As others have already stated, it works with a few "N" titles for the VR experience, but nothing revolutionary. It does come with games on the disc, but the one being offered here is just the blaster set(which is probably the best game on the disc), but there are other attachments in the full VR set not included here. So depending on a child's interest, this set may not be the best choice.

This is for sure a boys style set, but the other stuff in the full set, may appeal to boys and girls, as you have picture taking and art stuff in the full set. So if blasting stuff is what the child is in to, the blaster is pretty cool and for sure the best item in the set, and why it is offered as the only one on it's own. Even not having the other stuff to use, I think $20 is solid for this stand alone set, and it also allows to use the VR in those games already mentioned, so that's more icing on the cake.

Don’t feel bad; this also took me a surprising amount of mental calculus ;) This configuration also works perfectly for the Genesis games included in Konami’s recent Contra and Castlevania compilations. Those already allowed for button configuration in-game, but it’s nice to just have a system-level custom controller profile that’s easy to enable/disable.
EDIT: these settings assume that the firmware-level button config on the M30 is set to default. I.e. I haven’t swapped the A/B or X/Y buttons with the controller’s built-in options.

That's really evil of them to say we need the other games to get all three 40x30 giant puzzles on S4. I started with S3 and I'm still trying to complete it. Each puzzle it taking 30+ minutes because I refuse to use hints or allow any mistakes. Buying 3 more games is more puzzles than I'll ever need... who am I kidding, I'm probably going to buy them anyway :oops:

No, they don't use the touch screen, but it hardly changes the experience. You will get accustomed to the controls very quickly.

The Picross sale sounds like a good deal, but I've been playing Mario's Picross on my 3DS for over 4 years and just recently unlocked the star difficulty.  Rare as these sales are, they'll probably happen again before I'm in need of another Picross game.

The Picross series is good, but they're rather bland. Picross : Lord of the Nazarick and PictoQuest add some atmosphere to the puzzles. Piczle Cross Adventure just launched today and also looks really good. Piczle Colors and Voxelgram are also fun twists on the picross formula.

Who needs a NSO 7 Day Trial code?

Just redeemed my ACNH code from my trip to Brazil  :whistle2:​ And I already have NSO, so I can't use it.

First of all, thank you for sharing.

A further question for anyone: I'm going to try to use this trial to upload my save data. I guess I'm wondering if it's like PS+ cloud saves (they stay uploaded but you must have active ps+ to access them) or if they're going to go poof after a 7 day trial is over.

Also would using a 7 day trial make me ineligible for getting the initial 1mo free trial period they offer to new subscribers?

Do separate traveling accounts like this not work if you want to play on two separate switches? My kid has our switch and I play on a lite. I figure if I make an Uncle Traveling Matt account, we'd only be able to play the travellers games on one of those two (that account's primary switch). Is that correct?

But places like Brazil/Argentina you buy from the webstore and not on the Switch's eShop. they email a code for you to redeem on any account. Mexico/UK/Japan have eShops's that are native on the Switch, so those games you buy are tied to that account. 

Since I have a Switch and a Switch Lite.. I've been able to play games "multiplayer" between the two locally with no issue.

I figured since I bought Animal Crossing digitally on my main account that I'd be able to play on both and be able to go to each others island to sell the tree fruit for higher bells...

I can play both games at the same time on different accounts, but as soon as I try to connect locally I get an error about only one copy being able to be played. Might be a Nintendo first party title thing.. but that's never happened before with other games. 

And I thought that you didn't need to have an internet connection to play? My Lite is my "main" console now and the Switch being able to be connected to a TV I figured I'd play AC there instead of the Lite. It wants to check if I'm eligible to play the game every time I fire it up. I can turn on airplane mode after the game is running.. but if I play anything else I can't fire up AC again. 

I thought there was a once a day check and then it's fine? I guess I could just connect through my phone to check and then go offline again if I really needed to do that.. 

I just hope they implement the save transfers soon.

So, to clarify are you playing on two different Nintendo online accounts? That seems weird if true, I was thinking about buying a digital copy to play locally on a lite with my family.

