I was surprised at the amount of "Jog In Place" I had to do, which is rough because... well, because genetics. My joints are hypermobile, including my kneecaps, so any kind of running is more likely to cause pain/discomfort/injury.

If you opt for the do not disturb mode, I think they limit the amount of movement required for the jogging which would make it easier on your joints.

Congrats. My guess is we'll see another Golf Story sale before the end of the year. I'm fairly positive there is a demo for Lost Sphear. I tried it out, wasn't my kind of RPG. You may enjoy it though, many do.

Thanks!  Haven't been coming in the eshop thread very much since I don't play my 3DS much anymore, that will definitely change once I have my switch up and running.  Always been appreciative of Frisky's continued work on these threads.

I have tried so many times to get into the Xenoblade Chronicles games, but they have just never grabbed me, I always end up getting bored.

Already have both Zeldas and will probably get Odyssey during BF somewhere.  Already played Dragon Quest XI on PS4 for something crazy like 200 hours, so I don't think I want to get sucked into that again on the switch, althouh I am curious about the 2d mode.  Lost Sphear looked interesting, only watched some gameplay vids.  Will probably get the demo at some point.

May have to look at the DQ builder games, never really tried them or looked into them much.  Had a ton of fun with Cat Quest on PS4, would love to get the sequel at some point.

If you buy the DQ builders games, do yourself a favor. Play 1 first cause once you play 2 you will not want to go back.
DQB1 is a great game but 2 just adds so many improvements.

I wouldn't think so. The jogging parts are how you traverse the levels, but for me at least, the bulk of the actual work happens in the battles themselves. There are plenty of exercise options that are pretty low-impact, both on your joints and your neighbor's patience.

It will take a little away from the running parts, but it is still a solid work out since running/jogging is only a small portion of what you do in the game.

I don't think so. There are lots of exercises that don't require jogging/stomping so you can definitely still get a good workout without worrying about disturbing anyone. Still, I would try to get a mat or some sort of padding and see if you can do the full workout without being too loud.

I live in a one-story house with hardwood floors, plus I usually wear shoes, so my stomping gets pretty intense. Even had a picture frame fall from a shelf. The nice thing about wearing shoes and socks is that it absorbs the sweat but I can imagine that things can get pretty damp if you go shoeless on carpet.

By the way I saw that The Messenger was brought up on the last page and thought I'd mention that I just fired it up via Game Pass this morning. I'm honestly pretty burned out on all the 8/16-bit inspired retro stuff from the last few years but The Messenger has got me hooked. Definitely worth picking up on sale.

Yeah, I kept an eye on Brickseeker to see if the local Wal-Mart had it when it was cheaper and it never seemed to be in stock and even when I've checked since then, it was at maybe one or two copies at most. Not much there and no real reason that it would be clearanced out for BF.

Galak-Z is fun, I played it when it originally came out on PS4. Not sure how it runs, but a quick look at reviews show that it seems fine on Switch. The free-to-play Galak-Z is completely different than the game that costs money. I'm pretty sure the F2P version is junk that originally showed up on mobile (iOS/Android). The real game is a fun twin-stick mech shooter, and I was thinking of grabbing it at this very low price just to play through it again.

Late to the Ring Fit talk, but something else to know is that the deeper you get in the game the less walking you actually do in general. They start adding more ways to move through the non-battle parts of a level. Like too many to list actually now that I started typing it out. But a few examples are: a kayak thing for water that is powered by pushing the ring into your stomach and turning your upper body left and right, a machine that moves on its own and you simply bend left/right to steer it and avoid obstacles, or a rail you attach to and move along by holding the ring-con up, pulling outwards, and holding that position until the end of the rail.

That last one in particular I always find brutal, the first day I had to do it my arms were so freaking sore that night and the next day. They make it worse mentally as well because sometimes the rail will go uphill and it causes you to move along it slower.

Does anyone own both a Switch and a Switch Lite? Really considering double dipping here, but I heard there are some issues with sharing games between two systems.

It’s a little more cumbersome than I’d like but it’s not terrible. Basically, just make the Lite the primary console because the home switch will usually be able to connect to the internet to check.

Cloud saves work pretty smooth and it’s easy enough to check if it has the most up to date backup.

Playing games like Pokémon is a little harder because no cloud saves (for obvious reasons) so you have to go to transfer save data and send it to the other switch. Takes a minute or so.

The only other issue is that on the secondary console, you can only play downloaded games with the account that downloaded them. Not an issue for me but if you have kids with their own accounts it could be tricky.

I was on the fence so I got mine from Best Buy. You can return opened systems so you can always try it out and see if you like it.

I believe right now your best bet is to get cheap eShop credit and buy a membership through the eShop. You can try the Trading forum here or Raise.com, people here have had positive experiences with them.

As for getting the free games, there’s a Nintendo Switch Online tab in the front page of the eShop, they’ll be there.

Second on the “free games” they offer, is it like PS & Xbox where you have to claim them or are they just in the” library” when you pay for the service ?

You can also buy a game that comes with a 12 month code, like Mario Maker 2 or Tetris 99 (though there is already a free version of Tetris 99 for online members). With MM2, the version with the 12 month code is only $10 more.

And don't forget to activate the free 1-month trial before you put in a code.

Just buy it. Worth it. You can try credit deals but at $19.99 is a steal. No claiming games, they just get added to the app. The rewind feature on those games are so awesome too. Corrects my mistakes in punch out.

I'm getting Marble Saga Kororinpa vibes from Marblelous Animals. Ok, yeah, this eshop/phone game doesn't really come all that close, but the idea is the same!

Back to the Ring Fit discussion for a moment if I may. I have bad arthritis in my knees. I can't do squats at all because of pain and weakness. Any reason for me to even consider Ring Fit? Last fitness app I had on the Wii shut me down early with all the squats it required to advance. Thanks for any guidance.

With all of the recent/soon to be Switch owners in the thread posting for advice, I'm kind of shocked no one has mentioned picking up Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.  It's the best game I've played on Switch, and I've gone through SM Odyssey and Breath of the Wild.

Any time you need to do squats you could just cheese it if you really wanted to. Since the squat tracking comes from the joycon strapped to your leg you could just sit down on a chair or even grab the joycon and tilt it upwards until the game recognizes it as a squat. For battles you can simply not put any squat based attacks on your skill bar, once you level up a bit you have more attacks than you can fit on your skill bar so dropping squats is no problem.

There are a couple of levels where you would be doing very little exercise during the "walking" sections, but that is a very very very tiny fraction of the game. Maybe like 2-3% of all levels. It's really not a big deal as most levels are only 5-10 minutes long anyway.

Don't just put it on hold or they might cancel your copy and sell it to someone else. This looks like a price mistake so you guys might want to hurry.

Can't add to cart under any circumstances. Did you have success doing this on a particular browser or the app?

Pretty sure it just lists every store in the area with the 'call store' option no matter whether they have it or not. Debating whether to be there when they open to see if I can get one before it's fixed.

I was able to get actual inventory for new/preowned by searching through the app. Still not able to add to cart tough

Sweet, got it to work, thanks for that. TIV is currently set to $3 so not sure if it's a price mistake or not. Amazing deal though. Will be there tomorrow morning if the price holds!

Edit: PO price is showing up at $8.09 with elite pro.
