The only workaround is to add your Nintendo ID to a friend’s switch. Then you can buy on the eShop. If you do this you’ll have to transfer your ID to the new switch, which will require having both of them in the same location with a WiFi signal for 10-30 minutes. IMO not worth the hassle.

I mostly played and handheld mode and thought the Joycons were fine.

As far as difficulty goes, the game is hard but it's never unfair and you never lose much progress.  I never really wanted to murder my controller because of this.

Yeah, probably the best way to get sale prices before getting a switch is to use Amazon to buy the codes. Amazon typically does well at matching eshop prices and if they don't you can report in the feedback section on a game listing the price on the eshop and Amazon may actually match it (though you'd have to monitor it for changes and it may take a few hours or a day before it's considered).

I went ahead and reported the price to Amazon for Celeste. If more people do it, there's a better chance of them matching it.

If I remember right, you could:
-Make a new My Nintendo account on your system for that country and (probably) use your credit card.
-Change the region of your current account (but you lose any Gold coins) and use your credit card.

• You don't need to start a new Nintendo account.
• You don't lose your gold coins when you switch regions, your gold coins just stay with that region.
• Make sure you have $0 balance on your account before you change your country. I've never tried with a balance, I'm assuming it just won't let you, but perhaps it will let you and clear out your balance, so don't test that part!
• Once you have $0 balance on your primary account, go to Nintendo.com, sign into your account, and change your country there.
• Then turn on your Switch and go to the eShop using your primary account. It will force you to log back in with your Nintendo ID. Once you are in the eShop, it will be for that country you changed it to on your account.
• Buy what you want, using a payment method that works for that country. I have *only* bought on the Mexico eShop, which PayPal works perfectly fine. I have no clue if Argentina works with a US-based PayPal account. If not, try your credit card.
• When you are finished buying what you want, you can change your country back to USA (or wherever you are based) on your account page back on Nintendo.com.
• The gold coins you get from purchases stay on your account, but are country-locked. The games you bought in Mexico, Argentina, Japan, etc, stay with that eShop, even if you switch back to that shop months later. When you switch back to your home country, your gold coins will still be there waiting for you.

I know I wrote a lot, but it's really quite simple! The only pain will be if your payment method supports purchases in that country. I prefer this method of switch countries instead of having separate Nintendo accounts for each country, so that all my purchased games are on 1 primary account. When you buy a game in another country, it still shows up as purchased in your home country's eShop.

• Last note I forgot to mention! If you have an Nintendo Online game vouchers purchased on your primary account, you don't lose the vouchers when you switch countries. However, you can't redeem the vouchers in a different country's eShop, so you'd have to move back to the country you bought the game vouchers in to redeem them in that eShop (there's no reason you should redeem them in other eShops, since you already paid your $100 for them months ago).

MadMatt, explained it perfectly well, the only thing to note is that for the Argentina’s E Shop its not like Mexico’s or the US. They don’t have the Eshop on the switch itself. After you change your region, you would type Argentina Nintendo E shop into google and it takes you to the Nintendo Eshop webpage, you would buy the games on your smartphone or computer and then they send you a code to your email that you would redeem on the Switch itself after you purchase them. I used a visa debit card and had no issues. If done correctly once you switch regions and log into the Eshop on the Switch, you should only see redeem code and it’ll download no problem.

Not sure about buying Eshop credit on amazon, but the code you buy from the Argentinian Eshop will not redeem on the US Eshop, you have to switch regions and download from there Eshop. It will show up as downloadable once you do switch back to the US Eshop though.

Not anymore with the Switch (but still with the 3DS and Wii U, sadly). Nintendo is about the loosest in region-locking now (compared to the other consoles and the PC digital storefronts). "Loosest in region-locking" in that there is absolutely none whatsoever.

