No Child Left Unleashed

Most of the schools in China already require this. Talk about never letting kids get away with anything anymore...

So every student has to wear one? Damn, I mean I can understand if like a kid who is consistantly truant or something is required to wear it, but if I was a good student I'd be more than a little pissed that I was being tagged like livestock or something.

So you'd be cool with the whole "Running Man" movie?

I have only one thing to say

Here's your Subzero. Now Plain Zero

If my school did that (not that they could afford it) I just wouldn't wear the ID. They don't need to know where I am every minute I'm at school.

I would refuse to go. I can't believe there isn't a bigger outcry by the parents. People have a right to privacy and this is clearly unconstitutional.

I just like how they want to integrate it into a lunch/library/identification card, that way it will be really neat if someone steals it or you loose it.

I say the system breaks down when students learn they can come to school dump the card in a locker and then ditch out for a couple of hours. I doubt the school could easily pinpoint the room each individual card is comming from and they especially won't put in the funds to track everyone around campus.

Hahha not exactly what I meant, but I guess it might be fun to kill Richard Dawson by firing him out of a giant sled cannon.

This doesn't surprise me. Students haven't had rights in schools for a long time. Students can't vote, and parents are usually all for it, so there is little that can be done.

Let's be hones.t The Supreme Court has already ruled that you have no rights to your own locker at school. Schools in Michigan are allowed to use drug sniffing dogs around your car while your at school, even if they have no reason to suspect anything. Mandatory drug tests can be given at random to any student participating in any extra-cirricular activity.

They can legally punish you for going to the bathroom (can you imagine having to ask your boss at work if you can go to the bathroom, and if he/she said no, your out of luck?).

Students are getting screwed. But, this is another reason why it is so important for 18-25 year olds to vote. They are the people who can protect the rights of those that are getting shafted.

Update: This plan has fallen through because the company that developed the technology pulled out.

Company pulls out of contract to track students

I would agree if not for the little bug nibbling my ear and saying there's no guarantee that people will always choose to be free

Most of the constitution doesnt exist in the schools. Schools can do what the see fit to there is no disruptions to the learning process.

Eh, it could help more than it hurts, slippery slope arguments aside. Look at the state of many schools nowadays what with the metal detectors and the violence the flavin out loud.

If you are a good student and don't skip classes or vandalize or steal stuff then you should be fine. If you want to break the rules, no wonder you don't like this.
