Yeah, I'm right there with you(mini, lite, go, etc). I find the NS to be a solid piece of hardware, but it just lacks so much for me currently. I know the JC are a big part of what the "switch" is, but honestly, they are added cost and useless features for me. I would much prefer a smaller device, with fixed controls and a sub $200 price tag.

I'm glad my son got one, as it took away any level of interest I may have had(an impulse buy), and kept me from over paying. I played Zelda on the Wii U, and stopped maybe half way thru, as I didn't like it very much. I made it to Bowsers Castle in Odyssey during the holidays, and yesterday was my first time touching it since. A solid title, just not a game I would consider a top 3D Mario title. So out of their two best games, I'm left playing my 3DS daily, but the NS hardly at all.

And after that last direct, every game I had interest in was a 3DS title(except Octopath), go figure?
I'm with you. I'm still playing my 3DS most days. I haven't had much of an urge to get the Switch. Most of the eShop games can be bought on Steam for nearly nothing, from sales and bundles.

I haven't felt anything on Switch was a must-buy for me yet, but an Animal Crossing game would likely be for me.

I’m the opposite. I keep hoping they announce a Switch HD that can play AAA titles mobile at 720P. I’d drop $500 on that in a heartbeat.
The one thing "N" has always had was a dominance in the handheld market, and I see them offering a cheaper alternative, before they offer a more expensive one. The NS while doing well, is still pretty much $400 with tax and a game, there's a HUGE market they have left high & dry with this console/hybrid crap. I guess that's why they are still trying to show 3DS support, but when that comes to an end(2018 is probably the end of the line), I expect something cheaper and a better value NS wise in 2019.

I want a Switch Maximum, so I don't have to worry about finding a pesky T.V to plug the stupid dock up to all the time. Just set it on an entertainment center and bam, 30+ inch gameplay ready to go.

Don't forget that Bowser's Inside Story is coming for 3DS in 2019. It'll never die!

Hello,

Just bought a switch and I’m excited. Looking at OP looks like Thursdays are when to check for deals.

Any advice for looking for joy con deals or chargers?

Edit: I’m new to Eshop credit. Is about 1000 equal to $1?

I think best buy is having a sale right now on some Nintendo switch stuff.
Also if you plan on getting splatoon2 wait until the 16th for the starter edition.

It IS a full remaster, with updated graphics, similar to the remake of the Superstar story.
Well, that's cool I guess, just seems a long way off to be offering such an old game where the original can be played on the same device. To be doing something like that, it really should have been offered on the NS. Don't get me wrong, I'm more likely to play it on the 3DS, but I can play that title today on my 3DS, seems a waste of resources honestly.

At least Super Star was a past gen title that could no longer be played on the 3DS(by normal means), and is probably the best game in the series. By the time this is offered, it will be lucky to do half the SS numbers, and that's probably still a pipe dream. But I guess they can always offered it again on the NS at some later point. LOL

Offering it in 2019 falls in line with my personal thoughts on some new form of the NS being announced in that year. Maybe early on in 2019, or more in line with a big E3 reveal, but we'll see what happens? They should also be starting their stride of having some decent games built from the ground up for the NS by then as well, so a new version of hardware would be nice.

Damn, was 2019 the release date for that? What the hell is taking that game so long? LOL
I don't think it's anything more than Nintendo extending the release so that it doesn't coincide with other releases.

It also gives the impression that the 3DS will continue to receive support from Nintendo into 2019, for those expecting that the Switch would replace it outright.

Yeah, anyone with any common sense can see how slow 3DS games production has become, so I don't think to many would believe that anyways. The NS has more games releasing this month, than the 3DS has for the rest of 2018. Systems at the start have a better line up, as what I see pretty much shows the "end". Anyone thinking otherwise should take another look. LOL

Not working for me. But thanks.
It's been fixed and the item is no longer available for purchase.
Proof of my order through.

Loving the demos on Switch, looking forward to the upcoming Arms event, first videogame event i've put on a personal calendar though considering how bad the Nintendo store integration is on the Switch, worried I might forget about it and miss it.

