No sex please, we're Japanese

a friend of mine went to Japan and he was tellin me how the men there treat the women poorly. He was holding doors open for women and being polite and they were eatin it up.

i don't understand why people seem to be surprised by this. maybe it's just because mtv tells you there's something wrong with you if you don't have a girlfriend and if you are alone you are supposed to be sad.

this is what i found disturbing:

•Sex. In a 2001 survey, condom maker Durex found that Japan ranked dead last among 28 countries in the frequency of sex: The average Japanese had sex just 36 times a year. Hong Kong was next to last with 63. (Americans ranked No. 1 at 124 times a year.)

124 is the average?

A story like this was on the discovey channel not too long ago. Nothing is wrong with them, they are becoming more of a technology society. They tv show said a major conser for tis was that there are less kids being born, and their version of social security could be in trouble.

That's very true about MTV. At least America is #1 at something else.
Yall just figured out that these wopmen in japan are easy??? Maybe yall should watch full metal jacket
You may want to:
1) Read the article
2) Re-watch Full Metal Jacket
3) Look at a map
Wow. I'm planning a trip to Japan now.
I'll go with you. Wonder how many Japanese birds I could pull in a day?

I did see something on this once but it mentioned that women are part of the workforce now and there is less time for family. I guess sex is a victim of working to them. Well, as a proud American it is my duty to keep us no 1 in the sex per year department so I am off to the front.

maybe this attitude towards sex will rub off on the chinese... i mean DAMN they need to slow that population down a little

I know how to solve all of their problems...
send in the Irish Catholics.
Going back 4 generations, the nuclear family size in just my family has never been smaller than 4 on the average... and for the past 3 generations, the nuclear family size has been around 6 average.

Yep. Many may wait until marriage, but after that, it's off to the races like a bunch of rabbits on speed!

The article didnt mention the real reason Japanese are now afraid to have sex...disgusting Japanese porn!

I swear, some of the grossest porn in the world comes from Japan. Show that to a young impressionable teenager and I'm sure that would traumatize them into a life of abstinence. LMAO

hence what i said a few posts up
....
I'm sure he didn't mean any offense to you Missingdata.

I read about this in USA Today (thank you CAG!) and they had this big picture of two Japanse girls looking at clothes and each other. The caption said that many younger adults live with their parents so they have more money to go shopping, go out, etc. Glad to see they're becoming more like us everyday :p ....
I still say that Japan will rule the world with its creation of giant robots...
Who needs sex when you can have GIANT ROBOTS? And we might end up living with our parents forever, but we can have GIANT ROBOT BATTLES!
Umm....err...nm.

japan will never create giant robots...

they're too fascinated by creating robots that play soccer and suck at it.

Hey, don't go knocking the AI Soccer Tournements.
You'd be surprised at how difficult it is to program a path sensing robot that has sophisticated enough heuristics and programing to react to rapid changes and to be able to select from it's own knowledge base the best possible solution.

i have no doubt its hard... but seems kinda like a waste to me.. i mean developing something that can do that doesnt seem like a waste... just the fact that its made to play soccer...

Soccer is a good "toy application" that teaches lessons that can then be applied to real world uses.
The people setting up that competition are smarter than the US government... they're holding a competition in which the expect people to program an indepentant robot that travels from California to Nevada within the course of a couple days.... and they are offering a million dollar prize for a multi-billion dollar technology.

That's what all of the people with absolutely no foresight think... they're too dense to understand the simplicity of retasking the technology after it has been refined enough to successfully complete this toy application.
