I got five stars a couple weeks ago and it was incredibly easy. Just through my normal decorating of my island I was at 4 stars and then I checked in with Isabelle twice to see what the complaints were and that took me like 5 minutes to fix and get me to 5.

I had over 100 tarantulas and hit 5 stars. I sold them and dropped to 3 stars.

One of the ways to "decorate" your island is to just place pans everywhere. I stuck a dozen behind a cliff and that shot me back to 5 stars after a week of actually trying to decorate.

Just hit the 5 star rating thanks to a Reddit tip. I put all my bunny day items out of site behind every building that I could. Then with the room I had left behind the museum I put dressers and tables.

Animal Crossing’s internal system for scoring your island uses 8x8 chunks. Any repeated items or types within the same 8x8 space will give you almost no additional progress toward the upgrade. If you customize items they count as different but still the same type so it’s really not worth repeating. You mainly just want a variety of DIY, Nook Miles items, and then flowers, trees, and fences. Trees have like a 150 or something cap, but you can have a lot. Flowers and fences have no cap so plant and build away. More expensive items give you more progress. My wife bought and built a bunch of stuff and then just placed the items, counted 8 blocks, placed the items, and just repeat. Whichever thing you need the most Isabelle will tell you.

^ I haven't researched scores, but I got 5 stars back after my aforementioned row of pans, and this was after getting rid of a lot of flowers, and having huge empty fields cleared for terraforming. So I feel like it's not that important to keep to the 8x8.

This murder by numbers game is great not. It’s a slog to get through the first case and I keep telling myself I have to beat the first before I can quit to get my $14.99 worst. The picross is ok but nothing special.

I grabbed the 2k19 version last year for 3 bucks, and played the Mycareer/story Mode. Nice story and good matches that took me around 3hs to finish, it was worth it to me. They say the Story Mode in 2k20 is the best one yet, so I might do the same. I have payed more for lesser experiences XD

As someone that has played every one for 20 years here is my take.
The my career mode is the best yet. The daily challenges are cool and the story is actually really good. This is also the first one in a while where your player gets pretty good quickly and you don’t need to do micro transactions to get decent. You still can but it’s not required.

They absolutely butchered the franchise mode. They put in a new system where you can only do a few actions a week. It’s supposed to be more realistic but what it ends up is something that you can do micro transactions to get around

Overall if you have 2k19 and don’t have an interest in my career mode it’s not worth it.

Not sure if anybody mentioned.it, but the Mario and Rabbids RPG game is only $15, or $20 with all of the dlc included. Probably the best deal that you will get on a Mario game on the Switch that isn't a sports game, or included in the NES and SNES games included with online.

IThe production value is very high and agreed that you aren't going to find higher production value at this price point. Despite having all of the Mario universe characters in it and being set in a distorted version of the Mario world, it definitely doesn't feel like a Mario game and much more like a Rabbids game.

It's a fun and funny strategy game and yet it's accessible enough that my kid (under 10) could enjoy it and okay it by himself after helping him understand the game in the first few levels. I recommend it highly

Anyone know the cheapest foreign price for Mario + Rabbids Gold?

Standard game is $1.13 cheaper in Mexico, so probably cheaper for Gold there as well. (Gold isn't listed and my account isn't setup for Mexico ATM so can't check)

There's a Nicalis sale with 50% off a number of games. Umihara Kawase Fresh is included at $19.99. A sequel is launching next week called Umihara Kawase Bazooka. It's a competitive version of Umihara Kawase gameplay with a number of characters. Both are launching on Steam next week published by the actual Japanese developers SUCCESS Corp. and Studio Saizensen if you aren't a Nicalis fan.

I thought I was mostly done with buying 3DS games, but might try some of the Sonic titles despite mixed reviews.

The 3D Sonic 1&2 have pretty much been superseded by the Switch versions of the games.

Sonic Generations is more like Sonic Rush.

Lost World is actually 3D and controls much like the Wii U/PC version. There's dumb parts where you have to do a kick attack to stun an enemy to attack.

No opinion on the Boom games.

Yeah, but they’re not 3D.

That’s an actual complaint, M2 did a great job implementing stereoscopic 3D effects in the Sega 3D Classics line.

(Also they’re not the vastly superior Christian Whitehead versions, what the hell, Sega, port those to non-mobile platforms.)

I did the same thing a few years ago... Once the backlog went over 300 games, I stopped checking because it was just so overwhelming. Now I think of my game collection as more of a library. I'll never play every game in the collection, but if I feel like having a certain kind of experience, I can pull the game of the shelf (or download from Steam or whatever) and give it a go.

My backlog is incompletely logged...though may be close to complete with Steam games, PS1-PS2 games on Howlongtobeat and it's quite big. I just do it as a habit now, but I have been cleaning it out a bit at least heh.

I can only speak for Trine 1 and 2, but I really enjoyed them both. I hear 3 is bad, but 4 looks pretty good?

I can see the Switch version being really good if you can use the touchscreen for creating Wizard items. It was done with a mouse in the original PC version, not sure how well that translated to a controller.

I only compiled my physical games and I am currently at 991 hrs to complete them all. And I just bought a Persona 5 Royal Steelbook lol. I feel like this will help me knock them out. Organize the shorter games etc
