Dual destinies has one DLC case if I remember correctly, and I think it’s $5 or $6 and has never dropped in price. Also I’m pretty sure the client is a killer whale.

Question for my fellow switch owners, how many of you take your switch portable on a regular basis? I’m taking a day trip to NYC and I’m debating on taking my switch for the trip to and from. I have the basic Nintendo carry case, and a silicone grip cover. Guess I’m just paranoid about theft or damage. What’s everyone’s favorite travel set up?

I regularly see people on the subway playing a switch fwiw.

FYI I just noticed that there is a demo available for Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology on the 3DS eshop.

I downloaded it and played a little last night. You get some items that will carry over to the full game when it releases. I believe your save will carry over to, and you can level up to level 20.

I didn't play the original, so I really wasn't sure if I should do the 'Perfect' mode "for people familiar with the original" or the other one, suggested for new people.

I don't really get the difference. I don't think I want to play the game twice, but the game is pushing against me jumping straight into Perfect.

From what I understand the original game had two timelines to work with. The Perfect Chronology mode adds a third timeline that adds new scenarios or at least a different viewpoint on scenarios from the original. I’m planning on playing the original story and if I get through it quickly and don’t feel burned out, I’ll try the PC mode.

Dandara released today, and it seems pretty great so far. Really cool take on the "metroidvania" type of games, platforming takes a bit to get used to but is rewarding. Has touch controls as well. Only $11.99, too.

Thing that interested me the most is it's made by a Brazilian team and inspired by the Afro-Brazilian folklore warrior of the same name who fought against slavery. I don't see a whole lot of games from that region, particularly like this.

Since pre-loading is becoming a more widespread option, it'd be smart of smaller developers to just offer slight pre-order discounts on every title. That would majorly bolster day one digital sales... if Nintendo could advertise it better. Instead so many people wait until a sale hits later.

I mean hell, Nintendo should do it for their titles too with their paid online service. They won't. But I'd have to imagine if they did they'd still be making more money than they get from physical copies sold by Amazon/Best Buy, and incentivize more people to buy digital day one as opposed to sticking with the cheaper physical option from those stores.

Starting in May, My Nintendo will let you spend gold coins towards digital games. Seems like they're also changing how many coins you get to be based on what you pay (5% for digital, 1% for physical NS), rather than what range the normal price falls in.

It says "select games and DLC." Might be more than the few 3DS/Wii U games that are offered now, but they haven't given any details yet. I'm going to guess that expecting a bunch of games is probably a bad idea.

Or actually, I think I had that backwards. So if the 1 gold coin = 1 cent is going to be in North America too, then the 1% for physical and 5% for digital will net more gold coins per registration in the new program, compared to the original return values.

I've read that NOJ's My Nintendo site includes actual physical items, so that is probably referring to that stuff. We'll have to wait for NOA's similar detailed post at some point to clear up specifics.

Yeah, NOA needs to release some specifics on this part of it. Maybe you can buy eShop credit with the gold points like the old Wii U Deluxe promotion.

For your post above regarding gold point value, it hopefully doesn't seem it will be proportional in that way. (1 dollar to 1 gold point) Since it says you'll earn "Gold points worth 5%", the gold point value will probably be the same but just be a confusing ratio. Because Nintendo. So for a $60 game you still get 60 coins, but a select $60 game would cost 1200 coins.

I am confident this will be just as awful as My Nintendo Rewards currently are. I am guessing we will see the ability to purchase eShop titles at a discount like they have set up now. I will hold my judgement until we have more info, but I am guessing my coins will just continue to pile up.

Yeah, you're probably right. All I'm hoping for still is the Snipperclips DLC. I'll use every last gold coin to my name.

In a separate but related question, what's the stupidest thing you all have gotten from My Nintendo since your rewards were just expiring anyway? I spent 30 on the full e-guide to Animal Crossing: New Leaf, a game I do not have and likely never will. But ya know... maybe I'll need it

I'm expecting LRG is going to release Golf Story since they hinted at it a while back... that's why I'm holding off on it as well. I'd rather have physical games because I know at some point (likely after Pokemon releases) my kids will start wanting their own switch systems.
