Still haven't played Chronicles and X yet, but I wasn't all that impressed by the gameplay footage of 2. Not even sure if the other two would appeal to me (they're in my backlog). I love Xenogears, was far less impressed with Xenosaga, and then they went open-world and less story-driven from what I've heard.

Anybody know if Persona Q has been any lower than $20 at retail? Camelcamelcamel's telling me Amazon's low is the same price as the eShop sale.

Persona Q was on clearance at some Walmarts for $7 several months back but other than that I don't remember seeing it below $20 anywhere.

I'd imagine most of us were hoping the launch of the Switch-specific rewards would go live or be detailed somewhere at E3 since it's been "coming soon" for over three months now. I'm hoping the NSO delay isn't tied to that part of MyNintendo.

I played the Ever Oasis demo. That was pretty neat overall. The music was excellent....will probably seek out that soundtrack someday. I believe it's the same director as Legend of Mana, and feels pretty relaxed and similar to that with maybe a little bit more of an MMORPG feel with gathering of stuff for character quests and store inventories and such. The story was a simple build up your oasis one, but it seemed like it will get some decent plot twists and such later. The graphics were pretty clean for the most part and the fighting was simple but still had some strategy to it (also like Legend of Mana). It's now a going to buy for me....trying to decide if I want it on release to support the developers, but i'm not sure yet. The demo is only 30 minutes long so it's worth a try.

I'm so excited about Metroid: Samus Returns that I decided to start Metroid 2 since 8yr old me gave up on it back in 91. But man, no wonder I quit, with no map and everything looking almost the same I just kept running in circles. Didn't help I was noob and never conserved missiles. Thankfully there are some hardcore fans today that have made some nice maps. I hope Samus returns makes good use of the lower screen for a map.
 
The only reason I think most people made it through that game is because they had the Nintendo power issue that covered the entirety of the map

 
I was staying with my grandma in a very small town shortly after Metroid 2 came out. Had literally nothing else to do and played through all of it. Made my own maps, used up about a hundred batteries, it was intense.

I ended up buying and playing part of it in 2007 but I eventually gave up after getting lost due to similar looking rooms and no map. I eventually sold my GBA SP and games so I can no longer play it, but at least there's the 3DS game and fan remake it ends up being disappointing.

I hope it's more like Seiken Densetsu 1 and 2 than Legend of Mana, but I did like the art and music in that game.
 
I enjoyed both the Ever Oasis demo and the Miitopia demo.  Miitopia was definitely a surprise as I wasn't expecting much from it and actually enjoyed it for what it is (a simple fun RPG).  I think I may actually pick up both now at or near launch (with GCU discount).

 
I'm getting a Switch in a couple of weeks, but I got tired of waiting for them to announce anything Virtual Console related, so this weekend I bought a Galaxy 3DS XL. My first DS. The screen protectors, cases, and screwdriver required for replacing the Micro SD are coming via Amazon today. My plan is to take advantage of the 3DS Virtual Console deals via the e-shop sale. There are so many classic Nintendo titles that I never experienced during my childhood, and cartridges are far too expensive these days. It's time to make up for that.

From someone who hasn't owned a Nintendo console since the SNES and the GBA (but still missed a lot of great titles), would I have to re-buy games whenever Switch's Virtual Console releases? Is there no way to merge or link an account from 3DS to Switch? Is it even possible to have the same Gamertag on both? Just wondering. Thanks.

Right now, there's no details on the NS VC, so no one knows. Based on "N" past record, I would say that anything you buy now for your N3DS, plan on buying again on the NS. They may offer some kind of discount, as they have done in the past, but since they haven't given any details, anything can and may happen.

If you want some games, get them now for the enjoyment. Otherwise, you'll need to wait until some plan is laid out, and some details of future purchases are given. I don't think a single person here would recommend buying VC games now, and then expecting them to transfer over later, as history does not seem to show that as a possibility(so much as a dream).

Yeah; knowing Nintendo, I didn't expect anything to carry over.

The eshop sales are too good to pass on. Zelda, Metroid, etc... I've been in a mood to play these games for quite some time now, and I was hoping Nintendo would've had an update on the VC at E3. Nope.

I know it seems ridiculous buying VC games at this point when I have a Switch, but honestly, I'm tired of not experiencing some of the best games ever made on the Nintendo side, and who knows how long or what the Switch's plans are?

Oh i'll be one of the few to say I really honestly disliked Legend of Mana. It felt like the fighting system went backwards and 2 player was very buggy (we started earning each other's skills). Also thought the geo forming system was blah and sometimes quests would or wouldn't trigger cause of weird conditions like elements. Was beautiful with a good soundtrack, but to me was sub par. I hope I like Ever Oasis a lot more than that.

"N" does offer a surprise now and then, so anything is possible. I didn't think they would ever offer a decent form of region free, but not only did they offer it, it's way better than I ever thought it would have, or could have been.

If you've been waiting, and now got tired, that pretty much assures they'll make an announcement right after you make your first purchase, so act accordingly. LOL
