No hugs, handshakes, or HIGH FIVES in the county I work at!!

Actually, I don't see the huge deal the media is making of this. Yeah, the rule is a bit anal, but it has been in place for 15 years. I mean, out of 1,000 families, one family is complaining that their son had to talk to the principal because he put his arm around his girlfriend. I mean, really? National news? Where was the mainstream coverage of the 5th grade orgy a few weeks ago? The school should have the right to make rules that ultimately protect everyone, even if one person has their fragile little feelings hurt. Fondle your girlfriend after school like the rest of us.
 
I wouldn't make physical contact with you either, since you are out sick 40 days a fuckin' year. God only knows what social diseases you carry around.
 
But at a school of 1,100 students that was meant to accommodate 850, school officials think some touching can turn into a big deal. They've seen pokes lead to fights, gang signs in the form of handshakes or girls who are uncomfortable being hugged but embarrassed to say anything.

Interesting, considering back when I was in high school they had days where we'd all hold hands around the school to commemorate 'Unity Week" and had several "Hug Days" every year.

Their rationale was to try and prevent a Columbine type thing by getting everyone to hug each other.

It was really just an oppertunity to grab some tight ass. ;)

I dunno. All that is going to do is make them hornier than they already are. State of Virginia sure is make it's mark as one of the stupidest in the country. Between this and the speeding DUI excessive fines....
