Oh, it's cool. I didn't think you were. I just wanted to further clarify my view on it and make the point that ultimately there's no perfect solution for preservation of digital purchases. This is accelerated in the fact that PSP, Vita, 3DS, and other systems use DRM that locks the game to specific accounts and/or hardware. As long your original hardware is working it's all good if the digital store goes away. When the service is gone, if you change hardware, you'll have issues moving to a new system. You'll have to use cracking/hacking tools to make the backups compatible. I don't think any of it is just copy/paste and it just works without authenticating the account or hardware. Ultimately it's more hurdles in the future versus just putting a disc/cart in and start playing even if the hardware is not your original hardware. Of course this only is good for games where the content is on the disc/cart and you don't need downloads or the internet to play the game... but for me these are the only games worth preserving anyway.

The only soundproof solution for preservation of games (physical & digital) overall is the hacking communities. They've already proven it time and time again by the game publishers actually pulling copies of games to package and resell because they didn't have their own properties in house.

Still, I'd like to play my absolute favorite games decades from now without hacking and the best way to do that is just keeping a small physical collection. It's nothing to manage as it fits in a shelf or a box or two. There are no backups to worry about maintaining. There's nothing to restore before playing. I don't have to hack the backups if I change systems. It's just a matter of putting in a cart or disc and off to playing a game. Of course PS4 and XB1 changed the game by forcing you to install the game like a pc first. But PS3 and older... it's all good to play most games from the disc and most single player offline games don't require downloads to be playable (thank goodness).

 
I am so confused as what to use my other voucher on because Nintendo limits your voucher usage

The only thing I didnt get is Mario Maker 2 .....but besides Mario Maker 2 is there anything being introduced to the roster for voucher uses?
Because they already have quite a few pre order games on there and it looks like they might not be adding anymore because i didnt see any new editions
I got Marvel ultimate alliance cuz it just came out so I want to use it on a NEW release or upcoming one(although i want my cartridges, looks like for one game i gotta let that slide)

So basically 2 questions
1)is there a new/running list of upcoming or a full list of games you can use the voucher on
2)since the above are pre ordered, is it time to just buy Mario Maker 2, even though I just plan on playing other people’s levels as i dont see myself sitting there making levels, or should i just wait to see what else is possibly being added (like animal crossing?)
 
Pretty sure every $60 future first party Nintendo release will be eligible for the voucher. The only first party games I dont see on the list currently are the ones that cost less than $50.

The vouchers are good for a year so there's no rush to use them. I'm waiting for a game that makes sense for both me and my friend, as we share digital games.
 
Ok cool so I’ll just wait , your right I bought it the last day , july 31, so i have a year to buy a game, ill just keep my eye on the release calendar

The way the vouchers work is that you aren't able to use them on games until said game is actually purchasable with cash as well. So for example we know Link's Awakening, Luigi's Mansion, and Pokemon are all going to be on the voucher but right now they won't show up when you try to redeem one because you just can't buy them in general. On the eshop page it'll just show you their price and estimated release date.

Chances are every first party game will show up eventually.

 
I think Mario Maker 2 is a perfect use for the voucher. Loads quickly and can be played in short bursts, some of the great qualities of a digital purchase.

yeah but my question is will I enjoy it if I am not a level maker

Like is the game fun to someone who isn’t going to make too many levels, like is there enough good main content and user made cnontent to really enjoy ????

(It’s not that I didn’t wanna use the voucher on Mario, I was hesitating to buy it for the cartridge on BF but idc really for just ONE Nintendo game as I have bayonetta 1 digital)

From what I've heard on the Cagcast it's really not worth it if you're only going to play the levels. I haven't bought it because of this.

It's entirely personal preference and if you have a good way to find new levels (user communities posting levels). The personal preference comes into play if you like 2D Mario, because if you do I think the game has plenty of content for a player. The Nintendo-made levels are really good, and there are over 4 million user-created levels now, which even a small percentage need to be good for you to still have tens of thousands of levels to play. It helps if you have communities where you can easily find new levels to play. The game has built-in ways of curating and finding good levels, but it's always fun to find level ID codes online to play levels that way too.

I haven't even touched the creator side of the game and I've played a ton of it so far, and I don't feel like I'd ever get bored with the game. The only way you'd run out of good levels to play is when Nintendo turns off the servers in 10+ years.

I have no clue what is going on with FarSight Studios. After they lost they Williams/Bally license, they’ve went pretty much dark. I think they released a couple tables in the past year. They’ve known about the Flip Grip for almost a year but have yet to patch their games with a simple 90 degree rotation.

Do they manufacture/ship Flip Grips in waves? I'd like to get one sometime, but maybe not right now. How long would I have to wait for the next shipment?

It released late last year and was sold out by January (limited production). This is the first time since then it has become available. Wait at your own risk. But they've been taking preorders since May, and they're still accepting them, so that's a good sign they are prepared to fill a lot of orders.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered 2 and only received one in the package. I emailed them about it. I have not heard back from them.

I'm not usually into these style of games so I was hesitant, pretty much just bought it because of the "Steamworld" name - but it's loads of fun. Good difficulty curve, unique characters, and deep gameplay system. It's pretty narrative heavy which I don't care for, but you can outright skip that if you want to (like Fire Emblem for instance).

 
Love steamworld. Quest was great, I'm into RPGs but never really card games. This one was great, and finished it fairly fast. Sad there wasn't much to do after , but apparently now there will be!

If you looking for more card rpg games, check out Slay the Spire. Although I haven't played Quest yet, it sounds like most people consider Slay the Spire the cream of the crop with this genre of games.

Exact thing happened to me regarding my second missing Flip grip. They've also sent out the missing one. I'm in the same boat regarding Pinball Arcade.

 
Windjammers was fun to watch at Evo, is it worth fooling with if you mostly play by yourself?
