These are just this week's regular sales.

The big sale starts next week.
Thanks for that, I checked out that link and was scratching my head as the sales were all stuff we already knew about. At least I'm set up for next week. Hopefully they have some good stuff for 3DS.

that's what they call the uber service in San Fransisco

it just means happy driver. Don't be such a SJW
lol hate speech
This backlash toward common decency is really too much. Are you that deeply terrified of being wrong or questioned that anyone who tells you to be nice is an "SJW"? Thanks for making all gamers look like a-holes. Gaming is not an exclusive club. There are all kinds of folks who are gamers, and I wonder why it's so difficult to look at things from their perspective and realize that terms like "uber gay" might be offensive to someone who is gay. No one is going to take away your booby games or shooty games. Calm the inner-child, relax, and realize there are all kinds of people here, and it makes gaming better.

Nintendo has treated the N.A. market "lighthearted and carefree" to a very "supreme" level for far too long.  If they just cared and were serious, we wouldn't be dealing with this horrible mess they have made of what was my favorite game company for a good 25 years.  Then again, Nintendo has been making a lot of boneheaded (sorry to those with extra hard skulls) decisions starting with the N64 and VirtualBoy.  Granted I enjoyed some games on the N64 (which were far overpriced due to cartridges) and thought the GC was excellent and loved the handheld systems through the DS... it is easy to see how they continually cripple (sorry to those who are crippled) themselves every step of the way with hardware limits.  The Wii was a fluke because it got the attention of non-gamers (much like the DS with the puzzle games attracted older people).  But while that market brought in some good money, it's is a very fickle one to try and target because... again... they are non-gamers.   Heck my parents had a wii and ds's... they moved on to Apple devices.   I wonder how many more years we will have to wait for Nintendo to get with the times and provide a store environment at least on par with what the PS3 and later life PSP had?  Where you buy games on the store and they are tied to an account and not tied to a specific piece of hardware.  Where you can replace a stolen or broken system easily because you just delist it from the active systems and add the new one in.   Nintendo is still sooooo backwards to modern gaming.  And will they ever make a platform that is on par hardware wise with the competition?  Probably they will go the way of Sega first.  Which is sad as Sega was easily my second favorite company until the end of the DC and the last of their great games came out on PS2/Xbox/GC.

Anyway, the orientation card didn't need to be thrown.  Maybe there was a better way to phrase that, but the definition of the words does fit the description.   Things don't have to be taken as an attack when they aren't even directed at an actual person.  Calling someone a name, that's one thing.  Calling a companies actions something, well, the company is just an entity without any kind of gender.  So, we shouldn't really assign gender roles to a company, even Nintendo.

Thanks for the links. The few images of the new Zelda game are nice. That could get me more amped for Nintendo stuff again. I'm most hyped about "Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past" being shown. That is a game I will have no issue buying at or near release.

The first link doesn't tell me a damn thing. I'm guessing it's time locked.
It does cover the date of the sale and stuff (Scroll around). But no details until that date on what actually is on sale.

These are just this week's regular sales.

The big sale starts next week.
There was some commentary that folks were curious if there would be a sale like the European sale starting today, in addition to the sale starting next week which Nintendo has announced. My message was just saying that the sale like the European sale was not starting today, based on what the Nintendo Life announcement mentioned.

Reminder, there will be an E3 sale on the eShops on Tuesday, 6/14 at 2 PM ET. My Nintendo members get a special bonus.

Just downloaded the demo for Witch & Hero as well as the sequel today.  So good timing there.  If I like it, I'll buy it even though 30% off isn't exactly a huge savings on such a cheap game.  Is The Legend of Dark Witch any good?  Looks interesting.

There was some commentary that folks were curious if there would be a sale like the European sale starting today, in addition to the sale starting next week which Nintendo has announced. My message was just saying that the sale like the European sale was not starting today, based on what the Nintendo Life announcement mentioned.
I guess putting the info in the title of the thread wasn't enough to help spread the word. :whistle2:(

Dark Witch is fantastic. It's a platformer very reminiscent of Mega Man, with some elements of a bullet hell thrown in. Defeat bosses to gain their powers (and each boss has a weakness), gain permanent Stat and weapon upgrades as well as temporary upgrades in each individual run, find hidden items in each level, and go for speedruns and achievements and play minigames.

The characters are all fun and enjoyable, and the sequel is even better than the first in most aspects.

Looks like the E3 sale will go up to an unprecedented 40% discount on the included titles:

Just too bad a great deal of us already have most first party games (the ones we would be interested in, at least).

