Hello all, sorry slightly off topic but need a 128 or 256 sd card. Is there a cheaper one that is reliable ?
Thanks
Again sorry if off topic.

i was looking at this one

https://www.amazon.com/Gigastone-Class10-MicroSD-Adapter-Nintendo/dp/B07P45BKN9/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=SWITCH%2B128%2BSD&qid=1579213597&s=electronics&sr=1-2&th=1
I’d pay the extra $4 and buy Sandisk, but that’s just me. So many fake sd cards out there and many people don’t use enough space to find out they’re fake till all their data is corrupt.

Samsung is highly regarded and only $3 more than what you were looking at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072HRDM55/

100 MB/s read and 90 MB/s write vs 95/35.

Sandisk good too if you can find at similar price for U3.

As far as SD cards go, I’d suggest sticking to Sandisk or Samsung, then lexar. The rest... not worth the cheaper price.
Those 3 I’ve never had any issues with.

I emphatically recommend you test the SD card as soon as you get it. As bilbobagins3 said, it’s very easy to get sent a fake when shopping for these online, even if it’s from a seller you’d usually trust.
I haven't had to buy cards in a while, but I'd always price match Amazon at Best Buy. I'd imagine there's a smaller chance of getting a fake one that way.

I know I’m the one who literally made a thread to point people toward these webstores, but I don’t disagree. I’m from a third-world country and I know very well how any concession made to us is extremely fragile and more often than not short-lived, and just how shitty it is to see them disappear.

Anyway, I’ll wait and see what happened, because it doesn’t seem to be as simple as “they took down the cheap stuff”. It seems most (if not all) delistings were the titles in their New Year’s sale. Also, they took them down in the pricier Colombia/Chile/Peru stores. And there’s still underpriced stuff in there (Pine).

Glad you did some research. Good info on the delisting in other regions. So it might be something more complicated then the codes being exploited.

Prices getting hiked in regions where prices are being exploited isn't a new thing, and has been discussed repeatedly. Y'all are just punishing developers (usually indie developers) for pricing their items fairly and competitively in other regions, who then have to choose whether to raise prices punishing those who live in the region.

It would be nice if we could keep deal talk in this thread to ACTUAL sales/deals and not these exploits like previously discussed. But that's likely just positive thinking, I guess.

Have you been here long? CAG is basically built on exploits, price mistakes, etc.

So all the delisted stuff came back and his whole post was meaningless lol.

Correct, but it's happened before in other regions with other games. It'll happen again. And if these exploits continue to spread, developers will just start pricing their games incredibly high in these regions (or worst case Nintendo will just region lock the next Switch)

I get that but you’re screaming into the win. That region exploit trick is posted everywhere.

Buying an item with a price mistake from a company isn't the same as repeatedly taking advantage of regional pricing - which hurts the developer/residents of that region. Target's random price mistakes aren't going to drastically affect their business in any meaningful way.

Agreed, which is why it's pointless to continue posting about it. Half the time this thread is just regional price exploit talk. Those aren't "deals". All I'm asking is those conversations be moved elsewhere but yes, I'm aware that likely won't happen.

Ah ok. Now I understand. Yeah there should probably be an exploit thread.

If I remember correctly one was made and region pricing talk was supposed to move there, but it didn't stick. Just a bit disappointing, but not the end of the world.

I got Nonograms Prophecy around launch for $0.99 since I didn't have a Picross game to play and have been working my way through it since then. I'm on the 20x20 color puzzles now and it's probably the worst of the Picross games I've paid for so far. I've seen two of the regular 20x20 puzzle just not work upfront with one just showing a row and the other won't let me mark any spots. The numbers on the outer edges don't work properly, so if you have multiple 1s in a row and put a 1 dot on the end, it'll dim the first 1 because it can't differentiate them and just goes with the first instance of that number it has, which just makes the bigger, more complicated puzzles much harder than they have to be as you have to figure out which parts of a row/column's numbers are actually confirmed or not. Then throw that issue in there when color puzzles come into play and it's dimming numbers so you can't easily tell which color they represent or not. They also have several color puzzles with similar colors that can be hard to tell apart, which is kind of a cruel additional challenge. That's not even the worst part of the color puzzles, as there are several with the options for colors being exactly the same but are treated as separate colors so that you have to do the most annoying testing of whether you've got the correct version of that color in the right spot that is more tedious than anything and just a test of my patience. That's just pure BS masked as difficulty to make it harder than it actually is. The other issue I have with it is that while you can turn off all audio in the settings, you'll still get a success jingle when you solve a puzzle anyway.

One was made, but people who do NOT know or post about the other thread come here and post about games being cheaper in other eShops... Then people get upset about it being talked about here, the other thread is linked to and then IGNORED. Then those that would rather pay less for games, get blamed for talking about getting games cheaper elsewhere. And remember, until the AR eShop opened nobody cared about the cheaper deals talk in Mexico's eShop for example.

