In addition, while I had my issues with I Am Setsuna, it was a good game. I'm pretty excited to see how much better this can be with the lessons they've learned.

Looks just as depressing as I Am Setsuna was, too. :)
I'm still playing it and enjoy it.

The snow is deliberate as the "mise en scene" of the entire plot of I Am Setsuna. There are no highs and lows so far in the game. It's all a march towards sacrificing the protagonist and namesake of the title.

I have so many games to play and things to do in the real world so I can wait but I will support the new game when it's in my price range

It was a little simpler and bare than I'd expected, but I bet they'll go all out now that they have their groove on. What bugged me was that the majority of the combat was auto-pilot, and then you get to boss battles and they're difficult. I remember one particular battle, I had just come from a long dungeon and travel, saved, gone into a town, done a bunch of stuff in the town, sat through a ton of dialog, and all of a sudden a boss pops out of nowhere, no opportunity to save, and wipes me out. I had to go back through all my crap all over again. Wiped out yet again. That was enough for me. I hope there's no nonsense like that in the new game.

You have to use defense boosting techs and be ready for surprises in the middle of dialogue. I got caught off guard and learned to heal and defend better.

Anybody else get the survey for 30 platinum coins? I don't remember seeing a survey like this since the club nintendo changes occurred.

Yeah, my buy in for part 6 is 50% off, which I thought it would have reached by now, but Capcom is playing hardball. Little do they know, I've got nothing but time. LOL
Yeah I'm tempted to get it too but it's annoying that they aren't dropping the discount more since I don't really want to pay more then $20 canadian for it if possible.

I have 1-3 and 5 and haven't even played them yet so I guess I can keep waiting since it goes on sale every couple of months. Keep hoping they'll add 4 to the eshop so that I can complete the set

They will drop it at some point, they just seem to be taking the slow road about getting it done. I'm on AAI2 currently, and then I have Layton x Wright, and then DD. So I have about 2 1/2 games left to finish before I go on to 6, so no rush for me as well. I'm sure to see the 50% by then, maybe more if I want to wait longer, but I'm good at the 50% when it happens.

Thank God they pulled their collective heads from their asses, and decided to offer something decent for the consumer dollars. That original plan had "Dumb  fuck " written all over it.

I'm not personally looking to pay $20 for past games, as I've got them on any and every device I own, but if the offer some more recent system perks, and maybe some unreleased games, I could see paying $20 annually, as that's not bad.

The Classic Game Selection isn't going to offer new games.

The first three games mentioned are NES games, so it probably won't be more recent than SNES.
That's cool, like I said, I have no need for those games anyway, but $20 for the year to access online for Jr. seems decent enough. And he may play a NES/SNES game or two. Although if I sell his mini to get the NS, I'll probably end up just putting all those games on the Wii U for him anyway, so he'll mostly want it for online play I'm sure.

Now will that $20 be per household, or will each NS user need to pay the $20?

That yearly subscription price is surprisingly reasonable. Now the real question becomes if Nintendo limits the supply of the subscription cards and scalpers start selling them for 150$:)

OMG, that would be AWESOME! LOL

As crazy as that sounds, anything is possible when and where "N" is involved. They take what appears to be the most simplistic situations, and just turn them in to complete and utter chaos, each and every time. Just when I think they can't go any lower, then you get something like the voice chat, that just screams "Off our Nut".

You could just pay on the console itself. I doubt that you'd need a card to subscribe.

I can delete a game off of my 3DS and download it again at will right? I know it's a stupid question but I also know that transferring my games and NNID to my N3DSXL was a different experience...

Impressed with the online pricing revealed. If a Nintendo Switch Christmas bundle were to appear, I would most likely make the jump. As it is, my 3DS backlog is considerable.

Yeah, just make sure you check the option for save management for that game if you want to keep your progress for later on.

All I need is RC Pro Am, the boxing game (the name of which is escaping me) and about two other NES games and switch could be my favorite console of all time (after dreamcast).

I'm cool with the online pricing. As for the bundled games concept, I think that's really nice. What I'd really like though are more third party games like Super C. It's great to have them on VC, but the online co-op would be interesting. Still, offline co-op on the Switch would be nice. I'd love a new pixel based Contra with 4 player co-op.

RC Pro Am is owned by Microsoft, so that probably won't happen.
We still got Minecraft so I wouldn't rule it completely out. MS has other properties that have been published on Nintendo systems starting during the GBA days.

Except that the only game Microsoft has on non-Microsoft consoles is one that was on everything when they bought it. They'd hurt the brand by taking it away, which doesn't apply to a random Rare NES game that they're already offering on Xbox One.

I would think a Rare Replay Lite, with all Rare games made on Nintendo systems but not the Xbox games, would make MS some good money.

Just plz remake real goldeneye for its 20th anniversary this August plz

On the switch/3DS? Won't happen.

Even if it would sell well, you have to take into account the fees they would be paying to Nintendo to make it happen (license, certification, etc). Not to mention getting the dev kits/software to release it on the switch. Why bother with that when they can just release it for X1 and Windows PC?

As for Goldeneye... Rare doesn't have the Bond license anymore, anyway. It's with Activision, which is why Goldeneye was remade and rereleased on the PS3, 360, Wii, and DS. Rereleasing the original, with no changes, would be a huge legal deal anyway, which is why we never got the planned XBLA release OR a Wii Virtual Console release.

To be fair, they did release Viva Pinata on DS.

To be fair, that was before they started dabbling in mobile gaming with the Windows Phone, and was part of a partnership with THQ rather than Nintendo (Rare developed, THQ published and would have done the actual dealing with Nintendo)

But valid point.

The Pokemon Nintendo Direct featured three new items:

  • Pokken Tournament DX for Switch on 9/22. Five new Pokemon added to the game.
  • Pokemon UltraSun and UltraMoon for 3DS on 11/17.
  • Pokemon Gold and Silver for 3DS VC on 9/22.
