[No longer needed!!!] E3 passes (2) needed!!!

last year, two pairs were on sale on ebay a few weeks before the start of E3... this year, I have been unable to find anyone who wants to part with theirs... I'd really like to see the DS up close along with any additional info on Halo 2

I -JUST- got my confirmation from those fellas. There was some mix ups with my papers.. and I was fortunate enough to get it resolved. Well, sort of, anyway. Now I have other issues to worry about.
Its a trade show, you can't buy passes, and if anyone is selling passes I doubt you will be able to get in with them.
The less declarative statements one makes the less apt they are to look foolish in retrospect.
You will be unable to get passes. I beleive registration has closed. I already have mine. Two weeks left!!!
Registration is still open. Just not free/pre registration.

You can still drop 300 on a ticket ;-).

What he said is true.

You also need a press pass or an affiliation with the gaming industry to get a pass. (work for game company, game website, be a major clan leader, a well known modder, etc.)

CheapyD would be elligible for a pass because he owns or is in charge of this site.

Last year when i went, two guys were asking ppl outside the convention center if they werent coming back, could they give them their passes. Me and my bro gave them ours and they had a few hours left to see the show.

You might want to hang out outside before the end of the show and see if you get lucky.

How much do you want to spend on two tickets. All shitting aside, don't haggle with me, just give me a price and I'll call my people and see what I can do.

kudos, your a hell of a guy!

JimmieMac, thanks for the offer. I don't want to name a price b/c all too often, that's the price that the seller will be willing to part with theirs for. Just post an offer, and I'll get back to you.

You don't understand the way ticket brokers work, do you?

JimmieMac isn't doing that out of the kindness of his heart, and when you have to draw in connections to get things, that isn't the time to haggle. If you want them, tell him your price, if not, turn around and walk away.

If I recall corectly according to the web site if you submitted your application before april your admission was free, assuming you could prove a connection to the gaming industry. Also you can only pick up your passes AT the convention.

Unfortunatly I wasnt able to get my application in on time so a friend of mine is asking a gamestop employee friend of his to lend me his pass for a day so I should hopefully be able to get in!

Thanks for the help everyone! Next year, I will register early and get tickets. JimmieMac, thanks for the offer, but I will not need passes from you. Adios guys.

So working at a game store such as EB or Gamestop qualifies for getting E3 passes?

First of all, buying a "pass" as you call it won't help you get in. The guy who said you can only pick up passes at the show is wrong; media get theirs shipped to them. I have mine sitting right next to me.

The "pass" consists of two parts, the badge and the badge holder. You can only pick up the badge holder at the show itself, with valid ID and proper documentation. So even if you buy the badge, you won't be able to get in the show because 1) your name won't match the name on the badge and 2) you can't get a badge holder.

I work for a large corporate site and can (and did) get plenty of passes for friends. I could always get extra and sell them off, but I don't for precisely the reason above: they can't get in anyway.
Besides, take this from a E3 vet: security gets tighter every single year.
ok mr e3 vet (no sarcasm), just what qualifies as being in indusrty? what job do you need to hold to be able to go?

I work for a corporation that owns one of the larger game publishers. I was able to score three passes eventually. It took a lot of correspondence, but after seven months I finally got em. If my brother doesn't want my third pass, then I might sell one when I get there. I've heard of models who work there for one day that have full duration E3 passes sell them for like $500.

As far as I know (correct me if i'm wrong) the only people who can go are either journalists, people who work for the game publishing/designing companies, the corporate bigwigs who can get whatever they want, and of course, the rich and famous.
Some other guys I know online have had a small site devoted to the GBA up for the last 3-4 years, and they've been going to E3 for the last 3 years. They also just got the info that they're invited to Nintendo's secret press conference thingy where they're first showing off the DS before showing it to the greater public. Kinda cool.

Can anyone confirm if this actually works? What exactly do you need for reentry(if I have someone elses pass and pass holder, but do not have their drivers liscense, can I get in?)

I live in LA, and would love to go to E3, but am far too cheap to pay the $300 fee to get in.
