I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

This was at the TRU in Portland, ME:
Alright guys, here’s my haul…mind you I picked up games for my two roomates/other friends because they were all busy and I had nothing to do at 8AM so I was nice enough to pick up games for everyone:

Winning Eleven 8 (x1) – for myself
Digital Devil Saga 1 (x2) – 1 for myself and 1 for my girlfriend (she loves Nocturne)
Champions of Norrath (x1) – for 1 of my college roomates
Romance of the Three Kingdoms X (x3) – 1 for me and 1 for each of my roomates

Psychonauts (x1) – for 1 of my friends
Final Fantasy I&II (x1) – for 1 of my roomates

I bought some other games to test out and see how much I could get for them at my local Bull Moose and here were the results:

Also, I tried to buy DBZ: Budokai for a friend but it rang up as $19.99 and since I paid with a check I have to wait a week to get my money back unless I want store credit…anyone else run into a problem like this?

P.S. I also went to check out KB and they were cleaned out of GBA games and they only had a few crappy PS2 games left…however when I walked in they were scanning the last two VALUE DEAL BOXES that they had full of PSX games to see if it came up as part of the buy 1 get 1 free sales…and low and behold it did! So I also snagged the last 2 boxes of these PSX games for $5 total for both of them.

Ditto, I was surprised. FF 1&2 and F-Zero GBA were plentiful, I thought the FF might be hard to find. Bought an FF 1&2 for myself and an extra one to either use as a gift or sell. Nothing else on sale really interested me.

thats my store and i seen a good handful when i went twice! I checked a few days ago and they didnt even stock some titles you mention. I had to order DOA:U online.
 
I luckily got Metal Slug 4&5 and Dark Cloud 2. Other than those nothing of worthwhile mention at my store. The only game I didn't get that I want was DDS 1.

Got RE4, Final Fantasy 1 & 2, Sonic Adventure 1 DX & Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (bundle), and Fight Night Round 2 (remember it has Super Punch Out). I had previously purchased RE4 a few days ago because thats really all I was interested in, but after I had the price adjusted I decided to get some more games. The Sonic Bundle is a really good value at 9.98 as most of you know. However I was looking for a Monkey Ball Bundle and did not see any left, they must have been picked clean. Anyone looking to sell one let me know I'll pay 15 shipped.

Well, it's too late now.

Basically if you bought the games before today and at full price, you could take your receipt back today and get a refund of the difference. So if you bought Resident Evil 4 for $50 on Saturday, you could've gone back today and got $40 back (if you had your receipt).

You just go up to the customer service center and tell them you want a price adjustment.
 
My local TRU (Johnson City NY) claims to know nothing about this. They have no games. Seriously. Right now there are maybe 15 ps2 titles in the store. Maybe. Anyways the clerk knows me and rang through Mr. Driller on the DS but it was $29.99 plus tax. Any theories as to why?
 
*Price Adjustment update*

I tried to go buy another copy of Ghost in the Shell tonight, after price adjusting it down to 6.65 earlier today. I got a different lady at the CS desk, and she was unable (or unwilling) to get it down to 6.65. Either the deal was YMMV depending upon the employee you deal with, or it was a real glitch and they caught it. Or, it just stopped with this one game. Hit five TRUs in two states. By the fourth store I had picked up every game I wanted (and some I didn't know I wanted) except Digital Devil Saga. Fifth TRU was in the not-so-good part of town. Store was very busy, but as luck would have it, four copies of DDS were just sitting on the shelf, no one paying any attention to them.
 
is there a reason why Dynasty Warriors 5 wasnt coming up as 9.98 for me yet some people here claimed to have gotten it?


edit: nm, just researched and i guess there are two dynasty warriors 5, extreme legends must be a sequel or something
 
I went to 4 TRU's today and I couldn't find Dynasty Warriors 5 for the PS2. Sucks too because the last one I went to and waited in line for about 30-45 mins because I saw 7 of them behind the counter. When I got there, they were all display cases. They even looked in the back and no luck.

I did get lucky though, I got DDS (last copy), Sid:pirates, Karaoke Revolution, Pariah, Project Snowblind, Killzone and KOF:Impact.

