I went from a physical copy of botw, to digital and save worked just fine.
Don’t think that’s the issue.
Also had a GameFly copy of a game that I later bought the game physically, save worked just fine from the GameFly cart. Save downloaded from cloud. Pretty sure it’s the account on the non home switch thing mentioned.

The primary switch your account is on should be able to play it for any profiles on that switch. The secondary switch with your profile can only play it under your profile. So if you have your switch as primary and hers as secondary then you need to flip it so her's is primary for your account.

Beyond that, make sure after she downloads it that it's fully updated. Additionally if you bought the expansion under your account, she has to have that downloaded as well since the save, I think, gets changed when you have the expansion dlc.

To fix which system is the primary, go into the one that is the primary. Launch the eshop, click on your icon in the top right, and scroll down the list and you'll find the "Primary Console" section. Hit the "Deregister" button. Then close the eshop. Go to her system, launch the eshop under your profile, and it'll automatically register it as the primary system. She should be good from there as long as the game is updated.

The only niggle with this is you'll get a verification check on your switch that takes a second when you start a digital game to make sure no one else is playing it. As long as you keep the game open, it'll last even offline for days.

If you are both playing on the same switch, it should work... but it won't if your game isn't updated with all the dlc you purchased downloaded.

Both of these statements are wrong, btw.

SO's Switch has my primary account, mine has the secondary. We can both play Picross and Animal Crossing at the same time.

Picross had to check in every time you woke up from sleep. Animal Crossing force quits if you stay disconnected for about 2 hours, even if you're actively playing.

I have two switches. It does a check every time I start a game under my profile on the secondary system. You are probably right though, it does check when you wake the system up. But I've never had it check while I was sitting there playing a game except when I started a game. Maybe I needed to play longer? Whatever the case, it's annoying and is an issue worth noting.

I got tired of the phone home checks so I asked my kids if they were playing any of my digital games (I mostly buy physical releases for the good stuff) and they said no... so I changed my primary system to my switch lite even though I'm rarely playing somewhere that I don't have the net. I'll probably keep them this way even when they aren't playing Animal Crossing anymore (probably 4 more months, they always burn out on AC).

Nintendo sure has come a long way from blowing into cartridges to now requiring you to be a Data Scientist in order to use their products.

It seems to depend on the game. Like my example, the Overlord/Kemono Picross games check every time I wake the system. AC doesn't seem to do that, but doesn't let you play for more than about 2 hours without internet.

It was really apparent because I don't have a WiFi router right now, and have to use my PC as an access point. Turning on the Switch to play a Picross puzzle was a major PITA.

Yeah, I did the 3DS "transfer" probably 5-6 times over it's life, and I had to look up the latest tutorial each time, as it never got easy, just because I had done it many times before. Even though it was mostly the same process, it was janky to start with, and each time I did it, I was holding my breath, as it just never seemed "right" each time. I will say, aftger all my worry each time, their system did restore exact settings each time, which was the highlight of the process for sure.

I borrowed Zelda: BotW from my GF's boss and put about 10 hours into it. I really liked the open world and being able to organically explore and discover places yourself. However, that weapon durability mechanic was really hard for me to get used to. I hoarded every single weapon and would only use the weakest ones in combat, because of that old video game mentality of "I better save these powerful things for a more difficult enemy/boss!" This made what was already challenging combat even harder and I never could get the timing down to pull off that sweet slow-mo dodge. I'm sure these are things I may eventually get over or adapt to, and I do want to try to get back into it, but I'm currently leaning more towards Donkey Kong.

It's not a terrible game, but it's not very good either. Likely a 5.5/10 for me. If the grind was cut in half it may be like a 6 or something.

I recently Plat this game on PS4 and on Vita. I first Plat it on PS4 with my son. I thought it would be impossible to do solo on Vita so I tried to play online with vita and PSTV. Store listing said its mp on Vita. Turns out that's not true. No matter what, it was possible solo to Plat. The game is grindy. Once you power yourself up, you're able to break through your ceiling. The other levels do offer variety. I would recommend sticking with the game. It is good twin stick shooter
 
Glad to see Rise: Race the Future finally on sale - looks like this is the best time to bite yet. Ditto Double Cross - already have it on PC, but I'll get more use out of it on Switch.

