It's like a micro Zelda. Very much worth playing and I'd completely recommend it to anyone that likes the more classic top down (ish) approach to the genre.

If I can't figure out a game and have to go by a guide to play then it's not fun and not worth my time. Thankfully for Fairune I think there was only one thing where I went and looked for an answer. So in some respects it is hard as the whole world is like a zelda dungeon.

Several? As in one? Rime is the only one that has a higher price and blamed it on the cart. Puyo Puyo Tetris is a Launch Edition that comes with 2 key chains (whether that's the real reason or to hide the cart costs, who knows). I don't know of any others that are higher...

 
BTW, bugs me how everyone keeps calling Switch games "carts," or "cartridges." These are game cards, or cards, like the DS/3DS/Vita before them. Not exactly same thing. They have more in common with a SD card than they do cartridge of old, like the 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, etc.

I like this line from the wiki...

"A Nintendo game card (trademarked as Game Card) is a cartridge format used to physically distribute video games for certain Nintendo systems."

DS, DSi, 3DS are trademarked as Game Card...

GB, GBC, GBA are trademarked as Game Pak...

All of them are a cartridge format.

Add to the mix the Switch cartridge is non-writable which has a lot in common with the 2600 carts and the carts used in the majority of NES games.

At the end of the day, both are technically correct. I think Cart makes more sense though since most modern uses of the term "card" in technology refer to some rewritable media.

Probably for people like me who don't like the 3D and it gives massive MASSIVE headaches. I also very rarely play with sound so I'd lose any of those "name that song" games from any recent games.

Besides the headaches, many can't see the 3D due to sight issues, and kids under 7 I believe can't use it either, so the 2DS has always met a specific demand, for a 3D-less option. And for those users, having to pay extra for a unit that has a feature they can never use, is a waste. So this machine now offers the other benefits of the standard units, with what made the 2DS needed in the first place. Choices are never bad, and I wish "N" offered them more often.

 
I wonder how much better the N2DSXL battery life will be over the N3DSXL... I think if anything that would be a factor for me eventually picking one up.  I don't bother with 3D most of the time on my system, but it is nice to have for a few of the games.

As a hearing-impaired person, I play my games without sound 99% of the time. The other day, I was trying to play Harmoknight, and I just couldn't, not with the volume at max and both my hearing devices in. I finally put on headphones, which allowed me to hear the nuances well enough to hit the beats to get through stages.

I always feel a little bad that I can't appreciate video game music, but that's just how it is. At least I can still play the majority of games.

 
Besides smaller profit margin, any guesses as to what makes the New 2DS cheaper than the New 3DS? I doubt the lack of 3D screen and smaller form factor would be enough to add up to $50, especially since the 2DS also comes with an AC adapter.

It looks like they dug up the old GBA prototypes for the New 2DS color schemes.

Off topic, but I found this looking for the GBA pictures and thought of the joycons. So much nicer than the neon, the Joycon should have been these colors instead.

The New 3DS tech is fairly old at this point (launched 10/2014 in Japan), so it's not a huge leap that they could cost the cost and remake it a bit for a cheaper model that will probably be the final push for 3DS.

Don't have it, so all I know is it's really short (like an hour) but there's three different characters and they all play differently enough that it's worth playing with all three. It's more or less an action-focused Fairune. Maybe I'll get after I (finally) beat Zelda.

Makes sense. I forgot how old the New 3DS actually is, mostly since I stuck with my launch 3DS. Moving the camera to the bottom half probably saves a couple bucks too.

 
Played some Mario Kart online with my buddy earlier. Not sure how voice chat will eventually work panther Switch, but we just partied up on Xbox and chatted through our Xbox's while we played

I played through the first 2 levels with one of the characters and really enjoyed it. Puzzles aren't too tough, but it was actually play something other than Zelda for once. (I have 100+ hours in on Zelda and can't wait to get back to it again.)

Yea, you dial the number, put them on speaker phone and then party in whomever else you wanna talk to. We did that in the 80's too. Man, I miss party lines :p

At least Mario Kart was fun. I had a blast stomping my 10 y/o. Until she did something and she was faster than my Link. So I blue shelled her butt.

 
Debating on grabbing I am Setsuna, or instead grabbing Has Been Heroes and Wonderboy. Really really loved Chrono Trigger growing up, but just not sure

i love to buy a cart copy but so far none have it unless you want to get it from japan

40 bucks is way too high..i buy it for 20

has been is awful.. its either you love it or hate it....i thought it be an rpg but its not

seems there are now some us sellers but 59.99

Wonder Boy and I Am Setsuna are both really good. The soundtrack in Setsuna has become one of my favorites of all time.

Why were you expecting more? This is much more than I was expecting from what they initially promised for the first DLC. The one at the end of the year is the big one. I'm actually looking forward to some of those outfits. That kokari mask will be super useful. I wonder if it'll be added as an item where the shieka slate can take a picture of it and track it that way so it doesn't have to be worn to get the effect? I love doing that with treasure chests. The master sword upgrade trial sounds really much more involved than I was thinking it would be. I'm definitely going to enjoy that. I hope that enemy armor outfit allows walking among enemies. The game needs that kind of option for exploring everything.

 
You get free dlc with blaster master zero in may and July so you may want to get it if your switch is Hungry and you're on the fence like me
