End of the month reminder; check your expiring My Nintendo coins.

This is tough for me. I don't have a Wii U or a Switch, and I already have pretty much all the 3DS games I want. I don't play any of the mobile games either, so there's just nothing for me to spend my coins on.

Slain Back From Hell is on sale for $6.70
I didn't see it on your list, it's usually $19.99

Nvm, looks like you just posted an update.......

I'm tempted to get antiquia lost. However, I'm wondering if there will be a limited run game release like they did for PS4.
Also tempted, but i doubt there will be a LRG release... besides it would be $30+ and be 4-6 months before you get it.
Announce, wait for pre orders to start, wait for the pre order time period to end... wait for the actual print... or pay $9 and play now.

Watched a few reviews, still on the fence. I want to like it.. watching the gameplay is kinda telling me to walk away at times.

So torn, do I buy Pixel Junk Monsters 2 on Switch and enjoy it on the new system and mobile or go with the old mainstay ps4? And no one say buy it on all of them.
I had a hard time choosing because in docked mode, the Switch version runs and looks like ass compared to the ps4 version. The fps is halved and isn't even stable at that (not super stable on ps4 either but far less noticeable)

Chose Switch because this is an on-the-go game at heart but the option to dock it for co-op is cool too.

Now, if they made a Vita version and made it cross-buy...ps4 all the way. Sadly I don't think it would even be able to run it.

Don’t know if this has been posted but if you pre-purchase Mario Tennis you’ll get an additional 300 points for a total of 600. So, basically like getting $6 back. I hope this type of incentive becomes a regular thing.

To boot, we should always be sure to stock up on those cheap eshop cards e.g. 100 for 80 because that makes it akin to its own GCU discount when buying MSRP, as 1st party downloads hardly ever drop.

Might as well pick them up at launch; 20% discount plus the $6 credit? I'm in.

I'm sorry but I have to add: Art of Balance Touch came out in fucking 2012 and all they manage to do is knock 25% off? These eshop sales are insulting.

And where are you getting 20% off eshop cards exactly? Cause as a person who actively looks for discounted eshop cards, I haven't seen that discount amount for a long time.

Mario Tennis Aces Pre-launch Online Tournament demo event will run from Friday, 6/1 [6 p.m. PT] – Sunday, 6/3 [11:59 p.m. PT]

Also, receive a bonus of 300 My Nintendo Gold Points when you pre-purchase the digital version of the Mario Tennis Aces game through Nintendo eShop or Nintendo.com (where available). Offer starts 6/1 at 5:00 a.m. ET and ends 6/21 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

*Demo save data required to unlock Mario’s classic outfit in the full version of the game, once purchased.

I bought about $200 worth at 20% off from Walmart using Google Express, but eShop cards seems to have been removed.

There's also an amex offer for $15 off $30 at Sam's club.

Finally, PayPal has regular 15% off deals.

I was just watching some people play the demo in Japan on YouTube and the game looks very fun. I think I am going to pick it up.

Yeah getting 15% off isn't hard to find. The question is how to get 20% off. That Google Express deal, even if it still worked on eshop cards, it is for NEW customers only. So that is a one time use thing at most. But I do appreciate you trying to help. Thanks

No problem. I believe there was a 20% off coupon for existing customers earlier this year. Also, u have like 4 Google Express accounts.

Checking the Switch sales this morning and saw that

Membrane was on sale for $4.99

Picked that up this morning.
I was interested in it when it launched so this is a great price.
Game has a great soundtrack.

Any rhythm game fans have an opinion on those Frederic games?...YouTube is proving unhelpful
I've played them on iOS. Gameplay is very solid once you understand all the things specific to these games. I think where the games shine the most is the story. I'd easily compare it to Gitaroo Man (PS2/PSP), Parappa & Um Jammer Lammy in how the story progresses. There are cut scenes between levels and even during a song the background is fully animated through. My suggestion? If you are big into rhythm games, buy the first one and try it out. I've watched a youtube video that reviewed the first game on Switch and one thing I have to say coming away from that is that while the physical control options look serviceable, there are things they don't cover like when you get one of the gold notes that float up, on touch screen mode you can swipe these (and you need to do that when chasing high scores) but with physical controls it's not clear if there even is an option for these. Also I don't understand how they are handling the swipe notes. Thankfully the game seems to have the full touch screen controls in place, so that's how I'd suggest playing. If you hate touch screen music games... then it's probably still worth it... but you may be somewhat handicapped.