That's a problem with Nintendo's current reward strategy. It's supposed to reward us with free or largely discounted games, which in itself is a great thing. But problem is that most of the people who would be using My Nintendo are their most loyal fans - those who would gladly have already bought those games. If you've been around long enough, it starts to feel like the more you buy, the less you're rewarded.

agreed

so far my nintendo hasn't had any value for me. I'm sure things will improve for NXers but it would be nice if it was more directed toward the loyal folks of the wii u

Maybe it's a good idea to wait until the sale is live before complaining about the games that are in it?

I'm speaking generally here; and what I said is true regardless of what goes on sale. I'm sure there will be some good third party or eshop exclusive games to get, but a lot of us are already set as far as big name Nintendo games go.

And I thought I was being pretty civil, and not just "complaining."

Great, this will either earn me discounts on things I already own, put things I already got (and thus make me regret getting on the eShop after a few drinks), or be on things I don't want.

Man, I am a bundle of optimism today....

Or as usual the worst game or one that has been on sale every other sale will be 40% off and everything else will be 20% tops.

I haven't even sign up yet, as I'm just not to involved much in anything "N" related as of late. Dealing with anything they seem to be a part of lately just brings me down, or pisses me off.

I think a group of monkeys and a dart board could do better than their current business model, but that may be wishful thinking on my part.

I bought Toy Stunt Bike last night after having tried the demo a while back and been amused by it. It's just an okay sort of game. It seems like you could probably play through all the tracks within a few hours. It sort of feels like Fisher Price My First Trials HD. The graphics are certainly not HD, though, but the ragdoll physics of the driver can be amusing sometimes It feels like it shouldn't be more than a $1.99 game. It's on sale right now for $2.99, I think. It's all right. Nothing stellar.

Sounds like my kind of game. Thanks for the feedback. I played some of the Witch & Hero Demo and enjoyed it despite how basic it is even after collecting blood.

Since you've probably noticed, how often do these games hit $0.99? Seems like I've seen it happen a few times (in my casual observance of past sales)... and I think at that price I'd buy most of their games.

They don't go that low very often actually. I think the only time they did was for Circle's 10th anniversary sale. But they're on sale pretty often, so you could at least do better than regular price.

@ keyblader - Are there any other good Circle Entertainment published titles that you might suggest? Legend of the Dark Witch was a great value for the money.

A lot of their games aren't really my thing actually, so I can't say if they're good or not. My personal favorites are

- Dark Witch 1 & 2
- Fairune (heavily puzzle-based action game; very good but can be completed in under an hour)
- Witch and Hero 1 & 2 (very simple and grindy tower defense; it's not for everybody but a lot of people do like it)
- Parascientific Escape: Cruise in the Distant Seas (escape visual novel similar to Zero Escape)
- Harvest December (series of short pure visual novels)
- Adventure Bar Story (RPG + cooking/bar management sim)

And it hasn't been officially announced, but they're working on bringing over the sequel Adventure Labyrinth Story (which was on PS Mobile as Adventure Bar Labyrinth), which is a roguelike with cooking elements.

I own everything except Harvest December and Parascientific Escape. I try to check Nintendolife's website for reviews before buying games, but in many cases, it seems like they expect too much from Circle Entertainment's releases considering these are budget games. But I might buy Parascientific Escape based on your recommendation. Thanks for that!

I appreciate what you're trying to do here, but the cleverly intolerant tone just sort of serves to further my point, which was not about gender but rather sexual orientation. Everyone knows what "uber-gay" means, and it's just unnecessary, exclusionary language. Whether we're making little comments that exclude a (gaming) minority by gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, whatever... Is it really that hard to just avoid it? Surely you can see how some gay folks might feel excluded by that kind of comment, which is what the original caller-outer was pointing at. As a majority (male, straight, etc etc--assuming you are male and straight), we have the responsibility to acknowledge folks' concerns without a backlash, and personally as a gamer I want people of all kinds to feel welcome.

That said, let's get back to bashing the casuals. :) Kidding, kidding (kind of)

Witch & Hero isn't a tower defense game. It's an Ys-style action RPG but just set in a single screen as enemies come after you from all sides.

^You are literally defending a tower (the witch) though.

The Nintendolife reviewer didn't know what they were talking about when they did Legend of Dark Witch 2. There's a lot of flat out misinformation, as well as the reviewer using his preferences to objectively bash it. A lot of the commenters corrected and called him out.

Tempted to pick up a 3DS point card today in anticipation of next week's sale...but when you already own nearly everything you want on 3DS, odds of something you want being on sale is slim. #firstworldproblem

I'm guessing right now Target is the only place that has a deal on point cards?
