I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.
EDIT:this is all I got. The new stuff is listed on the top. If anyone else at TRU has anything to add let me know.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.
EDIT 4: Because no CAG wants to pay $5 more than he/she has to, shipwreck took the liberty of putting which games are eligible for $5 rebates on PriceGrabber. For complete info on the rebates check out this thread:

EDIT 6:I found the master list which is essentially the green tag games merged with the 12/22 list. I did find some new games that will be part of the B&M sale on Monday but still no Psychonauts for Xbox.
EDIT 7:Here's the big list. You probably won't find the AO GTA San Andreas they list or most of the games with books
EDIT 8:Okay ignore my old post about Geist, Metroid Prime 2, Bomberman DS and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory not dropping to 9.98. ShinAkuma found out that they will drop to 9.98 on 12/29! Thank you ShinAkuma!!

either people are buying for XMAS or people have flocked to the TRU in fort wayne. went over today and the walls were bare... I got the last Darkstalker.

they do have the other 2 PSP games (no world scoccer)

but both of those were 49.99 each


i can risk buying a 30 buck game (darkstalker) and doing a return then buying a 50 buck game and returning it) (used cash)

nothing much left in the Gameboy ps 2 or gamecube i saw on the list..


only thing i saw on the list was GOLDEN SUN 2 GBA

i will go back THURSDAY and see if the sale is really going on. maybe they pulled a lot of these games cause on SUNDAY they had plenty of Scoccers

The prices are clearance and they are nationwide. I have our after Christmas day ad and actually you will be finding some games priced as low as 4.99. My store does not have anything left but the dc is being emptied right before inventory. Look for all stores to receive these games during the week. TRU does inventory the first week of January thru the third week of January depending on which store you are near. Also with the impending closure of 100-150 stores this is a way to get rid of those stores inventory without paying a different company to come in and liquidate. This sale is only the beginning, movies are also b2g1 the day after Christmas. Lastly, TRU is also clearancing Intec accessories and all Craig electronics. It appears TRU will be replacing Intec with Pelican and Craig is no longer being carried...

Your problem is that you used a gift receipt. Those are only good for store credit. If you would have brought back the original receipt, they would have credited the amount back to your credit card.

no what i was saying is even if i had the normal recept they would still ask who told you the games were dropping... then when you say this person.. all they have to do is call them over and they will say

I never told him the prices were dropping... so your caught in a lie

might just be me , but i would fell weird if i stood in line trying to return 20 games that i got 3 days earier thinking the prices would fell

Here's a crazy thought, if the games are still all unopened and sealed, they're legally bound (according to their return policy) to take back all the games, so what's the problem with just returning them? Besides looking like a freak or jerk to the sales people of course.

If you feel weird about it then just don't do it. It's christmas and companies like TRU, Amazon, or whoever is trying to make the best deals to clear out inventory. If you buy them earlier and then go in and price adjust, you're being a smart consumer.

It's so strange that we're beholden to some economic moral or something -- the economy is not a religion, you don't need to treat TRU or BBuy or whatever store with that level of respect. I'm not promoting lack of respect, but the feelings you guys have don't make sense. If you're worried about lying, then don't. I intend to go right in and say these items are on clearance now and I want to do a price adjustment. Believe me, those people appreciate those who are just plain frank about it.

I just came back from TRU, and from my long list of games I selected from the first post, I managed to find only 3 (Resident Evil 4, Pikmin 2, Killer 7), but those 3 games are good enough for me, and it was probably the highest number of games I was going to pick up anyway. I'm sure there are plenty of available copies of titles from the first post, but I really didn't pay attention to them, just the ones I wanted.

Yep. All you need is the receipt. It may help if you have the games with you, but the receipt alone should be enough.

I should probably mention that I hit six different Toys R Us stores to be able to locate the items on my list, and bought my stuff at four different stores. I bought about 3 items per store. I did not pick up something unless I really wanted it, either for myself or as a present, and I only picked it up if there wasn't really a chance of it still being there Thursday morning. For previous deals I have missed out entirely, so since I have the available credit card balance to cover it and the time to go out searching, I figure I might as well pick up some presents for myself, since I won't be getting much from other people for Christmas.

Worse case scenario in this deal is I end up going to four different stores and returning 3 items at each store. If they have a problem returning three items for me, oh well.

I've had no problems buying at one and returning at another. If sales tax differs between the two stores, they give you tax based on the returning store, not the buying store. At least this has been how the Chicago TRUs do it in my experience.

Thanks for the confirmation sren. So it looks like we will still get a few days to shop before the general public knows about the sale, other than stumbling upon marked down games, if this isn't out till a Christmas ad. Thursday night should be interesting.

Damanthia, that bit about the tax on returns is illegal on TRU's part. Unless it works in your favor, I would speak up about it. They can manually enter the tax rate of the purchase store since it says it right on your receipt. TRU is making money off your purchase if they return your item with a lower tax rate. I've purchased items from TRU in Phoenix, AZ and returned them to TRU's in California. There is almost a 1% tax difference from my location in California and Phoenix. I live in the Bay Area and it seems every goddamn county (and sometimes City) has it's own tax rate, so I always make sure I get the correct return tax rate.

Sorry, that's really far from me, I live in queens and work in mid-town. I do know that Conker, Doom 3, Halo 2 LE, DBZ Sagas, and Sid Meiers Pirate and a few other titles are still at the 42nd st TRU (Just went there to see if they had Tekken 5) and the one by me in queens still has a good amount of stuff too. All in all, I think the selection is still pretty good in NYC. I only went to these two out of convenience, it's not worth driving or going out of my way just for a $9.99 game. And especially with this stupid transit strike today, I'm definitely not going to anymore TRU's.

FYI, Ninja Gaiden is gonna be really hard to find since black came out, and for that matter, check ebay prices, some of these games are actually just as cheap or cheaper than $9.99 with ebay prices (including the shipping! I got a pristine mint ninja gaiden on ebay for $8 2 weeks ago with $3 shipping and with that paypal Christmas shopping code, I only paid $9 out of pocket).

I was able to pick up Digital Devil Saga 1, Mr. Driller Drill Spirits, & Samurai Western today. These were the three main games I was looking for, so I'm pretty happy about that. I wasn't even planning on going to TRU today, but I decided to swing by and I couldn't pass these up. After rebates, I'm looking at about $20 out of pocket for those three games. Not bad at all.

The Kenwood, OH location still has 2 DDS1's left, 1 Mr. Driller left, and 3-4 Samurai Western's left for anyone who is interested.

If they do not price match for you then you have a really bad TRU, but if that is the case. Don't open the games till Thursday. If they don't price match, return the games unopppned, then rebuy them at their new lowered price. If they want to be jerks about it, so can you.

I probably won't be going back to that TRU, but if I see either of those games at a different TRU on Thursday, I'll pick them up. And yes, it is the big deluxe edition of DDS1 that is going to be on sale (it's the only version).
