I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

EDIT 6:I found the master list which is essentially the green tag games merged with the 12/22 list. I did find some new games that will be part of the B&M sale on Monday but still no Psychonauts for Xbox.

So, just got back..my take....

-If you find the "empty box" on the shelf, and it's one you really want...better go up and confirm they have it and claim the actual copy...I did this for psychonauts (another guy grabbed the two empty boxes, so I went up and simply asked for the two actual copies behind the counter..I bet he is going to be peesed!)

-I priced matched no problem. I asked about this and the woman originally said no, "only if it is an advertised price". So, I corrected myself and said "price adjustment..if it drops can I get the diff?" and she said sure, she just "returned" the games at full price and then re-sold them to me and new price.

Anyone know if Area 51 for PS2 is "in the mix"? They had copies but I passed, but that might have been a mistake (I know from the great CC $5 sale a few years back, there were lots of games marked down I never saw on any "list").

Did you actually get $3 back?
I think the $6.65 means that is the price you will get if you return without a receipt. Pikmin 2 shows up as $0, probably because its free with GC purchases. Once they put in your receipt price, you should only get matched up to 9.98. At least thats what happened with me.
 
If anybody manages to snag a copy of Haunting Grounds or Samurai Western they would like to exchange for another title, let me know.

Mayfield Heights TrU on SOM was pretty picked over. Plenty of copies of Killzone and four Zelda Four Swords in the case. Bunches of Pikmin 2 as well.

Stopped by early on the way out, my TrU is right by a Dunkin Donuts I frequent, so it was no extra trip. Grabbed Pirates! (Xbox), Killer 7 (PS2), Pariah (Xbox), MSlug 4&5 (PS2). Four titles was my limit, and I already own others such as RE4.

There were some Psychonauts PS2 available, but unlike Killer 7, I'm not willing to settle for the PS2 version of that game, regardless of price.

And unfortunately, the main target I was interested in--Conker--was not available at my TrU.

When I left the West Broad Columbus, OH location at around 8:30 there were still 3-4 RE4's and 3-4 Zelda Four Swords left, but they were going fast and there seemed to be a pretty steady stream of gamers heading back to the R-Zone. They don't have any DDS1, Area 51 (Xbox), Metal Slug Advance, Advance Wars 2, Mario Pinball, Romance of the 3 Kingdoms IX or X, Mario Partys, Killzone, etc...

I'm sure there will be some games left when you get there, but a lot of the stuff everyone is looking for is gone.
 
Only store I went to was the one in St. Ann, MO at Northwest Plaza, as I thought I won't have much time to go looking, save before work today.

I found single (and that was it) copies of most of the items I was looking for, which was odd, since the place looked like it was sacked by a rampaging horde of barbarians. Either that, or they were collecting games to make something more reasonable to look through. Either way, was a bit scarce.

Yes, got the $3 on like 20-35 games.

I went to price adjust the games I pre-bought, and they were ringing up as 6.65 other than 9.99. So I got $3 back on all those. So then, I got to thinking, "The games I just bought for 9.99 whileI was in the store price-adjusting might be 6.65 as well!!"

So I went to the CS desk again, and had her price adjust those too. Almost all of them were 6.65.

Bottom line: If you go buy games today, after your purchase, go to the customer service desk and price adjust them.

they will not automaticall ring up as $6.65? I am confused. If I buy today they will be 9.99 or 6.65?

Everything I had price-adjusted just went down to $9.98, so this is going to be YMMV.

Same thing with me, I just didn't buy out the store. Though I did look for stuff other wanted, but nobody asked me about re4. There was quite a few just sitting there, and I bought it many moons ago

We're Nintendo fans, so I snagged Four Swords, Fight Night 2, Pikmin 2, Wario Ware, and Pokemon Channel. It was hard to resist all the others.

Also, Def Jam 2: FFNY (xbox) did not ring up at promo 9.xx, but promo 29.xx. Anyone get this?

I almost passed it up for this reason as well, but I couldn't pass it up as a good stocking stuffer for my wife. As long as the excellent writing and humor is intact, all is good.

Ok, it could be YMMV, but it worked for me.

I took my bag of pre-bought games in to price-adjust to 9.99. They came out to 6.65. So I went and bought a bunch of games, then took them to the CS desk, and price adjusted those too. Most went down to 6.65.

You buy them at 9.99, then go to CS to PA to 6.65. Here is the list that worked for me:

So was my TRU the only one that got 360's in today? They were just selling them in $600 bundles.

Interesting on the $6.65 info, I gotta get the price adjusted on the RE4 I bought yesterday so I'll take back the receipt from my purchases today and see what they can do for me.

These weren't the 'highly sought after' games, so I'm hoping somebody's store has these and they can or did pick them up!
 
The TRU employees at my store had NO idea this was going on. I gave them copies of my list so they can get some too. I think I saw a fellow CAGer there, but not sure. Anyway, I made a lot of friends today at TRU!
 
I was able to snag Metal Slug Advance and Racing Gears Advance. I tried Batman Begins PS2, but it rang up $29.95. I guess you need the one with the movie ticket to get that price. I will try another store at lunch.

FYI - there's still a ton at the Greenwood TRU in Indianapolis.
