I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.
EDIT:this is all I got. The new stuff is listed on the top. If anyone else at TRU has anything to add let me know.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

EDIT 6:I found the master list which is essentially the green tag games merged with the 12/22 list. I did find some new games that will be part of the B&M sale on Monday but still no Psychonauts for Xbox.

Yaeh I'm pretty sure. It was in the good ol' days of the OTTs. I'm not saying that the OTTs now are bad or anything, for all my fellow OTTers, but that they seem a bit lacking compared to what they once were. They have lost a bit of their allure to me.

Also, the only thread that probably could compare to this thread is the classic CC $5 clearance extravaganza summer sale of yore. That one had one thread with 96 pages and then another one with 89 or something after two mergers.
 
Scanned DDR Extreme's UPC code and it was $39.99. I guess it is only for the one with some CD attached. I have never seen it before and didn't think it even existed because every TRU I have been to over the past few months that had the CD, had it loose in the glass case or on the shelf and not actually bundled with the game.
 
would someone be willing to hook me up with a Resident Evil 4 from one of the TRU that had a bunch? i went to my local TRU and they were completely wiped out of almost all games. much apreciated

I'm particularly happy about that last one because it will make for fine trade material with fellow CAGers who can help me out on the titles I missed out on.

In addition, I spent a good amount of time reorganizing the PS2 and XBox sections while I searched for a handful of hidden titles. To whomever was hoping to hide games for later, a bit of advice...

1) That trick does not work on Display Cases, since the items are behind the cashier and do not require Display Cases to be purchased. It simply wastes time.

2) Hiding Display Cases also doesn't work when the games available are alphabetized on the store shelves. Nope, doesn't work!

3) Attempting to hide games in other sections tends to be quite obvious. A PS2 game amongst DS titles...that's not really hiding anything, is it?

4) Throwing sections into complete disarray usually tends to make people look more, especially when the overall stock is minimal. If we're talking about EB with 400 odd titles, sure, nobody will care, but out of around 50 unique titles on the shelves? Sorry, we're going to look.


I apologize if your hidden stash dwindles but, hey, let's level the playing field so everyone can play, eh?

lol that 5 dollar sale was awesome.

These sales have increased my game collection over the last two years. Thats for sure.
 
i got tekken 5 at my store. alot of the games were still there. i might pick up ffdos.. i dont think its worth the money tho

I went to 3 freaking TRUs in my area and out of all the things i was looking for the only thing i was able to find was fatal frame 2 for xbox. Oh well i guess its better than nothing. I hope you guys are are having better luck than me :p

Note he said $9.99 about four times. If they rang up at .98 ending, that's what they are. .98 is a variable price point.

Hit a ToysRUs by work in the morning and snagged some games. They still had quite a few titles left that I didn't have any interest in, but people seemed to have cleaned out all of the games I was looking for. After work, I went to another ToysRUs and still couldn't find most of the games I wanted, just a bunch of games I didn't want.

At the 2nd store, I picked up a few Xmas presents, so the trip wasn't a complete waste. As I was checking out, I heard some kid bragging about all the games he bought... he had a bag that was just full of games, like 3-4 copies of everything he could get his hands on basically. He must have hoarded a bunch of the popular titles minutes before I arrived... little bastard.

Anyway, for those that are still looking, the following games were either highly sought after, or they just didn't have many in stock (I could not find any of these):

Tekken 5 PS2 (ton of 'display' boxes at both stores, no actual games)
Dynasty Warriors 5 PS2 (had been in stock, but all gone)

I did have some trouble at one store: They pulled all of the cheap games and stored them behind the counter. Their reasoning was that the sale wasn't unitl Saturday. I still managed to get a couple of games after a short conversation with the manager.
BTW...all of the 3 TRU that I visted today had NO idea about the sale until this morning (two of them didn't know until I started buying them).

Went to the Bay Shore and Sunrise Mall (NY) locations, and generally did well. Someone grabbed my hidden Conker (foiled!), but I picked up these:

I passed up a few games, including Pariah, Project Snowblind, and FF 1/2. I was really hoping to find Psychonauts, but no luck, and I found out that the XB version is NOT on sale. I'm sure it was mentioned earlier in this thread, way back. Man this thread got huge.

The Sunrise location had some of the new 9.98 prices tagged in the aisles. Nonetheless, neither of the cashiers had any clue that this sale was going on.

I'm not trying to be a total prick, but you've been awful condescending without good reason. Honestly, I had inquired about the price adjustment earlier because it made no sense to me, given the information posted. I'm glad some people got an even better deal, but it must've been some strange YMMV glitch or some weird store clerks because it didn't work for me and a lot of others. Maybe I'll have better luck in the future.

Guys, tell me I'm wrong, but... 10 dollar games. Take it to Circuit City to Price Match (hopefully they sell it for 50, that 10% difference = 4 dollars). Then use that Price Grabber reviewer deal... Games for 1 dollar + tax ? Sounds like it would work? For some games at least?
 
I hit TRU shortly after it opened. There was a guy there with a list, and a big stack of games in his arms. I thought, "Damn, I'm too late." Turned out he was an employee, and just didn't have his vest on. He was pulling all the games to put into those stupid bins. So, after sifting through the bins, I came up with 2 of the 4 games I wanted, Pikmin 2 and Psychonauts. Not too shabby, because my hopes weren't high that I would find anything. Thanks Benboxer for the heads up :).

If you get someone stupid... maybe. I dunno, for some of these amazon games, it could work, but you're not gonna have an ad that lists the price of all of these games. On top of that, this is a clearance, and I'm sure some retailers have rules against PMing those.

Just to save you some time, don't bother with the one in Huntington Station for Psychonauts. XBox-only and regular price. I almost shed a tear when they had no more Psychonauts left.

You may want to consider the one by Roosevelt Field, right next to the Macy's Furniture Store and in the same lot as Apple Bank, Linens and Things, and Vincent's. The only problem is that, with previous sales, that store usually has crap for stock. If you make the trip, though, best of luck! It tends to be quite a crowded TRU so YMMV and such!

Woot, went there tonight to get prices adjusted.
I wasn't too sure on my Super Monkey Ball combo cause it was shrinkwrapped with a big yellow sticker on it and not those cool combo boxes, turns out it still works :D. Along with that, I got RE4 and F-Zero GX adjusted.

Then I took a browse, got a copy of madden 05, and looked around some more. I've seen a few copies of Killer 7, GBA F-Zero, and some other oddball titles. The store was in disarray though.

Dont get ur hopes up on that price match thing. I tired a price match and use some kind of other coupon/discount thing at bestbuy and they dont take any coupons once u price match. It is circuit city so they could have a different policy but like i said dont get ur hopes up.

Sweet idea, but I think most stores refuse to match 'clearance' prices as part of company policy. But hey, it's worth a shot.

Sunrise was a pain, but then again, it was when I went to do the Green Tag + B2G1 Free sale. It's probably because its a TRU and a CC right across from each other. I mentioned this before, I actually bought the XB Psychonauts hoping that it would drop as well, but it looks like I'll be making a return next week.

Thanks for the advice... its a bit far of a drive for me, and aside from a couple of games, I'm pretty happy with my haul. There's still plenty at the Bay Shore TRU, and I may go back tomorrow to pick up Batman Begins with the coupon mentioned on p. 111.

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms series is an aquired taste, it's complicated and at times boring, but if you like micro-management and Asian history then you will likely enjoy it.

Samurai Western is a straight foward hack n' slash game. Decent for what it is.

Keep in mind RoTKX trades in for $27 at Gamerush.