This morning, the places I went to had these copies of Pirates. I figured since I seen this game came up a couple of times, might as well let you know where.

There was no pikmin 2, Tekken 5 and Metal slug 4/5.

Nice to hear from a fellow NY CAGer! That Times Square TRU has been a madhouse this week, with the holidays coming up and the strike. I was able to get a lot of stuff though...Fatal Frame 2 XB, Conker XB, Haunting Ground PS2 (they had 2 when I was there 2 days ago), etc. They still have a copy of Death By Degrees there as of tonight if you want to go back and grab it. Also, still lots of copies of Pikmin 2 there...
 
Hey, anybody who ordered Dead to Rights for the PSP last night get a shipping confirmation yet? I ordered it just after it came available last night with Darkstalkers and I got the Darkstalkers confirmation and I got a backorder for Dead to Rights!
 
I went to my TRU about 3 hours after it opened, and the clearance games hadn't been touched. I was able to pick up a copy of Resident Evil 4, Pariah, and Final Fantasy I&II Dawn of Souls.

My TRU had about a dozen copies of RE4 and about 40 of Doom 3. If I had more money I would have picked up a copy or two for some CAGs, but I'm pretty much broke right now.
 
So am i correct in assuming that STAR OCEAN 3 is part of this deal? Any confirmations? If so, I hope my local TRUs still have copies left come tomorrow....
 
Well, I tried to get a price adjustment on the stuff I snagged earlier. All I got were confused looks and a "Price adjust to what?" Some of you guys must have really dumb store clerks in your area.
 
I passed up metal slug 4/5 ...grrrr forgot it was part of deal... but I did pick up a mario dance mix used at gamestop for $45 and and xbox 360 premium

Tell them you bought these games and since then the price has dropped, and you want to get the difference back. Not hard. Seeing as how I haven't seen a single post where there was any problems doing this (aside from one or two employees who wouldn't do it), maybe YOU have some stupid clerks, or it sounds like you didn't explain it. If you're just going up and telling them you want to get a price adjustment, they're obviously not going to know what you're talking about.

yes it was green taged as $19.99 & the clerk said this wasn't on sale, BUT I insisted he scan it & it came up as $9.99

In my case the manager refuse to do price adjust or buy/rebuy.

Yaeh, I can confirm as well that the Xbox version isn't part of the sale. Tried it out at mine just in case (again I missed out on everything damn hoarders.) but it scanned at the normal price.

So the people that bought games for $9.98 went to the counter, handed them the receipt, and asked for the difference? So tell me, how do I convince customer service that I should only be paying $6.65 because some other guys on an online forum are only paying that much? It's in their system at $9.98, it's on my receipt at $9.98. There's no reason for the price to drop to $6.65. Am I missing something? Believe me, I'd love to save the extra $3 per title, but I don't know what exactly I could do differently.

I believe him because I almost got my 10 that I was adjusting for this price!

fuck the clerk was a nice guy but he didn't have a clue. As he tried to adjust them, he said all it will do "is take $6.65 off" on Metal Slug . . . had him try another . . . it will "take $6.65 off."

At that point, I didn't know if the sale was real (very early in the morn). So, I went and bought a few games at $9.98. Then I went back and had him return the games and re-ring my 10 games at $9.98.

I could've had them for $6.65!!!!!

From my understanding of it, all you have to do basically is go to the price adjuster and say, I heard that these games had been lowered in price and if you could check it out and then they should either input the individual numbers or just scan the receipt to see if it is so.

Are you sure? I think some of the old BB/CC threads fattened at a faster and larger rate if I remember correctly. Damn I miss those old $5 days, although this sale absolutely rules

This is obviously over your head. They bought at FULL PRICE, and PA'd down and got them for $6.65.

Last BB clearance thread was 2700 posts over the course of a month. Probably pretty similar to this one, but considering the quality and availability of games was much better in this sale, it'll probably end up being bigger.
 
I am SOOO pissed.

I got Halo 2 Limited Edition but it was already open, not caring I popped it in and started playing. The thing crashes after the first mission, then I look and there are scratches on the bottom!!!!
