It’s a fighting game that can be played without taking itself too seriously. Multiple friends can play in the same room at the same time. It involves tons of characters from many beloved franchises.

Those add up to why many people are fans.
Isn't the main reason people like Smash Bros because it lets them be dicks to their friends?

well that was disappointing...deals that have been offered ocuntless times before and old ass games like Sticker Star are "only" $30

Get over yourselves, Nintendo.
Every Nintendo game on Switch that is on sale has not been on sale before along with a bunch of others that have their first sale or has been on sale maybe once before, which is great for its first big sale.

-- Axiom Verge was $18 way back in March EDIT EDIT: AND fuckING $14 in FEBRUARY - so they increased the price a while back to boot!- https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-switch-sale-last-chance-for-these-eshop-g/1100-6456832/

-- Jackbox 4 was the same price in early May as 3 is now...the logic being?

-- LA Noire was $37 in April, meaning it's more expensive now xD

For many of those instances, the difference is in cents; Darkest Dungeon is like 87 cents lower than it was 3 months ago. Hardly applaudable. But mostly, my point was to say my god Nintendo keeps old games incredibly overpriced (edit: also, critically underwhelming) on the eShop, especially compared to their competition on literally every other platform.

Yeah I'm going to say in full confidence after having done the research, most of these deals are hot garbage. And no, these, without a shadow of doubt based on sourced evidence above, are absolutely NOT the best deals Nintendo has had to offer. The torch carrying needs to stop.

EDIT: Dude, are you just guessing or did you actually do some research? This is what I found at a glance. Do you own Nintendo stock?

He said Nintendo games. As in, Breath of the Wild, Fire Emblem Warriors, Splatoon 2, etc.

Not Mario + Rabbids, though. That's Ubisoft.

True. I just felt his response undermined my entire point, that this sale is mostly horrible. Games like Sticker Star and Star Fox 3D (Nintendo games!) should not be $30 still. Many other indies have actually had their prices go up. It just felt like a vanilla coporate response from Tanuki, as if to ignore the entire basis of my sentiments.

Not much to do with anything but I must point out, Mario + Rabbids is as much Nintendo as Fire Emblem Warriors is.

Trying to argue that Nintendo isn't the second coming of Jesus Christ is probably not wise in this thread. Any critisism of Nintendo will usher an attack by a bunch of white knights on this thread.

It’s a fighting game that can be played without taking itself too seriously. Multiple friends can play in the same room at the same time. It involves tons of characters from many beloved franchises.

Those add up to why many people are fans.

Thank you sir, first for actually reading what I wrote and second for a simple useful response.
You seriously needed that explained to you? It's like being extremely confused as to why shit tastes horrible and then needing someone to explain it.

Well that's sad because Nintendo is easily my favorite gaming company. That's exactly why I rail on them when they're being dicks. When Sony or Steam are being dicks, I just laugh because it's expected of them.

It was moreso undermining your point that the deals had "been offered ocuntless times before" (nice Freudian typo there, btw), which simply wasn't true. They're still not the best prices (I literally laughed out loud when I saw the "sale" price for Axiom Verge), but saying they're the same old thing is incorrect.

Also, I saw your post about these not being the best prices so far for the games before you removed it, so there's technically that, too.

EDIT: Dude, are you just guessing or did you actually do some research? This is what I found at a glance. Do you own Nintendo stock?

Sorry, I forgot that you're a troll with nothing to ever add to any discussion. You literally just ignored everything I said so you can display your fake outrage to make yourself look like Mr. Internet Tough Guy.

Every Nintendo game on Switch that is on sale has not been on sale
Fire Emblem Warriors

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Splatoon 2

Show me where those have been on sale on the eShop (NA) before. Sources, please.

along with a bunch of others that have their first sale
Fe

Gorogoa

MXGP3: The Official Motocross Videogame

Night in the Woods

Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

There's one or two others that don't seem to be on there yet, but the same applies to the previous list. Tell me where those were on sale on the eShop (NA) before.

or has been on sale maybe once before
Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch

Golf Story

Puyo Puyo Tetris (technically twice, but I'll make that one excuse)

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers

Again, I'll wait for sources that these have been on sale a bunch of times before on the eShop (NA) and include those sources, please.

