not sure if Nintendo will be. Sure they've been great in the past, but at some point if they want the third party games on their system they'll need larger storage be it physical format or internal. I know I can just get a microsd card, but the price for them just aren't at external HDD prices yet.

"if they want the third party games on their system"? Lol the Switch is out now, we're not talking about Wii U. Third Party is filthy all over the Switch, and often times the games sell exponentially better on Switch than on PS4/Xbox/PC, at least when it comes to Indies.

Sure they have this generation of third party games,to some extent, but again once next gen is out that may be a completely different story. At some point the cards they use and a 400GB microSD card isn't going to be enough.

I'm not sure where you are getting this from. Nintendo handhelds have generally always been backwards compatible with at least the generation before it. Switch is the only modern N console that wasn't backwards compatible. Wii played GameCube games, and Wii U played Wii games. There is no way Nintendo is going to be making any format change any time soon, anyway.

Sure but only some digital Wii games were playable on Wii U and to do so you had to pay and upgrade fee and a cumbersome transfer process. Nintendo's history with digital games is fairly sketchy. That said I have a lot of digital games on switch and hopeful they figure it all out.

Funny how a class action lawsuit has a way of making that happen! Sadly, they didn't feel the need to address or admit this issue before that happened, but better late than never I guess.

I believe it's an hardware issue, just like the RRoD, and if given enough time, all JC can possibly fail. So to send them in, means they change out the defective piece with the new one that won't degrade like the current part does. This is what happens when you rush an item to market, and try to save a buck in the process, as it leads to lawsuits. My son's has two sets, and I'll be sending both in at alternate times for whatever fix is offered. Those things are to expensive to just let them go until the issue happens, then have them say to late. So yeah, this will hurt their pocketbook in the short term, but it's an issue of their own making, so no tears here.

I have no drift issues.  But then my near launch switch hasn't warped, the dock hasn't warped, the controllers all work, and it's been a great couple of years now with the switch.  I've mostly played docked so there's been all the opportunity for it to heat up.

If anything needed a class action suit it was over hinges on the DS and DS-lite.

Those hinges suck on the 3DS too. I know my original 3DS XL's hinges wore out and had to be replaced. I haven't had drifting either but only been using mine for a few months. I do play it often handheld if that means anything and rarely remove them from the console.

I mean, when you put it that way...

I bought 4 vouchers with the intention of converting from physical and going digital on my Switch. Problem is, I just couldn't bring myself to do so. It seems odd to me to own a digital game that only gives you 80 hours or less of gameplay, since you can always trade that in towards something else. Anyway, so I decided to use my voucher on SMM2 since it has endless content updates. I likely will use another to convert my physical copy of Smash to digital, but that still leaves me with two.

For example, my (first-world) dilemma is this: do I spend $48 in cash buying Fire Emblem physical from BB w/ GCU, $60 in trade credit for physical from GS, or do I spend one of my vouchers and be forever stuck with the game even after completing it? This is why I have trouble using my vouchers.
