I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.
EDIT:this is all I got. The new stuff is listed on the top. If anyone else at TRU has anything to add let me know.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

I can confirm this as well as provide almost a complete list of drops. I wasn't able to get it all because a manager came over, but here is almost all of it. A manager came by to check out the list for himself, so I couldn't write down a detailed list without getting questions so: all of these are at least $9.98. A few of the drops are $4.98, but I don't think I got any on my list, I think they were the ones I missed. Anyways:

The gift is the mini LEGO Yoda figure that came with some of these. But you'll be hard pressed to find this I think since when that game first came out it sold like wildfire...but I'm sure some people will be lucky.

I picked up a few copies of RE4 at my TRU today to gives as gifts, etc. Going back tomorrow to pick up MP:2 and Geist. Anyway, I've heard that the "Game Zone" is going to be removed from the TRU stores, and that's why they're having a blowout sale..is this true?

don't think it is true. if you think about it, sans a couple of surprising games (RE 4, DDS), most of these games are games that TRU hasn't had in a very long time, and varys from store to store.

so to re-iterate a recent post, there is another sale starting thursday/today involving the price reductions of the previous supposed games, such as Metroid Prime 2 and RE4 ect? since many were saying the price hadnt gone down for them yet, but it was supposed to today now.

According to a post on TRU's intranet that I read during my shift Wednesday night (which must has also been where ShinAkuma got his scoop), a bunch of games will be dropping to $9.98 and $4.98, effective Thursday. I posted what I was able to jot down a few posts above. ^_^

I am sure once BenBoxer gets on here, he'll be able to post a full and complete list.

I took a hike to the TRU at Eagle Ridge Mall between Haines City and Lake Wales in Florida. This has got to be one of the worst stores I've ever been in, as far as appearance. It's probably the only TRU still on the ticket system in the area, too. The place looked decimated from the Christmas shopping and never recovered. It reminded me of the scummy TRUs of my youth. :whistle2:?

In any case, the sale games were all out in shopping carts and under-the-ticket-wall bins and clearly marked. I picked up the last copy each of Ghost in the Shell, Pikmin 2, and Romance of the 3 Kingdoms X. They were pretty picked over for the good stuff, but they had a few copies of Mario Party 5, Alien Hominid and at least one copy of Viewtiful Joe 2. Nothing else I can remember that was worth mentioning.

Jeez, we just talked about this a few posts up and pages back. Baten is $30 if it has the soundtrack due to the fact TRU has its own upc on it. Baten without the soundtrack is 10$. Again, this is all due to TRU's own upc label on it. Since the soundtrack is "free" and they reshrinkwrapped the game, you can just talk to a manager and see what they will do. Sooner or later during this sale I'd assume they'd actually get the TRU barcode to ring up 10$, being that it should regardless.

Anyone with Baten notice that the game seemed to be "opened" and then the soundtrack glued to the case and then wrapped up again? Guess TRU is funny like that. Game doesn't come with the original shrinkwrap but rather a re-wrap by TRU.

So in final

Baten Kaitos w/FREE soundtrack = 30$ (due to own TRU upc)
Baten Kaitos NO soundtrack = 10$

Talk to the managers, see what happens, might luck out like I did. Maybe TRU will get with the program and just add that sku to the markdown listings -_-


spOOge - Well sorry I left that part out. I got excited because I finally got it for that price after getting no where at other places a few times before. And being that I worked there a few years ago, you kinda just say your "friends" (the ones that are) and don't really call them by manager/supervisor etc ;)

Now to go get Geist, my store is riddled with them since they never dropped ^_^

Those were the bunble ones but the regular upc was on them. I guess they removed the bundle one.
 
I got Geist, Bomberman, Metroid Prime 2.

Pokemon Leaf Green was $29.99 still...had them ring it up.
The one copy of Baten Kaitos left had the cd with it and they would not sell it to me for $9.95...I tried.

Couldn't find Justice League or Lego Star Wars to get a price check. Couldn't find Splinter Cell DS.
 
I think my store still had a few copies of Geist when I was in there last night (they still use the ticket system, but I saw a few tickets in there) so I'll have to go get that along with a few games for a couple of CAGs.

Yes, but only to 29.99, not 9.98.
 
My local TRU still had 6 copies of Geist. I didn't see Metroid Prime 2. I amazingly found a copy of Winning Eleven 8 for Xbox there. They still had one more copy of it left there.
 
Picked up a few copies of Geist for friends as well as a copy of Metroid Prime 2, Ninja Gaiden, and Bomberman DS.

This has been a great sale. Thanks to all of the OP's from TRU that have helped us out.
 
Picked up Geist for $10. Pretty sure Star Fox Assault will still ring up as $50, since all the shelf tags (including Geist and MP2) had been updated to 9.98, but Assault was still 49.99.
 
I got Baten kaitos for 10 bucks with the soundtrack. Sweet!! The guy just peeled of a sticker and scanned the other one.
I also got Geist.

They still haven't in my store. I already have BK so I really just want the extra CD, but I could still give the game to a friend of mine that hasn't played it yet.

Anybody know when they're going to reduce this? The copies I saw on the shelf were in that plastic box thing how would you get them to scan the actual game UPC? If I could figure that out the guy at the counter would probably sell it to me at that price.

Oh yeah, thanks to the info here I picked up 2 copies of MP2 and a copy of Geist...I'm almost sure they'll be all gone this afternoon, the guy that rang me up was shocked when they came up 9.98. I'm sure he's going to grab at least 2 copies of each.

For $10, yes. It's not the greatest shooter in the world, but if you're looking for one on your Cube, might as well get it. The possession aspects of it are the only really noteworthy thing, even though it could have been better. Basic FPS with a twist.

The family in front of me in line was having the cashier (the only guy in the R-Zone) take out each PSP game to take a look at it. Real informed and efficient shopping there. "What's that game?" Finally he told them to keep looking while he rang me and my one game up, which led to the dad saying "Okay, we'll probably have to look at every game."

I thought about that a few weeks ago, but maybe it's just not that popular this Holiday season. My local Walmart had about 35 PSPs and only 3 DS(blue) units when I went yesterday. That's 3 more DSs and 2 less PSPs than last week.