You've got one chance to disprove all of this or you go on the ignore list where you belong. Have fun.

Just to be clear, I never said these sales are the greatest to have ever existed or anything like that, but for a Nintendo Switch eShop sale where things of note are far and few between, this is a great one when we've had maybe two Nintendo Switch games ever go on sale in the first 15 months and those were Arms and 1,2 Switch.

I wanted Axiom but missed the previous sale and this new price sucks balls. Especially since this will be a double dip.

You literally just ignored everything I said
This is exactly what you did in your original response. This is what happened. Feel free to review:

My post: "This sale sucks. Many sales are the same or worse than before. And old Nintendo games like Paper Mario SS are still $30 which is awful"

Your response: "Wrong. there are Nintendo games that are on sale for the first time."

As in, your reponse really has nothing to do with what I said, but was a mere desperate attempt to defend eShop.

My posts get a quite a few likes because they indeed do add to the discussion; launching that fallacy of an accusation doesn't make it untrue.

Your job is to post here about eSHop, giving you an inevitable bias to defend it. Therefore, nothing really productive can come out of it. Keep that torch lit.

Nowhere am I saying Nintendo's some perfect entity that has amazing sales that cannot be beat by anybody else. I've been critical of them a number of times, so it's probably not a good idea to suggest I'm some apologist because that's just factually wrong.

In other circumstances I might not mind adding fuel to this kind of slap fight, but today I'm honestly curious, so keep your edicks in your pants, boys.

Has OoT 3D ever been cheaper digitally? I used the search function on this thread and didn't turn any direct evidence up, but found an oblique reference to it being 50% off at some point that I couldn't find when I tried clicking on it.

I'm talking about right here and now, not the past. You undermining my general point that most of this sale is bad, followed by concrete evidence, is all I'm focused on at the moment. Your past posts don't erase that.

Also, pretty sure you just said all my posts are troll posts that dont add anything, which is factually wrong. Stop contradicting yourself.

All I can say is that it absolutely was 50% off at least a couple years ago. I've been looking for eshop price trackers for a while, and nothing really suffices. All you can really do is type 3ds eshop sale into google and search by time.

Just skimming through the last few posts.... this part isnt the first time.
Misreading posts is kind of a feature.

No, I was responding to your post about not liking the sale at all because of all of the repeats and just pointing out that there are a number of games that are on sale for the first time, which is great for a Switch sale that are usually not that noteworthy. Then you just attacked me, calling me a blind Nintendo fanboy, corporate apologist, and whatever other dumb thing you've come up with to attack me for no reason. That's just the sort of thing that trolls would do.

My job is not to post eShop deals here. That is just dehumanizing drivel suggesting I have no worth than to post links and such for your amusement.

I do like the physical cartridges for the switch, and there's some really tempting sales right now. I already own the splatoon2 and Mario +rabbids cartridge, but would like to get the gold edition and the regular digital copy of splatoon2 if I could either find a decent trade or sell those two before the sales ends. Oh the choices lol.

Picked up Subsurface Circular heard good things (and it's by the Thomas Was Alone guy(s)) and that $1.50 off put me over the edge.

Bought Blossom Tales and Night in the Woods. Thanks for recommendations! I also grabbed Ittle Dew 2+ from GameStop for $20, seems good so far, but it's only supposed to be 5-6 hours long.

I don't comment much anymore, but many thanks to Frisky for keeping me up to date with these Nintendo deals. I appreciate it!

As for you know who, all you're attempting to add to the conversation is negativity. Maybe just don't?

I bought Gorgoa and Night in the Woods from this sale and contemplating buying Blossom Tales and Football Manager. Has anyone played Football Manager? I watched review videos and still not sure if I will enjoy it.

