See I knew this and I raised all hell when he was late with the money. I mean seriously, everyone knows when the first of the month is. He knows when he gets paid, but somehow the money disappears. I have a limited amount of money so I can't cover him, because I know I won't get the money his next paycheck or even before next rent. He's an irresponsible asshole.
Whose names are on the lease?
3 bedroom/2 bath 820 a month. (first 6 months half price) 1253 square feet.

My fiancee and I have the master bedroom and master bath, which seemed only logical to us, but inconsiderate dick thought he deserved all the hall closet space because he is living in such a small room... and which makes him think he deserves all the common area. My fiancee and I together make up half the rent.

It's logical that we'd get the master bedroom to split, right?
Is that 820 a person? Well yeah master bedroom to couple.
This year aint over yet (well it is but I hold out hope for a miracle). I don't know if they will change crews at the end of the year or not. I am really excited next year when Truex comes up.
My dad's excited to see Truex come up for real (on that part, so am I). I think it mostly has to do with the fact that he's a Jersey boy, so we gotta support him. Though it helps that both Jr and Truex fall into the two categories to make my dad like you:

1) Be from North Carolina or New Jersey
2) Drive a Chevy

As surprising as it is, there's only one other driver to fit in that and that's Vickers, who my dad doesn't like due to being teammates with Gordon.

Course, I just stick with my driver Tony. Can't go wrong with a guy who used to punch photographers for taking pictures of him.
Whose names are on the lease?
It wouldn't matter at my place as everyone has their own leases. So, theoretically, if lulu were a tenant at my place along with her fiance and roomies and her roomies were late with their rent, that black spot would only go on the roomies' record, not hers.
Is that 820 a person? Well yeah master bedroom to couple.
no... not per person. This is Florida, not California. It's approx 200 per person, water and sewage included.
All four of us and my father cosigned as a guarentor. :sigh:
You'll all equally be penalized on the lease, if you're all on there as lesees.

How would you make the distinction, since it sounds like Lulu is the one making the lease payment and not the dickhead roommate?

Oh that aint bad. Im looking at an apartment that is 2 bedroom 2 bath, fully furnished, all utilities paid, for 400 a month. I don't know if its great or not.

They have individual leases and thus make individual contracts. ;)

Actually it's a team effort for Jonathan and I to get the money order together. I nag everyone on the last day of the month, they make petty excuses, Jonathan proceeds to nag asshole room-mate to take him to the bank, hopefully to then drag him to his bank... this process can take anywhere for 2 days to a week.
I just write Jonathan a check so he can cash it at his bank, since my credit union is miles away. And Jonathan will get the money order. This is a tedious process. And I get stressed every 1st of the month.
Die, room-mates die.

For you, yes, it's an individual lease. Though in her case, I think it's one lease with all four names on it, which means they all get blackmarked.

Pay by money order?

What, your leasing company doesn't take your checks?

Did it? ...Shit, I gotta go pick it up this weekend.

See? My process is better. I learned this when I was in college. It's far easier to kick out ppl individually as roommates are easily replaceable but good ontime renters are not. And I know that ppl who room with friends eventually get sick of each other and are usually more than happy when their roommates get kicked out.

the problem is that is I'm the only one with checks and I can't get to my credit union to put in their money.
I have pretty checks with marine animals on them. :bouncy:

We have like 3 Amscots in the immediate area so money order is a hassle but not that bad.

It's a shame people can't just be a little more responsible. If you're renting a place, obviously you owe rent when it's due (not days, weeks or months later).

I used to do individual lease but it was 520 a month and my money was going away quickly. So I decided to move in with Jonathan, which meant getting stuck with John and Billy. I just wanted to live with him in a 1 bedroom, but no, I get stuck with inconsiderate and irresponisble because Jonathan couldn't bear letting them to fend for themselves.

That would be why when I was in the middle of my two roommates fighting with each other that I decided to do it on my own. No more of that crap for me, thanks.

Yeah, friends don't always make the best roomies. I know I've kicked out numerous tenants which their roomies usually confided in me telling them how relieved they were that they didn't have to do it. I don't mind being the 'evil landlord' sometimes and besides, I'm the one getting paid for it.

Wow, what a concept.

They give me a five day grace period and no real incentive to pay it on-time (the 1st) or early (wow, a $100 rent credit which I'd never win, since they don't like me in the office or I like them), it's 5th of the month, every month. Their rules, I'm just following it.

Wow, we get a three day grace period, I think, though we pay it on-time just to get it out of the way. It's never been a problem since it takes just 5 minutes to write up our checks, put them in an envelope and take them down to the office and drop it off in the dropbox. Though this month will be different since I'll be out of state until the 2nd of September so I have to write my have before I leave so he can drop it off.

