Yay finally got a switch. Went to bestbuy to pick up my lala land bluray steelbook and found out they had switches in stock. Had to pull the trigger. Hehe!

This is at bestbuy oxnard ca at 11am

The Oxnard Best Buy is the worst. They have such piss poor employees that don't give a fuck.

Went to Best Buy to pick up Mario Kart 8 and saw my first Switches in the wild. Two gray and two neon sitting there around noon. I've been to Best Buy roughly half a dozen times since I bought mine in mid-March and the Switch section has always been pretty picked over.

FYI the NY Nintendo store also had switches available today without a wait for one.  Just got back from there with my friend who wanted one, today was the only day no one had lined up for it, but they only have the grey joy-con one.

My Best Buy (St. Petersburg) had (no joke) about 20 of each kind (gray/neon) sitting behind the counter.  Another 4 on a table for Mario Kart and 2-3 they were banding to put on the floor.  I was, of course, picking up Mario Kart and steering wheels.

When I saw my first one at Walmart last week, they looked like they had gotten a restock of accessories along with the systems. Although there was only one I saw, and it was the neon bundle. But everything else when in great supply.

Anybody in the KC area, Oak Park and Strang Line Best Buys both have at least 8 Switches just sitting collecting dust. Although I'd guess anyone around here has one already if they want it because they have been plentiful.

Depends. I know some employees that have been there for the longest time and have been pretty helpful especially electronics and videogame wise. I always try to look for them instore to buy stuff.

Walmart online has them, check phone app to buy w/out bundle

or scroll down and just look for "no bundle" option.

So I'm guessing the Nothing way of trolling is to make an ill informed comment, get pointed why it's wrong and then respond with "lol u jus a h8ter!!"?
Just want to know so I don't bother wasting time anymore.
On topic best buy in NJ had a ton along with 2 targets I went to.
Yeah don't waste your time. He probably slithered over from gamefaqs with that NeoMonk guy. Cut from the same cloth.

On topic: Lithia Springs Ga walmart has 6 Switch consoles as of 6:40 pm. 2 of which are Neon red/blue

I'm not sure I understand the logic of a store like Best Buy keeping Switch consoles behind customer service with no indication on the shelf that they have them. A guy like me who doesn't want to waste time wandering around and doesn't want to ask for help would just assume they don't have any and leave to get one at Target

Whelp, thats your bust because Best Buy is more likely to have them on the cage/behind the counter than on the floor because the floor ones get scooped up so quick they can't keep stocking them there. Same thing happened at the 1070/1080 release. If you take the 2 seconds to ask, it'll save you a 20 minute trip to Target.

It always depends on how competent your store is. Mine put the ones that didn't sell during the morning Mario Kart rush out in the Nintendo aisle. Of course they will sell out anyway just from people asking about it.

If you really wanted him to see your reply why didn't you quote him?

My Best Buy was the exact opposite. They had a folding table set up with about 8 consoles and a stack of Mario karts right inside the entrance door. I was pretty surprised that they would put them all up front with little to no security.

A few pop up in my location but it is either that or meeting Hulk Hogan today, what to do?!

Thanks to the people in this thread for posting that their Best Buy had Switches. I got mine today as an early graduation gift! Now I just can't wait for Splatoon 2 and Disgaea 5. Already having fun with BotW.

You don't need security when the security guy is staring right at them all day. ;)

Thanks for the heads up about Nintendo NY @itzd4n. I was able to score a free poster for checking in too.

Kinda surprised most of the GameStops around my area didn't get any for MK8 -- maybe they were forced to hold them for that stupid scalper bundle.

I have ~400 in GameStop credit just READY to pounce on a switch. >.>;

You're too damn slow. Been up and down on GameStop like a million times.

Yeah, I agree^

And where they have always had 3rd party support, is in their handheld sector, and the NS isn't really what the past portable systems have been. Yes, it's a hybrid(as they say), but it is being promoted mostly as a console, and the price alone puts it in that category by default.

So while I do see the NS doing better than the Wii U due to being in part a handheld, I don't see it doing their handheld numbers unless a much cheaper system is offered, with much cheaper game cost. I would say this is more than apparent to them as well, due to the announcement of the new 2DS model. They always need cheap handhelds, that meet that demographic, and while I'm sure some kids will get an NS, it's not going to replace their current kid/child market for awhile, if ever as it's just to expensive.
Still? it's been two months. Just stop.

I only just started actively hunting for one this week, so I'm not in a HUUUGE rush (though I did trade in a bunch towards Mario Kart and Puyo Puyo for the bonuses >:D)

I doubt they'd restock on weekends, right?

You could always buy a gift card from gs?

At this point, i recommend either Target (restocked this week) and Best Buy (restocked yesterday for the release of Mario Kart).

Where I live only Walmart has been having regular stock.

You can't buy other store gift cards (like eBay, etc.) with Trade credit, unless something has changed recently. I don't think they even carry like other retailer gift cards there except for restaurants.

I mean, I could dump it into PSN or eShop stuff but...

Or alternatively, just skip it until they put out a revised (much better) version, without all the design flaws and cheap materials.

There is being objective and then there is being blinded by hate.

If people want a switch offer to either help or Don't. That was in no way benefiting anyone acting like that.

Trade credit on a Gamestop gift card looks and acts no different than regular cash loaded to a Gamestop gift card. According to Gamestop's website trade credit can be used for "anything sold in the store". I've done it and it's only a matter of finding the Gamestop store that still sells Amazon cards (kindle works too), or eBay cards. If the store has those cards then you can buy them with credit.

my best buy had switches, I saw someone walking to the checkout with one and anther person getting one at electronics. Looked like they were kept in back off the floor. When I asked if they had any it sounded like they had a decent amount.

I'm not looking but a buddy is. He was too lazy to go get it ha

At the risk of sounding Stupid. Are the switches hard to come by right now?
It seems to be entirely dependent on where you live. Some people claim that they are piling hp at their local Target and Best Buy. Here in Connecticut I still have yet to see one on any store shelf.

False, they POS blocked Amazon, eBay, Visa, and Gas gift cards being purchased with GS trade credit or GS giftcards last year.

Actually, the guy didn't even ask for help finding one. He just asked if they are hard to come by. But I don't see anything wrong with making sure people know about complaints some have with the design and known flaws. At this point I assume controller sync is fixed, but scratching and warping is probably still an issue. Unless you really have to play wii u ports right now or just don't care about the issues, it's not bad advice to wait until later in the year or as long as you can given nintendo's hardware history with handhelds.
