Non- factory sealed Resistance games at CC

I seemed to be the only guy at my local CC who noticed that the brand new Resistace Fall of Man PS3 games weren't factory shrinkwrapped. Every other PS3 game had the factory wrap but Resistance. It's easy to tell a factory wrap from a rewrap. whats up with those, are the used and being sold as new?

i think some games are sealed like that. Especially UBISOFT titles. my rayman rabbids for the wii is sealed badly. phoenix wright games are sealed like that. i think castlevania DoS. Splinter cell, Prince of persia games, and some others are sealed weird.

That's ok, I bought a copy of Ghost Recon for the Xbox from Circuit City, it was in a protective outer plastic case, got it home, it had no shrinkwrap, bastards, luckily, it was only ten bucks!

Yup. I have sealed games with the nice 'folded' factory wrap on them, and then I have some sealed games that are heat gun melted together with that melty seam along the top of the case. I think its just a case of which method the publisher decides to use.

btw, The Japanese do it right. Every PS2 import I own came in folded factory wrap with a band imbedded into the wrap that goes around the entire game case and says 'ps2 ps2 ps2 ps2 ps2 ps2' etc all around it. Makes it impossible to rewrap a game and try to pass it off as sealed.

damn, I never notice that, I have two sealed imports my friend got for me from Japan this winter. I'll have to take a closer look at them tonight.

Any idea as to why US companies stopped putting the security thingy's on their games?

I remember that every PS1 game back in the day had them. PS2 used to have them but then they stopped. I think every Xbox game had them, but not sure if every X360 game does. GC games never had them, which sucked.

^ Yeah it was a problem for Gamecube because a lot of games came from the factory with the thin shrinkwrap, a lot more than XBox or PS2 games. Plus some games came from different warehouses with both types of shrinkwrap. Some LOTR game from EA at BB had the thick folded wrap and another copy of the same game had the heatwrap but it had EA logos on the heatwrap so it was not a re-wrap.

I think Sony got rid of those security labels to cut costs, but Im not sure.

Not all PS1 games have them tho. Any recently reprinted PS1 game wont have them. All those GQD reprints dont have them. I have Super Puzzle Fighter, Buster Bros Collection, Breath of Fire III or IV (I forget) all sealed for the PS1 and none of them have that security sticker. My sealed DWVII does tho. :D
