There is no tax on it. So since tax is 5% in my state the bundle for $419 is just like buying it in a retail store.
 
I just went into software ect and pre-oredered it in the store. It was great, I had the choice of the core or premium system, games, and accessories WITHOUT any of that bundle horse crap thats been going on.

Yes, you can pre-order just the console without bundles in the B&M stores, online they sell them in bundles. When I was in an interview for a job with EB Games, they told me that they sell the bundles online to prevent people from getting the console and going to Ebay.

Your guess is as good as mine as why this would stop people from putting up and buying bundles of off Ebay.

Back when I bought my ps2, I ordered it on ebgames with free shipping, because I wanted to save 13 on tax :p. This is when EB didnt charge tax obviously.

So it looks like one of the best options available in an high tax area.
 
Nice find as with tax it would be just about the same price here in AZ at a B&M. Still wish I could get free shipping somehow, but thats just me being really cheap!
 
If any of you ordered through RitzCamera you'd better check your order. I just checked mine online and it was cancelled. So I called them and asked. They said my credit card was fine and no problems on my end but that there was just a problem with the order so they cancelled it without even emailing me to let me know. What a bunch of bullshit. I had a feeling they'd be a pain in the ass.

That is bullshit. Maybe they are going to cancel all of these and go to bundles. Wouldnt surprise me.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see bundles soon either. It's becoming more and more common to pull these bait and switches to foster interest in their preorder. Then when they sell out the units, just relist them as bundles.

Ditto, mine is still there. They've been nothing but nice to me so far. In all reality, it seems as if 95% of the negative comments come from people wanting to pricematch or exchange/return an item. Neither applies to me, so I should be good to go.

I don't want a year of Live, PGR, or anything like that anyway, so I'm sticking with Ritz. I'll still try to walk into Wal-Mart on launch day unless Ritz already has confirmed shipping. If I end up with two 360's, I'm sure I'll be able to find a friend or family member that would want to buy it off me for retail price.

As far as being CheapAss, the Ritz package comes at about $6 under retail+tax in my state. :)

Yeah, I was about to order this and I noticed that you have to pay $12.95 for the cheapest shipping. How comes they have that huge ad on the top of their page that states free shipping for orders over $100, but don't give it to you for this?

The free shipping only applies to smaller items. I think 360 is a bit oversized.
