Agreed. Just give us a console that third parties want to develop for, and ONE normal ing controller. Im really not asking for much. I will not buy a console just to play Nintendo games and the maybe one other decent third party game it may have on it. Ive played so many Mario and Zelda games in my life that they are not system sellers for me anymore.

Like you, I am not holding my breath. More waiting to see what stupid gimmick they ruin this generations console with.

If the rumors are true, the NX is extremely easy to port games over, so companies can make NX versions without losing a lot of cash.

Logged in after a brief hiatus just to say, this thing is going to crash and burn. The fact that they're releasing it in March indicates Nintendo is still out of touch with reality.

Unless Nintendo gets a handle on account portability for digital purchases, I'm not investing in any more Nintendo platforms. Having a digital purchase locked to a specific machine is not acceptable in this day and age. On virtually any other platform, if I register the machine with the platform maker, I immediately have access to all of my past purchases that are compatible with the hardware in question.

Seriously... I recently got a DSi XL (to replace my dying DSL) and wanted to buy some games and I can't figure out what's what. It seems like I have a diff account on my Wii, Wii U, and 3DS and I can't figure out how or if those are connected somehow, and if the DSi XL would be in there. I know I've got money in my Wii eShop account that I was never able to transfer over but don't know if that money can be used on my DSi XL.

I feel like all the secrecy surrounding the announcement is actually harming any potential hype they may have been going for. We know nothing but a release date and even that is bad timing with the post-holiday lull it would release in. The delay of Zelda leaves WiiU dead in the water from now until then, so they're sending a clear message of abandonment to whatever remaining fans they had. Even if the new system is incredible, I'm doubtful they will ever reclaim a place in the home console market that they let slip over the last decade.

Sadly you're probably right. It's a painful thing to watch since I grew up with Nintendo's consoles/games.. but I hope they do fail badly enough to actually make games for other consoles, and preferably without gimmicky control schemes. Just give me a controller and an amazing 3d mario game to run around in.

I held off on getting a 3ds bc of the rumors with it having a portable thingy for taking games with you, then decided to just get a 3ds as my last handheld was the original ds.