While i do appriciate friskys deal posts..
telling everyone to just put up with being misquoted, misrepresented, and generaly frowned on for responding to having both done to you... again proves my point.

(You can only post positiveity, but dont dare disagree or point out someone when they screw up.. and having an opinion? Dont dare think for yourself.)

Yup this is not a thread for dissenting views. Frisky cannot be criticized either. Y'all should know better.

I liked ittle dew 2, I spent about 10 hours with it doing bonus dungeon and post game stuff. Were the loading times patched? I remember those be horrendous every time you entered a cave or building.

Concrete evidence. Right. You posted evidence that a grand total of three games have either gone up in price or been the same price for more, and complaining that a couple other games only went down a little, and that somehow becomes "most" of the sale. You also ignored the list of more than three games Frisky posted in response, because clearly only your evidence counts.

You originally came in here complaining about the sale being "deals that have been offered ocuntless times before" (again, sincerely love that typo) despite there being several new deals in the mix. That's what was being replied to. Not that the prices are bad, because you're not completely wrong about that part (yes, Sticker Star for anything above $5-10 is ridiculous). So you can stop bringing that up as if it's the only thing you said, because it's not. Then, when somebody points that out, you ignore most of their post and pick out only a few words to reply to so you can keep going.

And before you reply with "But that's what you did to my post, so fair is fair!", the difference is that I acknowledge that you said it, that's just not the part of your post that's relevant here. You, on the other hand, act like the entire rest of the post you're replying to doesn't even exist. See my earlier post pointing out where I'd already answered your question before you even asked it. Do you think that not seeing something means that it never happened? Is that why you keep deleting your posts?

Also, considering the one and only thing you ever do in any thread I see you in is complain even more than chrislaustin, yeah, you really don't add anything. Well, not anything worthwhile, anyway.

It's funny because this is exactly what the other guy's doing.

Now, for something more on topic:

Has anybody tried that Pac-Man Switch game before? If so, how is it?
I haven't played the Switch version of Champion Edition 2 but did on the PS4 and while fun I still prefer the first, this one seemed too gimmicky, not sure if that's the best way to explain it. Leaderboards were still broken with hackers holding the top spots.

Does anyone have input on Fifa 18? Tempted but thinking that with Fifa 19 soon the price will tank or maybe 19 will have more features.

I would hold off on FIFA unless you really want the World Cup update for this summer. I mean, it's only $20 but that's $20 you could put towards getting FIFA 19 on day one. They'll definitely have improvements to their engine and be better optimized for the Switch now that they've had more time.

But it's the World Cup update. If you're a soccer fan how the hell do you pass on that????

Yeah, but if that's what you're looking for, then getting Fifa wouldn't be a debate. You would already gotten it.

And Spain just tied it up as I'm typing this

With the current sale, I think I may trade my physical Breath of the Wild at GS for currency, and use that to get the digital version.  Looks like with the 40% bonus I'd only be out $10.

Just to make sure, are there any better deals to convert from physical to digital?

That's the exact same thing I have been trying to figure out.

Just spent 75 minutes playing it. Almost gave up in the second dungeon, but decided to explore and now I'm through dungeon 3 already. The load times are not great, but they are not as long as I think you're suggesting.

40% bonus?

I'm not a GS kinda guy... so i'm missing something here lol. GS/BB I can get about $30 for my copy, $45 on sale digital.. Would be paying more for the game in the end than retail ($48 w/GCU+$15 now) just to have it digitally instead. Granted I do have the season pass I got for free... Don't ask, lets just say GS is full of idiots that can't count.

I'm kinda tempted.. but I also kinda want to have the physical copy.

Just wanted to double check on which game you are referring to getting the $30 trade credit for and what promo or store.

Edit: re: Ittle Dew 2+
I think it just added up over the course of the game and made it feel longer by the end. These types of games I don't really expect load times like that, but don't get me wrong I enjoyed the game and recommend people play it.