Can have both playing ACNH at same time no issue, try to have 2nd account join main account locally and I get the 1 usage error.
Can’t get 2nd account to go online cause it doesn’t have NSO.

Like I said, I’ve done this with pretty much every game.. This is the first time I’ve ran into any issues. But this is the first Nintendo first party title I’ve tried it with.. so could be Nintendo being strict.

I've played local MP with other games with just one copy and separate accounts, ACNH is the first game I've had issues with.

So after searching up the error code, I find this:

Seems like I'm not the only one and seems like it does this with people that have multiple copies as well.. So this may be a bug.

 
Probably doesn't help, but we have

- One Switch with both primary accounts

- One Switch with only my secondary account

- One digital copy

- Both Switches on same Nintendo Online Family Plan

We can play on each other's islands through online, or go to other people's islands at the same time, etc.

It has 10 single player scripted scenarios where you play as Jason. And it also has AI bots, but unless something has changed (which I don't think is the case), there are only counselor AI bots, so you can only play as Jason in offline/single player matches.

 
For our ophthalmologist pals, the 3DS PDI check app is on sale for $5, down from $100. Apparently it’s a pretty solid tool for that purpose and nothing else? Anyway, for us common folk it’s just a curiosity, but a heck of a deal for someone in the field.

You know, I'm a pediatrician and had thought about picking that up when it came out, but decided against it at $100. I just grabbed it now. I can use it to check kids' steroscopic vision when we do a vision screen with well checks. Now I just have to bring a 3DS to work and hope it doesn't get stolen. :p

 
My Castle Crashers has suddenly developed an issue where the music has just decided to not play in certain parts of the game. Has anyone else encountered this? I have tried restarting my system and the issue persists.

Little heads-up, it appears that there’s been a security breach with Nintendo accounts recently.

I highly recommend activating 2-Factor Authentication, unlink any payment options, check your account’s login activity, and change your password in other services that might have shared it, maybe even also change the Nintendo one if you want to be sure. Anyway, stay safe!

btw, for an Authenticator app, I’d advise you to use Authy instead of Google Authenticator.

Something to note is that NNIDs are still separate from Nintendo accounts, even if they are linked.
So make sure to change your NNID password as well just in case.
 
I hope this is not true. 2FA could be a major hassle with Nintendo if a phone is lost.

 
I had to activate 2 factor authentication a couple days ago after getting e-mails about nintendo sign-ins that weren’t me. Password change alone didn’t seem to do the trick. 2FA hopefully has helped. And yes, it’s a pain to set up.

Authy and I believe Microsoft Authenticator both use accounts you can recover your 2FA tokens from in that case. Google’s authenticator (the one most sites recommend by default) doesn’t and is a pain in the ass in general.

Nintendo Japan acknowledged on Twitter that something was going on with irregular login attempts, but Europe and America have been playing dumb and just nudging people to turn on 2FA on Twitter and the in-console news app.

I am glad I bought the Picross S games. I'm going through the first and it's really fun, even though the items the puzzle makes can be kind of ugly honestly. I hadn't done Mega Picross before and it racks the brain. Makes me feel pretty awesome when I finish puzzles though. Well worth the money and I haven't even gotten to the better ones with more features.

Personally I use the Microsoft Authenticator app, as it has an option for iCloud backup. I use 2FA for pretty much any website that includes it as an option, and I did not want to have to set up a brand new Authenticator app if my phone ever dies or I lose access to it. Having to sign into 20+ websites, using the "one time codes" to gain access, turning off 2FA, turning it back on with another Authenticator app, sounds like a major PITA. With the iCloud backup I should be able to just redownload the Microsoft Authenticator app on a new phone, sign in, and boom, all my codes are back.

 
Is the WWE game for Switch still awful, or did they patch it to the point where it's respectable? Here in 2020, terrible WWE games are just the status quo, but it would nevertheless be nice to have a halfway decent handheld wrestling game without having to dig out my Game Boy Advance and a copy of Fire Pro Wrestling.