The only thing preventing you from buying in other countries/regions is your form of payment, as in if your PayPal or credit card will work for purchases made in that country. Nintendo has nothing to do with that. The method for purchasing digital games in Argentina is outside of the norm because (I'm assuming) of rules for that country that Nintendo is following?

Anyone have a chance to play the new daemon x machina demo? Have had it pre ordered from back when I had GCU at Best buy and trying to decide if it's worth keeping the pre order. Probably won't have time to try out the demo this week so any opinions are welcome

Did you enjoy the Prototype Missions?. I was on the fence after playing them but the demo is very much improved from that. The controls are tight and it’s way easier to see what’s going on.

I think if you like mech games and like the monster hunter structure (mission, loot, upgrade, repeat) seems like it’s a good game. If you are on the fence, maybe try the demo before you open the box so you can return it if you don’t like it.

Reviews are mixed. SixthAxis gave it a 9.0. NintendoLife 7.0. If scores matter to you. I’m guessing this will probably end up being a cult classic; a great game with fans but overlooked by many. Being released in the busiest month of the year won’t help.

Might not work for you personally using the service, but PayPal works perfectly on the Mexico eShop. I've had no issues with multiple purchases just moments apart, and no conversion fee. My pre-existing US-based PayPal that I have set up on my account just works as-is whenever I change my region to Mexico.

I was going to go that route, but I try not to use my credit card whenever possible, and when I try to link my paypal to use my balance, it asks for it.

Anyone know of any B&M stores that I'd have any chance of getting Link's Awakening before my trip to NYC on Friday the 20th at 6am?  It would be great to play it on the ride up there.  However Gamestop isn't having a midnight launch so they are out.  I don't really have a Walmart near me that is 24 hours and from what I hear it's a shitshow anyways at midnight there.

I'm guessing I am out of luck and won't have it in time, unless I just went digital, which I just won't do.  I will probably end up getting it over the weekend at the Nintendo store up in NYC just to have for my ride back on the bus.

WHAT ? Nintendo life gave it a 7??????? Thats nuts. Like you said, the controls are tight and gameplay is fun, but damn, a 7 from Nintendo life is pretty poor for an IP release.....

Bought a VISA vanilla E-gift card which is like a virtual account with my paypal and I was able to link my paypal to my nintendo account. However, still can't buy from the argentinia store with that card. Wish Argentina had a paypal option for buying from the eshop.

I entered my real home address, but had to select an Argentinian country (or whatever it is). For the identification number I just entered 12345678. There might have been something else that I fudged, but that's what I can remember. The transaction processed immediately. The only thing was the email got filtered as spam, but that was easy to fix.

If you guys are encountering problems, it might be your cc company being a little more strict.

Just did this.

Logged into my Nintendo account via a browser, changed my region to Argentina, google searched "Argentina Nintendo eShop", made my browser translate Spanish to English, added the games to cart, and paid using a credit card. I got instantly approved by my CC in seconds (see photo).

At checkout, I entered my real street address, city, phone number, and full name. For state and zip code, I used Buenos Aires and B1631IUD. For Identification number, I used 12345678.

All digital game codes were sent to my email. Before redeeming them, I switched my account back to United States and then redeemed each code under the U.S. eShop page via the Switch.

Came out to $14.57 USD. Great deal! Thanks!

Note: Google search your credit card if they charge a “foreign transaction fee”. It’s normally 2 to 3 percent of your purchase costs. In my case, my credit card has no foreign transaction fee.

Hmmm...I tried but every time I went to log in after changing my region, putting a game in my cart and then try to log in for checkout I keep getting a message saying something like "this is unsupported by my region.  It then kicks me to the main page and resets me make to USA. 

Edit - Wait, thought I was stupid and figured it out, but then maybe not.  Now I get this that stops me from switching;

This Nintendo Account or account for a child contains a pass that is set for automatic renewal.
Your country/region cannot be changed unless you first cancel automatic renewal for the pass.

 guess that's for my Nintendo Online?
