Brickseek has said my local Walmart has been out of stock since launch, but today they popped up with 5 in stock. I went up there but they said they didn't get any in.

A friend and I went to TRU this morning, only to find out they only got 10 consoles in, and we were 12 and 13 in line. The witch hunt continues.

I tried just going to TRU when they opened and seeing if I could get one.  No luck, had to have a ticket.  I didn't really want one before but now that I've realized I can't get one, I'm determined to find one.  I'm not even into Zelda so I'd have absolutely no use for it till Mario comes out.  If supply was plentiful and you could walk into any retailer and buy one, there's no way in hell I'd even be considering getting one.

For anyone still looking there was 5 in stock at Walmart near me that had arrived this morning, in the 60131 zip.

Well since you don't really want one but do depending on the availability (which is really confusing), I'm sure you can make a Scalper happy by paying twice the amount for it.

Nooo! Don't fall for it!

I'm not sure how many CAGs are college basketball fans but Nintendo has advertised the Switch throughout the tournament. Capital One commercials and the Switch. Non fans watch the tourney for the brackets so they are seeing the commercials. This may be generating even more interest. Nintendo faced a lot of criticism with the Wii U launch. Lack of advertisement but mostly did not differentiate itself from the Wii. If you decide to buy a Switch or Classic these are the best cases period. The Switch cases have game and micro USB cases. $20 and $30 at Target and TRU.[attachment=26069:IMG_4436.JPG][attachment=26070:IMG_4437.JPG]
I bought cases for both Classics and Switches because they are that good.

Not that determined. Would never pay a penny more than MSRP. I am a CAG after all.

It was nice to see. The cringy as fuck Buick commercials, not so much

It's "lo and behold" dude, [get] Low and behold is what Nintendo expects us to do every time they refresh a platform.

So why did you buy two?

Pretty sure the workers at my local stores have become so used to saying "sorry it's not in stock" they don't even check anymore.
Figured I would sell one for a modest mark up, say 50 bucks to pay for Zelda....After all I did wait in line missing some work time for the first one :)

Got to my local TRU at 6, had 8 people already in line. While we were waiting, one of the employees going into the store said that they might have 10 but wasnt sure. Line built up to about 25-30 people before the manager came out 30 minutes before opening and said they only had 10 gray Switch's available and only people with a ticket were allowed to purchase them, also only one ticket per family. Luckily I was #9. Lots of pissed off people behind me yelling out how come they didnt tell them sooner and were scrambling to the nearest other stores to see if they restocked.

While most of us agree GS is shit 99% of the time, their posting numbers on the door the night before or early the next day is a great idea. If a store has 5 units and people want to line up days before, who the hell cares? At least people haven't wasted their time. There is no logical reason for a store to wait until that close to opening to say there is 10, with that many people in line.

I swear, some people have shit jobs, and just love to torture people because their lives suck. I personally would never shop at a place like that again, but I'm sure those upset in line will be back for more on the next limited release.

Brickseek claims there are 12 at the Wal-Mart near my house. Considering how disorganized that Wal-Mart is I highly doubt it lol

Those Wal Mart numbers from Brickseek are completely wrong, don't take them with a grain of salt, take them with the entire bag of salt.

^Yup, every Walmart around here has had the exact same numbers on BS, since Wednesday.

If it's a couple miles away, worth a shot.
Because a few people here got lucky.

But not relying on those numbers.

If you knew how many the store had before hand and then and then subtracted how many they have after new stock was added, that would be how many are purchasable.

The ones sitting in stock since launch are pre orders that havent been picked up.

"You know the employees are just holding them and buying them for themselves and their friends!!"

You never played it before? From what I saw when my daughter played, it looked the same.
Splatoon 2 feeling a whole lot just like Splatoon 1 - not seeing much of any gameplay difference here ... which is fine, I guess - but also rather lazy.

Better get used it. All the great Wii U games, and games from earlier generations, are probably going to get remastered.

I work at Walmart and that will get you fired.
I think he's just exaggerating the excuses people come up with when trying to defend Brickseek's blatantly inaccurate inventory numbers. Brickseek works pretty well for Target although it's not perfect (although Brickseek hasn't had Switch inventory listings for Target in a few weeks) but it's wildly inaccurate for Wal Mart. I think some of it has to do with pre orders that are on hand but never picked up as speculated, those should really be put up for sale if they aren't picked up in a week. I think it could also have to do with Wal Marts shitty inventory system which is slow to update and often relies on employees doing so manually.

I stopped relying on brickseek for Walmart Switch inventory, especially once I stumbled across istocknow.com. Happened to be in the area near a Walmart last night around 8 PM and noticed that two units came in stock within 30 minutes. Went there and they were shocked I knew a truck came in that night. My search finally ended!

My Walmart already sold out of their stock they had yesterday. I'm kinda surprised demand is so high for this system after the Wii U completely failed.

Nintendo knows that they are doing, they artificially limit supply so it looks like the demand is greater than it is, that way it becomes a hot commodity, scalpers buy them up, and the cycle continues, so the demand becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. If these things were produced in similar numbers at the PS4 and XBox were at launch, they'd be everwhere. I'm surprised people still haven't caught on. It's a decent strategy, but I'm not sure of the long term sustainability of it.

Brickseek was completely wrong about Hatchimals.  They've been COMPLETELY wrong about Switches (see all the other times I mentioned them in this thread).  Brickseek is useless and not to be trusted.  It's like telling me the National Enquirer is where I should get my news.

Brickseek still has its uses. Regardless of whether the inventory count is off. If you keep tabs on these inventory amounts and then see an INCREASE in units, then the store actually did get some new stock.

How do some of you guys know what day to line up at a store? I want to buy one from Best buy because I have a lot of reward certificates, but I never know what day and time they get them.

I clearly remember having a very hard time finding a PS4 for a long time after it released, so I don't know about that.

Finding toys using brickseek is asking for a bad time. Toy inventory numbers are always waaaaay off. Most of the time its because similar items that are clearly different waves or lines will all be under the same SKU or assortment or both. If you know how to use brickseek instead of relying on it 100% then it works out just fine.

I was able to locate 4 confirmed switches using brickseek. Just sayin.

Always feel bad for people who miss out because my stores have them collecting dust. The only item I've ever seen completely sold out here was the nes classic edition which no one has gotten in stock for the last month or so.

Brickseek said my Walmart had 4 but none were in stock when I called.