This apartment complex as done some shitty stuff to us. I think i remarked how when I moved in last July the apartment wasn't even ready for us, the A/C was broken, the carpets weren't clean, the paint was still drying, the bathrooms were filthy. We had a severe water leak that we had to report once every other week for 5 months before anything was done about it. They'd send someone but he never could find anything wrong because they only checked under the counter not behind the counter where the carpet was soaking wet. Even though we clearly stated in our report it was making the carpet wet in the dining room. Then when that finally got done we noticed another leak in the ceiling of my room-mates bathroom, over the shower. That took another 2-3 months to get repaired and our ceiling is still not repaired nor is our carpet.
I hate the office people at my apartment.

The one caveat for that has been that if the 5th of the month falls on a weekend, they'd like it on the Friday beforehand, though I don't think they've ever bitched at me in the seven years I've lived there when I've done it on the weekend.

This is my last lease with them as it is, I've had more than my fill of their BS for one lifetime.
Christ, you think that's bad. I might be forced to move back in with my parents while I'm looking for a new house.

I've had water spot issues with them in the past for years that they fix and they come back. As well as the psychotic squirrel issues, though that's for a post all on its own.

Basically, I'm getting kicked out of my apartment due to renovations whem my lease expires at the end of september. And I've had no luck finding a house on the market. So there's no point in me moving to another apartment when I might be out of there in a month or two. So it would be easier for me to store everything at my parents and move into my new house when I eventually find one. But I would just stay in my own apartment month to month if the landlords weren't going to force me to move.

I need to move badly. But I know I'll need to move again in July because I'll be trying to get a place near the high school I get hired at. So it's best I just stick with this place until July then move.

Wow, I normally side with the landlord but in this case, I'll make an exception. That's terrible lag time between request and execution. I don't let a repair go undone more than a week (and that's usually because a disaster happened at the place and thus everyone's got problems).

well the place did have to clean up about 15 flooded apartments due to the triple hurricane, but those people were placed in other apartments... we had to live with 2 square ft of wet carpet right in a major walkway and it started molding.

Damn, the only bad thing I noticed about the apartment when I got here a year ago was that it smelled of cat piss :bomb:. It's gone now, but there's other problems that we've noticed. The vent for the AC in the hallway leaks when the AC is set on medium. Our microwave lights have been out for a few months and we haven't been able to get replacement bulbs yet. Most of my beef with the new people that bought out the apartment complex is that they're taking so damn long to get the place looking nice and back to normal working order. The pool's been closed for a few months as they've pretty much cleaned it up, though there's probably some more cleaning needed, and they're looking at companies to provide furniture and they need to revamp this pool area since the one near the office is very nice. They need to get regular cleaning crew out here every week as I'm tired of seeing dog and cat crap everywhere since their owners don't clean up after them and the people themselves just put their trash in the bushes instead of carrying them to a trash can nearby. The kids that are at the playground are just screaming all the damn time and banging on the equipment . I guess it's more of the actual people living here that piss me off moreso than the office people.

My dorm room has carpet (which it aint supposed to have) and the shower leaks making the carpet moldy and mildewy and crap. Also the Housing Department said something about there is Aspestoes underneath the carpet so they need to remove it specially. This will be the second year im in the place because we have to but I don't really care if it kills me atleast my parents will make some money off the law suit.

Don't get me started on AC issues. :bomb::bomb::bomb:

For the microwave bulb issue, fix it yourself and send them the build/withhold it from your next month's lease. Perfectly within your rights, if it's taken them that long to do nothing.

The clean-up issues, it's always worth a call to the local city hall to let them know of the sanitation violations, since it's a health hazard for dog/cat crap to be baking in the summer sun. :puke:

Sounds like TB should give away PSPs with their next promotion, since they're the bathroom time occupier of choice these days.

They came to our apartment, while we were sleeping, to replace the bulbs, but couldn't get in so we just need to call them to come back in and fix it.

As for the clean-up thing, they've been getting better in cleaning it up lately as I haven't really seem much of anything for a few weeks. Plus, they got caught with the dirty pool by the local gov't so that's forcing them to clean more often.

karsh, I've had a first class package take over a week's time to show up from here to CT. I think it was 8 or 9 delivery days before it arrived. Which ticked me off to no end, since I've had first class packages get dropped off at my PO on Saturday early afternoon and make it either coast on Monday.

I'm sure it's stuck somewhere and will surface shortly. How was it being shipped?

I don't think it's the case of someone stealing my issues to read as it's just to pick randomly what this person won't get and what that person won't get. It's also the back-up driver that's on duty when I have problems.

Yep. I'm wondering how long my 2 year sub will be extended to by the time it expires as a result of all of these lost issues.
