Logged into my Nintendo account via a browser, changed my region to Argentina, google searched "Argentina Nintendo eShop", made my browser translate Spanish to English, added the games to cart, and paid using a credit card. I got instantly approved by my CC in seconds (see photo).

At checkout, I entered my real street address, city, phone number, and full name. For state and zip code, I used Buenos Aires and B1631IUD. For Identification number, I used 12345678.

All digital game codes were sent to my email. Before redeeming them, I switched my account back to United States and then redeemed each code under the U.S. eShop page via the Switch.

Came out to $14.57 USD. Great deal! Thanks!

Wow, wish I had known to switch back to US for the gold coins. It doesn't seem like you earn anything on the Argentinian side.

Hmmm...I tried but every time I went to log in after changing my region, putting a game in my cart and then try to log in for checkout I keep getting a message saying something like "this is unsupported by my region. It then kicks me to the main page and resets me make to USA.

Edit - Wait, thought I was stupid and figured it out, but then maybe not. Now I get this that stops me from switching;

This Nintendo Account or account for a child contains a pass that is set for automatic renewal.
Your country/region cannot be changed unless you first cancel automatic renewal for the pass.

No, the code isn't tied to any account.

So for anyone else that is new to buying from other countries on your Switch.. *this is not typical*

The only reason this has been an issue for some is because Argentina is *not* actually on the Switch, it's web store only right now. Buying from Mexico, Japan, UK etc. eShops has always been a simple process. (as long as your CC allows the foreign purchase, it goes smooth)

If you look at all the games on the ARG eShop.. it's limited because nintendo just recently opened the eShop in ARG Peru and somewhere else (I can't remember the 3rd country)

I haven’t done any Argentina purchases, but I’m assuming Nintendo is giving out seemingly region-unlocked codes because the eShop isn’t available in Argentina. This is their workaround for allowing those residents to be able to make digital purchases. These codes seem to be working on US-region accounts because there’s no eShop in Argentina to lock these codes to.

Is cuphead worth $10?

If you like fair, but difficult, it's worth the $10 and then some. I haven't played it in awhile, as it's on my son's NS, and I don't like the JC due to lack of a proper d-pad, so anytime I want to play, I have to use the TV and Pro Controller. Which pretty means it's to much work for me to play currently, but up to where I stopped, it was great.

So I'm planning to get it once I get the Lite, as then I can play without the TV and with a D-Pad, so I'll probably finish it at that point. I'll have to get in on deals like this when that time comes, as I would buy Cuphead at $10 without even a second thought. The music and art style alone, makes it worth $10 IMO! LOL

Now that I knew my Argentina account works, I placed another order. Unlike the first order taking 22 hours to complete, I got the code instantly this time. Picked up Risk of Rain 2 for $8.62 (normally $30).

Edit: Just looked at my CC’s and amazon rewards card from chase does not charge any foreign transaction fees. I bank at chase anyway so was looking if my normal debit card did or not (Mexico I know they do not on the debit cause I’ve done that a few times) good to know about the amazon card.

Tried two different credit cards and both are having issues... can’t figure out how to have it process.

I’d absolutely do it, but my bank is incredibly strict about that stuff and will absolutely freeze my card thinking fraudulent activity is going on and then I’ll have to sit on the phone for 30 minutes to an hour to get it unfrozen.

I wish it’d work on those prepaid debit cards.

Correct. I switched back to US and redeemed 4 codes no problem. Got the gold coins in my US account as well.

If you do redeem in Argentina eshop and then switch back to US, you can still download the games through the US eshop (it will show as purchased in the US shop). The only thing you lose doing it this way is earning gold coins on your US account.