I'm an early riser and like to play video games around 5-7AM. The Animal Crossing game for the DS had the Early Bird option, where you could change your town to be active early, with stops open earlier and villagers active. 

Does the Switch version have anything like this? Posting my question here to avoid spoilers on other websites.

3DS DLC is not only rarer, but also tougher to find, since most of the time, you have to access it within the game itself, or announced elsewhere to find out if they are on sale. Atlus in the past frequently placed their DLCs for SMT4 and SMT4A on sale, and usually would find out through their newsletter. (Cannot recall the last time I've seen it.)

I got Sonic Mania and the Genesis Collection. Bought the Retrobit 6 button controller.
It feels amazing. No issues there.
The problem lies with the button mapping. And since you can't fully customize controls in the Genesis Collection, you're stuck with a weird configuration that doesn't feel like a Genesis game anymore..
Buttons are mapped like a Switch.. So in Streets of Rage, you're using A and B for punching and kicking, Y for specials. Can't use Z or C, as they're ZL and ZR, rewind and fast forward. And unfortunately there's not many choices in the emulator for controls, and with the emulator controls being busted, of course in game will be too.
Simpler games I imagine would be fine.. But anything that can use the six buttons, I don't think this is a very viable option as is.

You could permanently set your clock to be 3 hours forwards though.

I got yesterday and played a little. It does seem pretty hard, but also seems surprisingly polished for a buck. Also seems to be heavily inspired by the old arcade game Rastan, which I used to love.

Would be a great game to play with friends and take turns to see who can get the furthest (when people are allowed to have friends again, that is).

Overall, for a buck I'm satisfied.

Yes! It works! That's so great. I haven't been playing as much as I wanted, because the game wasn't fun to play at 5am real time. I adjusted the time, turned off internet time sync, and now I can have my town be active when I want to play.

I've had it a while on XB1, think it was a Game with Gold at some point. Tried it last Fall for the first time and yes it is very punishing. Think Rastan with a Dark Souls type edge. The first stage is practically a clone of Rastan's first level. You can do it, but expect to die. A lot.

It is pretty high quality though and plays great.

I am discovering this as well with the 8bitdo M30. I am having trouble with the Sega Ages, where you can remap the buttons. I can’t even get Lightening Force started. Pressing start takes you to the Emulator menu and I can’t find a button that will actually start the game.

It’s great for Sonic games, I guess.
 
The M30 doesn't work so great with my Switch Lite. The input lag is out of control; we're talking a half second delay here. I'm using Hyper Sentinel as a test game.

I think I remember reading somewhere that you can switch the input mapping for some of the buttons in the M30 directly by holding some buttons down, but it might have just been switching A and B. Not sure.

Info below pulled off the top review for the M30 on Amazon:

Here's how you swap buttons and change what stick/d-pad the d-pad counts as

UP+MINUS: DPAD
LEFT+MINUS: L JOYSTICK
RIGHT+MINUS: R JOYSTICK

DOWN+MINUS: A-B/X-Y

Hold 5sec swap layout

This isn't in the manual for some weird reason, but is extremely helpful.

As for the controller itself, it's great, the d-pad is wonderful, buttons feel nice, no complaints now that we know how to swap buttons and stuff. Now A/B/X/Y do the same thing as the pro controller, Z=L, C=R, L=ZL, R=ZR, this stays even after swapping buttons

 
Thanks! I need to play with it a bit. Admittedly, I haven’t messed with it too much. I have the 2.4 G version, not the Bluetooth, so I’ll have to see if it works the same.

Dead heat breakers has never been on sale. Last month club Nintendo had a 40% discount for DRW: The last ranger that could be bought with platinum coins. I’m hoping for a sale too as I’d like to complete the trilogy. I think inazuma eleven has been on sale before, but that was a long time ago when level 5 sales were frequent.