Final thoughts? The first game, I still think very fondly of it as the story is just so charming and over the top. Again, I'd compare it to Gitaroo Man, Parappa, and even Elite Beat Agents. It's cheesy, but the good kind of laugh out loud cheese. I'd recommend it to anyone that loves the genre and especially story based music games. These sale prices make it that much easier to recommend. The second game, I honestly haven't put enough time into it. When it came out my days following iOS games was coming to an end as I was getting more screen time with my other handhelds and consoles. What I remember is that the story is even more wacky than the first game. Had Cytus 2 not come out I probably would not even be playing iOS games. That to me is my favorite rhythm game series of them ALL.

Its been a long time since I ran into another Gitaroo Man fan, nice! Thanks for the thorough rundown, I'm going to get the first game and see how it goes and if I like it I'll pull the trigger on the second.

Those of you who backed Bloodstained and are waiting for your Curse of the moon codes, check your backer survey. I just checked mine tonight and my code for the switch version was there.

Not feeling it. Nothing can top Virtua Tennis for me.
Yeah, I haven't played this latest, but I may give it a go this weekend, as my son download that demo a few days ago. Sadly, if you've played one Mario Tennis, you've played them all, just like Mario Kart or Mario Golf(so I'm not expecting anything amazing). You sometimes get some decent steps forward, but some titles take a few back. For games that are pretty much cookie cutter creations, they should really do more, but I gave up on that ages ago.

They are all cash grabs that sell on name mostly, without much work done on the creative side. But many don't care, and anything with "Mario" on the box is guaranteed a certain level of sales, and that's what's banked on. If and when I buy any of these titles, it's always at $20 and under, which they should cost when first offered.

I’m not a sports person and tend to avoid most sports games except golf, but decided to give mario tennis aces a try. I haven’t played any previous entries in the tennis series, but so far I’ve been enjoying it more than I thought I would. Sure, it’s tennis with all the basic tennis rules, but the energy meter that allows for focus shots, special moves, and slowing time add a nice strategy that can instantly flip a match. It feels pretty good blocking an opponents special attack on their match point. And just as humiliating to break your racket and get a KO loss.
I’m very tempted to pick it up, but my history with sports games will have me play it off an on for a month and then forget it. Maybe I’ll pick it up when it goes on sale in 5yrs since it’s a first party title.

These games are brilliant for those who aren't sports fans, as they keep the basic sports elements, but also add in things to draw those who may not like a particular sport. Having not played any past games is also a plus in your favor, as there is nothing wrong with any of these games, but for anyone who has played most of the past titles, there just ins't anything "new" enough to warrant a full retail buy.

I just played the demo. It's interesting and I like it so far. Once I get the controls and just get used to the game, I'm sure I will get better. So far, I've only won 1 out of 3 lol.
I can crush people in Mario kart , but as of right now I'm getting stomped in Mario tennis aces.

I didn't expect to be in the minority here but I am absolutely loving Aces. Granted I am an actual tennis player so I am a little biased but it plays great. Plus watching all previews the campaign looks awesome. I can't wait for the full game.

I'm right there with you, I'm loving it. Day one buy now for me. I'm destroying some people online but then as I get farther down the tournament I get destroyed by people with like 10,000 points already and I feel like people with chain chomp are just unbeatable but I'm still having a great time with it.

I played a lot of Mario tennis on the GameCube and 64 and I think it controls pretty similarly to the GameCube version so not much of a learning curve for me. Never played the Wii u one so not sure how it compares to that one.

as a tennis player, do you enjoy joy con motion controls? Are they accurate at all ?

Only thing I didn’t love is the super shot .... too much of an advantage on top of a lucky or trick shot or slow down...,

Also, the hbo Serena series is great, if you’re a fan of hers. I love her...

Honestly I've been traveling this week so I've only played in handheld mode so far unfortunately! I look forward to having the time and space to try out the motion controls with the full release.

Your right, gyroscopic only....thats crazy!!! Still not bad, i dont know, i think Wii style controls would make me get it , especially around $20-30 price point

The full release will have a motion only mode. I was hoping to test them out as well, but these events are mainly for Nintendo to test their servers. Online servers, not tennis servers. :p

Seems like they added a Featured section to the eShop, so they can now promote games that aren't brand new or on sale. Still no sorting options, but it's a start. The webstore hasn't changed at all.
I think they had to do something because discounting your brand new game was the only way to get your game on at least one page after being buried by the next weeks releases.

When do the weekly eShop sales usually start? I was thinking today around noon but only have seen two games go on sale (Has Been Heroes and Jack party game)

Finally bought a Switch yesterday with the 20% off eBay code. Just got South Park and Mario+Rabbids from the Target BOGO. Looking forward to downloading Golf Story. Glad to finally be getting the Switch I've wanted for ages.
