Thanks, I never picked up Nintendogs and this version sounds like the best one to own. I never ordered a used item from Gamestop.com before, does anyone know if the status is up to date about it being in stock. I tried the old EBGames.com trick of adding 999 copies to the cart to see how many they had and it let me add all 999 copies in (of course I changed it to 1 before I checked out), and there is no way they have that many in stock

Since this thing only came in a paper holder like Hunters, or so pictures have led me to believe, I would say that these are almost for certain cart only.

Got it today. It was cartridge only as expected and came with the Health and Safety Precautions booklet.

What was strange that it came in a little plasitc bag stapled with a Nintendo hangtag at the top. It says Nintendo Refurbished Product. The next line says "This previously owned product has been cleaned, tested and inspected"

The back says
"this product is sold "as is" and with no manufacturer's warranty. please see your retailer for any applicable warranties.

It's like it came directly from Nintendo like this and sold to Gamestop rather than having someone trading it in.

I wonder how the game was refurbished in the first place.
 
I don't think that matters, since it's always like that with any item now. When it was in stock last week I tried that to see how many were it stock and it still allowed it. They don't have inventory control where it only lets you order how many are in stock like the old EBGames.com site
 
This game had no case (maybe a manual?) Any "complete" listings on eBay come with the cardboard sleeve that came with the bundled DS a la the Mario Kart bundle.

Hmm, I'm tempted. Does anyone know if all the data can be erased from the previous player. I ask because I recently played a used Advance War 2 in which the unlockable maps couldn't be reset.
 
got mine today. no manual came with it (as to be expected from gamestop). the game I got is refurbished (officially by Nintendo) and it came in a clear bag with a red tag stapled to it that states that this is refubished (cleaned, tested, and inspected) and is sold as is with no warranty. so i'm guessing that a refurbished product is slightly better than a regular used one, right? at least it has been tested (i don't have a ds right now so i can't even test it myself).

I called a local EB that had it in stock according to the zip search, and the manager described the copy just as you did. No manual, refurb, and they sent it to him from the corporate office (i.e., it wasn't a trade in by a customer). I'm guesing most of the copies GS and EB have are refurbs like this. That's fine, as long as it works. But chances of getting a manual are very slim (not that we didn't know that already).
 
Well, i must go to gamestop today & pickup the copy b4 is gone again. Its awsomes you got 3 nintendogs games in 1 cart plus all unlock ;)

The 20% off code is dead, but they are doing a B1G1 offer with code POB1G1. Buy 1 game $19.99 or over (such as Nintendogs Best Friends), get 1 game $19.99 or less for free. Both games must be in-stock to order. It can work out considerably better than 20% off if you can find the games you want in-stock.
