I don't know about you guys but Nirvana was an integal part of my life. Drinking in remote parks in 8th grade made me happy and joyful in that sad and gloomy way.

Now I hear there's a box set on the horizon and I'm trying to save up for a computer. No matter; a box set is certain to disappoint, after all I had all those songs on Outcesticide I thru infinity. Oh wait there's so much more than I could have ever hoped for. There's songs I never even tried downloading because I didn't know they existed. Well I'm hooked and NEED this box set.

Please provide me with a good price (hard since its new). Ebay and Froogle want to settle on about $50 shipped. Deepdiscountdvd.com doesn't even list yet (please, please 20% off) but maybe one of you know a better price. Or maybe you know what Best Buy is selling it for. I dunno, I just want it. Please.

It's actually called "With The Lights Out". I have almost all of the songs from it (I have hundreds of Nirvana MP3's), but there's still some on there (like maybe five) that I've never even heard of. Information on it is at http://www.nirvana-music.com/nirvana-box-set.html .

Good luck finding it under $50. It's three CD's and a DVD. I'm dying to get it as well, but knowing me, I'll probably just download it, since the money would probably go to Love.
 
Well since it doesn't come out until the 22nd I think I'd relax wait until next sunday and then search the paper for possible BB and CC deals. If you don't find it cheap wait a few weeks and search ebay for a used copy.
 
Is this the box set that was held up until the surviving band member settled litigation with Courtney Love? Ialways thought part of the settlement should have been a requirement for her to change her name to Yoko.

I have no clue. I know that Love wanted this release blocked because Cobain's got a set of acoustic sessions from 94 on there (which I have NEVER heard of, it would've had to have been done after YKYR which was in January and March, where he was in Rome, then rehab, escaped, etc).. not sure which are acoustic, but I am DYING to hear them.

I'm going to be pissed if there aren't any on there and the report I read was wrong.. we'll see, I guess. I'm sure I'll find a place to download it before it comes out.. if it delivers and has an acoustic session, I'll be first in line.

Well the CD track list doesn't seem to mention them, but I'm sure they will see the light of day soon, if only via Kazaa.
 
I'm very much looking forward to this. I was also looking forward to the Jimmy Paige, Robert Plant Unledded thing too.. but my CC and BB don't have it. Also the Axis of Justice CD/DVD come out Tues. Should be interesting :)

Why do you guys think Kazaa is the be all end all of everything related to music? Things have to go elsewhere before they're on Kazaa.. and I can get them elsewhere. I don't use P2P. I don't want to risk a lawsuit.
 
its cool, you dont have to trust it, but i get mad shit from there and ive had no problems. its a good program to use, they offer free ppv and other stuff
 
Ill have to pick up this set too. Big Nirvana fan. Have all thier US cds, but there are quite a few songs on that list that i dont recognize.
 
Okay.. a song has been leaked from it.. I'm checking into it now.. apparently it's a demo acoustic version of "You Know You're Right"..
 
Got it. It says BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe 11/15/04, so apparently this JUST HIT radio waves in the UK. It's a radio rip, so you can hear the announcers talking, blah blah blah..

They weren't kidding.

Cobain had an acoustic set and it's on this CD. The lyrics to You Know You're Right are different in the demo (as they usually are).

My god. That seals my decision. I'm getting this.

it will sooner or later. But that isn't the point. I hope that frys has it for cheap. And even if you do get the songs off P2P you'll also have to DL the DVD and that's going to be pain in the ass to get correctly. And isn't there some type of booklet or something that also comes with the set ?

The box set is pretty good. There's a rock version of Polly on there, which is pretty cool.. kinda weird to hear.. it's a demo from 1989.. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is pretty good as well, there's a "remix" version which is pretty much a remastered version, sounds great.. it's worth the money..
 
You know that if you buy this, a HUGE percentage of your money is going to go to Courtney Love's wallet.