Also, incredible analysis here, mad excited:

I made it to Bowsers Castle in Odyssey during the holidays, and yesterday was my first time touching it since. A solid title, just not a game I would consider a top 3D Mario title.
I'm not trying to start anything, but what would you consider a top 3D Mario title?

Odyssey to me was the perfect refinement of what N started back in 96 with SM64, and my personal GOTY for 2017 even over BOTW and I'm a bigger Zelda fan than I am a Mario fan.

SM64 of course, Galaxy 1 & 2 and I actually loved Super Mario 3D Land(didn't care for World). I didn't find Odyssey terrible, just nothing new, and with the way the moons are based, it takes away everything that made the titles I mentioned, so very refined. Each star(or gold tokens in 3D Lands case), is very well placed and that is all a part of amazing level design.

I found Odyssey to just be a bunch of ideas where some worked, some didn't, and whomever was in charge, just didn't care. It's nothing super bad, just nothing super great. Soundtrack song is rather cool though, I have it as a theme on my 3DS. LOL

Mario O., just like BotW took things in new directions for their series, and I didn't like it in either game. Just my opinion.

EDIT: Let me also say Banjo & Kazooie as well. While not an official 3D Mario game, it was very much a copy at the time. And it took everything that was great about SM64 and took it up a notch.

Im new to CAG but does anyone know where to get a deal on the nintendo switch?
Not a huge discount, but Nintendo just started selling REFURBISHED systems through their online store for $275. Nintendo has an amazing track record with refurbs, so it's a pretty safe buy. https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/browse/subcategory.jsp?categoryId=cat960084

Also Amazon sells "Warehouse Deal" units for around $260 pretty regularly, you just gotta keep an eye out for those. A bit riskier than straight from Nintendo, but obviously Amazon's return policy has you covered.

I agree 100% on their refurbished models, as they are pretty much factory fresh. I've heard a few stories of a few janky offerings, but those are for sure the exception and not the rule. Not sure what the warranty is, but it was a full year for the Wii U when it was being offered, so the NS should be just as good.

$275 while not great, is pretty useless as getting anything thru "N" online store, you get charged tax and shipping, which could make it more than retail. Keep an eye on their Ebay store, as most things there are tax free and offer free shipping. It's the same products, just offered in different places. They recently added the N3DS small units to Ebay, so it's much cheaper to buy there, than direct from the online store. But either place can offer sales or codes for a better deal, you just have to be on the look out.

Speaking of the Switch update..

Is there any way to remove the news feed from one of the accounts? I made both a UK and JP account for demos etc, The JP news feed is annoying since I don't speak/read Japanese. I saw in the update we could customize the news feeds.. only to find out it wasn't what I was thinking.

I was never a big N guy so maybe i'm missing the obvious somewhere in the settings.

As for a new size Switch from N, I'd go for a mini Switch (depending on how "mini") over a larger one. joycons perma attached, but it *MUST* be able to use the physical carts. Not like the PSP Go that Sony went when they shrunk the PSP (Even though the PSP Go was great)

Yeah, I hadn't thought of them going all digital if they offer something like the Go. I don't think even "N" is that clueless(well yeah, I do actually), as I understood the feature on the Go, but I don't see it doing "N" any favors if offered.

Enter the Gungeon (switch) is on sale - 11.24 (reg 14.99) - https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/enter-the-gungeon-switch

(edit: punctuation error)
I love this game, and while I enjoy it on the Switch, it's not without its issues. Playing on the handheld is difficult. I'm not sure if it's the FPS, frame pacing, or something else, but the game doesn't feel as good as it does on PC/PS4. I perform considerably worse on the Switch version of this game. It's still fun, but just a heads up.

Here are the new deals for today:

:switch:

Is there a way to track digital game prices over time? Like store parser for Xbox?

I’m glad to see there are some bigger percentage deals (+50%). I hoping there are always a couple each week