The non US eShop thread. (Cheaper thread)

Thank you for the word of warning on this one! I'm a big fan of nonograms, and thought about grabbing this when it was on sale, but hesitated due to the interface, and that I already have enough digital and analog nonograms I could be working through instead of buying another game.

There are many people who just want to get games cheaper, and then there are scumbags who resell international codes for a profit. The latter is obviously the reason why games get delisted and indie developers make less money. Grouping together people who want to help the community and trash resellers is something I take issue with. Resellers aren't telling others about it because it increases competition and decreases the likelihood of them moving product. More resellers also creates more competitive pricing.

You can't police every person who finds out about regional pricing and tries to help by posting about it. Nor can you police the scumbags buying hundreds of copies of indie games and reselling them for triple the price. If someone asks in this thread about buying Stardew Valley for $6 from an ebay reseller, I will gladly tell them about regional pricing. It will only change when Nintendo changes the way that eshop functions.

I appreciate your well intentions, but your idea of "helping the community" directly hurts developers - which I take issue with. I respect video games as a medium and art form, and I want creators to be able to continue making cool games without having to price gouge regions. Obviously resellers are scumbags, but that doesn't make taking advantage of regional pricing a cool thing to do. You are correct that the resale market sucks, and in MANY ways hurts indie developers. Just because one thing is significantly worst, doesn't make the other a good thing.

I know I'm not gonna change anyone's mind, because those who want the cheap games are just going to be defensive of that purchase/habit. To each their own. But I will reiterate that another thread for these type of purchases is better than equating them to the normal eShop deals.

Aww... No Geno for SSBU announcement...

But his SSB Wii U/3DS Mii costume still hasn't been confirmed, so maybe he's coming in pack 2?

And Assassin's Creed and Rabbid Mii costumes? Will Rayman make it in within the next two years?

I'd love for a Falcom character like Adol Christian to get in!

Also, I am interested in buying a Mario Galaxy game for Wii U (i might get it digitally, but a disc could be cheaper).

Should I get Mario Galaxy 1 or Mario Galaxy 2? I've heard that they are the same story but different levels, like smb1 and smb2, but which one is better to get?

I'm streaming some of the Sega Ages games I got from the recent sale, which includes Gain Ground, Alex Kidd, Space Harrier, and Sonic The Hedgehog (link).

So there's this new game that appears to be a train sim/cleaned up hentai game? Anyone gonna go for that? I wanna hear some reviews. I can't wrap my mind around the combining of those genres LoL

It's pretty good. I played through 2 times on the PC. It's mainly about a guy and some girls and some of the girls are trains and the guy wants to promote some tourism with the people. Honestly I don't remember that much, but it had some good comedy and fun characters and I liked the setting quite a bit. The eroge in the original isn't the main draw, so I'm sure it's a good buy.

So I’ve just about finished completing Timespinner which I picked up on its most recent sale. For those of you who liked Hollow Knight, this title is very much a poor man’s Hollow Knight. By no means is that a bad thing. It’s a very fun albeit relatively short Metroidvania and I would encourage anyone who likes that style of game to give this one a try. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough and would highly encourage anyone who is interested in it to pick it up - especially when it goes on sale again at some point.

A new update went live for A Hat In Time. It’s mostly minor improvements and fixes... and somehow it’s still another 4 GB.

Jeez, this thing (with no DLCs) is now bigger than the Assassin’s Creed collections... Is it just downloading the whole thing over every update?

Good to know, I picked up a copy via Limited Run but haven't touched it yet.

Yea supposedly they fixed the problem of Switch not using the engine the game was built on by putting it into the game or something like that. Plus, then there are compression things that normally happen but didn't with this game. It's the biggest game I have on Switch, I like it but it's just so huge you don't want to have it on your card if you have a small one. What's it, like 20gb now? I know mine is about 16 without this newest update.

Does anyone have any experience with these? I picked up a second Switch (Lite), and figured spend the extra $11 for this thing. It appears to be Wal-Mart's own brand.

It's a very good roguelite for $3. Well worth it.
This really was a good rec. I play a round or two of Gonner in between other games, and it is just the right amount of challenging vs slowly making progress. The furthest I've been so far is the second boss (floor 15, I think). I've unlocked several heads, weapons, and backpacks along the way. Definitely worth picking up at $3 for those interested the next time it goes on sale.

Important tip I learned from a useful guide (since the game doesn't explain anything itself): hold up while jumping to get some extra height. That little bit higher makes a world of difference.

Quick google search on the brand and it seems like most people think it’s junk. Might be good for a camera or something that doesn’t need to read and write a lot. As much as I like to be a cheap ass, I don’t mind spending more for a Sandisk card because I know from previous purchases that they last and perform well. I’d say when it comes to an SD card for the switch, get Sandisk and the highest capacity you can afford. With all the games out there and most of them needing frequent updates it’s nice to have a lot of space.

I have one for my system and 2 sandisk ones and I notice no difference. I got Witcher 3 digital downloaded on the same one you linked and I've had zero issues. I read the Switch caps at 100 mb/s.

Long story short I've had no issues no long loading no frame dips nothing
