Well, shit. That was my avenue on scoring one, and I was wondering why it was taking so long for a proper response from amazon.com to even acknowledge the preorder situation.

Looks like I'll be camping out at Target Thursday night.

It's true. The same user posted what were obviously official answers in the past, and they've also edited the PS3 product description to remove any mention of preorders.
