I've only got Pears (native), peaches (random NMT islands) and coconuts. I've probably used 100 NMT trying to find other fruit. It's pretty frustrating.

It's neat but very short (1 hour...). Only 6 levels and 1-hit-deaths. You're basically memorizing the level to beat it. Gamestop sells a collectors edition that is $15 right now, but has been as cheap as $10. It's amazing!

If there's a lot of stock in your area you should wait until Gamestop puts it on sale again.

I grabbed it while we were in Walmart about 2 weeks ago. Haven’t been able to play it because my kids have broken one of their joy cons. I was able to catch a restock on joycons from Target last week.

I wasn't clear on the other sources, they include friends or letters from your Mom in game. So if you wait long enough, Mom might send you all of them.

So you have

- Native Fruit

- 1 Fruit from NMT (your native and first NMT fruit will be all you'll ever see on NMT trips)

- Remaining fruit from Mom or friends.

I think I’m good on fruit now. Daisydog helped me out last night- I now have oranges, peaches, pears, coconuts, cherries, and apples. Is that all of the fruit?
 
Burnout Paradise got some of my attention this weekend.  I was pleasantly surprised everything was on the cart with no update needed at launch.  The game looks and runs perfectly well.  Since I never played this before, I'm having to memorize the map.  I don't know if the special cars that look like the BTTF Delorean, Ecto 1, and other cars and motorcycles were part of the base game or dlc before, but you get them at the start of the game.  Other cars unlock at a pretty good pace.  It did throw me that the first few cars though don't drift much at all... but later cars have drifting.

I know I could get it cheaper elsewhere, but having it on switch and being able to undock and play it has been great.  We have so few solid arcade racing games with cars and normal looking locations, and this seems like a pure premium experience rather than another mobile port.  For those that are interested... it's a pretty safe purchase.  I don't blame anyone that wants to wait for black friday (if we get one this year)... or for a sale.. or hates EA enough to never buy their games... but this to me was the one exception as there are so few good racing games.

The online side uses EA's servers so you need an account (free) if you want to take advantage of that.  Once it's linked up... it doesn't appear you need Nintendo Online at all (which I don't have).  So another plus.

You get one fruit and a sister fruit. Sister fruit is based on your main fruit and birthday, or something like that.

I played with about 10-15 different people, so getting stuff was really easy, and someone always had a turnip spike.

Turnip Prophet is more accurate, as someone who used both at the same time for the first few weeks.

I have all flower hybrids and all fruits, etc, if people really want some.

I want to but since many of the reviews coming in are mediocre I may wait until it's available used. But then again I'm someone who enjoyed Nickelodeon Kart Racers (for what it was) and I'm looking forward to the recently announced sequel.

Yeah, my son has been playing the original for years, and to be honest, it is a beyond shitty game IMO, as every-time I ever played it, I couldn't stand it. When "re-hydrated" was announced, my 1st and only question was why? I guess for a licensed game it could have been worse, but it is far from anything I would call enjoyable, and I'm a fan of SB. So while this reboot may look good, based on the reviews I've seen, they did nothing to improve the janky game that lies beneath.

My son was actually surprised by all the negative reviews we saw on YT yesterday, and I'm like why are you surprised? This is what I've been telling you about this game since you first started playing it. LOL

The Switch port supposedly has extra problems but 2/10 is way too harsh. I think the reviewer just got frustrated with the game due to lack of skill. Happened with Tropical Freeze's GameSpot review too iirc. IGN's review is closer to the mark, which is still a shame. Real case of wasted potential.

I'd suggest waiting until it's dirt cheap like their other games on Switch and the other versions on PS4/XB1/PC.

The main thing here is if you want it physical... this may not remain available long enough for it to drop much in price. It could easily become another skyrim situation where outside of a black friday deal... it's remained near retail. Additionally this version has all the content on the actual cartridge and doesn't require a day 1 patch which makes it 1000x more attractive than much of the other older 3rd party games ported to switch.

BTW, I got mine from walmart. It was $42.88... so not a huge savings, but it was something. I don't buy many games ... so getting something I 100% want at launch was well worth it.

It's like every single other open world game where you get to drive cars... memorizing the map is part of the game. Even though they let you hit the minus key at any time to look at the map and give you a mini map with a way point for the current race/event. After about 4 hours I was beginning to get a feel for where things were as I had already climbed several licenses worth of events. But it's just like GTA or any other open world game with cars... memorizing where things are is part of the experience. And this is just the main game... there's still big surf island (i'm saving that for much later).

Legends (PSP) and Takedown are my favorite Burnout games.

Question for BotW experts:

No matter how many games I seem to own, BotW is the only thing I play before bed. I'd been thinking that I would buy the expansion pass either after I beat it or earlier if it goes on sale, but now I think waiting for a sale on the expansion pass is pointless.

So, in gameplay terms: when is the right time to buy the BotW expansion? I've been playing for countless hours and just meandering through the world. I've only bothered to free two of the Beasts, but have opened every fairy, upgraded tons of armor, lots of slots, have the master swotd etc.

Given you already know you like the game, you should probably get it sooner rather than later. There’s a bunch of little things and quality of life tweaks included beside the main DLC content that you’ll appreciate more now that you’re going through the game than when you’re in the late- or post-game.

Get it now. You're right not to wait for a discount. I'm not sure if it ever has been discounted in the past and I highly doubt it ever will be in the future. Some of the DLC should have been unlocked after you beat the game IMO but it's worth it. I'm not sure if you have researched what you get or not so I don't want to spoil anything but I will state that you get stuff that will make finding things easier.
 
Does anybody know the time that we should expect Ninjala to release tomorrow? It's like a free to play Ninja combat game with an art style similar to Splatoon. You can also pay real money for the single player mode, and some microtransactions.

I'm vaguely aware of what is unlocked in the update. The bike seems cool but I worry that it might make traveling too easy. I have this weird sort of thing that I don't want to be "cheating" in the game and want to have the correct experience. I imagine never riding a horse again might be a drag. I also don't want the game to end...

I've considered taking a trip to South America to buy it for less, but I've never managed to get that set up properly and I'm too much of a lazy goody two shoes these days that the amount of hassle relative to the savings is just right such that I deem it not worth the hassle.

I'm fairly certain Target did a 10% off all DLC/Download cards deal as a deal leading up to Black Friday last year. Target did a similar style sale a couple one other time last year but I don't think they've done such a sale this year yet. Anyway, I believe I recall people mentioning at the time it was the only time(s) that DLC had ever actually been discounted. Nintendo doesn't really discount DLC like other companies do.

There was also a week where Target did put digital downloads for sale. Not sure if it was in-store only, but that's how I got Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion for 20% off. A quick check on my email receipts...happened near the end of August 2019.
