I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

Mainly, because I also buy tons of used games from Blockbuster and GameStop and EB and hate when I get a game that's all banged up. Now I'm at the point where I won't even buy an XBOX game at Blockbuster unless its in a green case, cuz I know the previously rented black case ones will be scratched to hell and missing all the manuals.
 
I went to my second TRU an hour ago. Most of the good games are gone. I snagged a FF 1 & 2 and a few Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 Limited Editions (with the ball).

DRAGON BALL Z BUDOKAI FANS: The Limited Edition one is the only one on clearance. Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 is still $19.99.

That's really odd. Maybe it's a special franchise that can set its own sales and pricing? I ran into a problem like this with a FYE in a mall. They wouldn't honor a MIR offer on the Lost DVD since being in a mall makes them different or something.

I believe there were a couple of extras in the store near me.
 
Picked up RE4, Killer 7, FF:DoS, and Psychonauts this morning at the 300 Lexington in Plano, TX. They still had a ton of DoS and RE4, but a fellow CAG grabbed the last Psychonauts and Killer 7.
 
One of the TRUs i went to wouldnt price adjust, said it had to be an item in an Ad(their ad, no confusion there). They went ahead and called their manager too, who backed them up. I didn't feel like arguing, so ill just go back to the same TRU that Price adjusted me earlier twice today.
 
I went to the TRU in Peabody, MA today and they didn't have squat for PSP games. None in stock. Though I did grab the last 2 Darkstalkers for PSP for the 9.98. I also got 4 Resident Evil 4's for GC. Anyone interested in trading or buying them let me know.

Had to go up to Concord Mills (NC) to do some Christmas shopping with my uncle today. Had him stop at TRU first. RE4 sold out quickly earlier in the morning (got there about 11 am). So I just picked up:

They had a few more games, but I did not want to go overboard. Told my wife that I did not find RE4. So after she got off of work, went to the mall, etc etc etc, she decides to go look for it. Damn if she didn't come home with a copy. :bow: Must have been around 8 pm when she went by there. Think she said that there was one left. So thxs to whoever left the extra(s). This was the TRU on Two Notch in Columbia, SC.

A few things i noticed/used at my TRU's today:


1) YOU HAVE TO LOOK IN THE GLASS CASE FOR GAMES!!!!!! Example: they didn't have a Pikmin 2 game display case but in the glass case where they keep the actual games there were 10+ availible. FYI, this was at the Federal Way, WA TRU.

2) $5 off $25 coupon. Used about 8 of these today. Got it from the "2 for $30 DS games at TRU" post.

3) 2-pack of Star Wars Ps2 controllers for $4. They're suppose to glow while your using them. Intec.

4) Intec Mini racing wheel for Xbox. $3.

5) You get a free Psp starter kit when you buy ANY psp game. This is in the weekly ad.

6) $5 off ALL Dragonball z games.This is in the weekly ad.

Thanks Sigma, I appreciate your feedback. I've thought about trying the Romance series before, but I just never got around to it. It does seem interesting to me though. I guess I can't go wrong for $10.

I'll keep your comments in mind as I check out some reviews.
 
here's an idea for people looking to get some of these games for reeeeeeally cheap, although it's doubtful if it would even work. take your TRU reciept with all the games on it for 9.98 over to circuit city or sears and offer up the reciept as proof of price and the games being in stock and maybe, if the cashier is nice/dumb enough, they'd PM it. for games that are 50, that'd come down to about 4-5 dollars. actually, that sounds like a horrid plan. but this thread is already so ridiculously long, no point in NOT posting it.

After playing it for an hour....DBZ Saga's kinda sucks. Insanely repetitive and not fun. They should have taken at least the basic fighting ability from thier fighting series, and just made a beat-em-up that way. At least i get my money back and then some at Gamerush.

Klona 2 for GBA is a great bit of fun, even if they force a compleetely pointless story down our throats. Neat special stages too.
 
At the Tallahassee TRU,
I got to my TRU about a hour after it opened. I price adjusted my 5 "must have" games I bought two days earlier with no problems. When I went to find some games, there was already quite a few people around the bin, to my surprise. Didn't make too great of a haul tonight. Added Mario Pinball to my cart online, but decided to wait till after work so I could see if it was in store. Of course, it wasn't in store, and by the time I got online, it was OOS. My TRU was pretty cleaned out; Psychonauts was there, but only for XBox, and they had none of the GBA games I was looking for. Ended up with just Doom 3, but might head back tomorrow for Dead to Rights 2.

Is this a permanent price drop to move this stuff out? Just curious as I'll be home for the holidays, and might get a chance to check out another TRU the day after Christmas. I'm sure it'll be slim pickings, but what the hell? Worth a shot.
 
Benboxer, I want to give you a big THANK YOU for posting this.

Last week I bought a copy of Digital Devil Saga 1, before you even posted the sale. After seeing it listed as one of the games being price dropped, I was able to take it back to TRU and get a price adjustment on it. That's about $40 you saved me! And its about $40 I'm going to be spending on more videogames for me and my family!

That's what happened to me, and on top of that, they told me that if they price adjusted it, the price would actually be higher and I would have to pay them. :roll:
 
Couldn't make it physically to any of the TRUs in Houston or Costa Mesa so I had to rely on the online sales shown on the front pages. Sadly I missed on a ton of good games like Metal Slug 4/5 and RE 4 for PS2 ><

Went to my 2 Toys R Us at 8:30PM and 10:30PM respectively. I didnt think i had a chance to get any of the games on the list

Both stores had most of the list games in stock(didnt/couldnt find any RE4 or DDS or Advanced Wars 2 but everything else appeared to be there.

Oh, that sucks.

I'd try taking it back to another TRU. Also, if they employees give you shit about price adjustments, just say you want it on a store credit/gift card. For some reason they are so picky about having to actually give out cash. And believe me, getting a store credit back is better than nothing.

I picked up psychonauts but I don't have it. I didn't really care (Was one of the ones I picked up to sell on ebay to pay off the games I bought for myself) but it's aggravating. I don't remember her saying they didn't have it (it was a display copy), but it's either that or she forgot to give it to me.
 
Oh I forgot to mention that they tagged me twice for the Bust A Move DS.

Then they said they couldn't fix it and that I'd have to go to customer service to do that.

Then I figure out that they didn't refund the tax on the game they charged me for that I didn't purchase. I am NOT a happy camper right now. Not only did I not get the one game I really wanted, but they tried to get away with charging me for a game I didn't get. Then not refunding the tax on that. ARGH!

Isn't that illegal or something? =/

I'd like to thank benboxer for posting this. Between my boyfriend, myself, and a few Christmas presents, there are now 36 new games in my house. I posted my full haul over in the stories thread, if anyone cares.

The first store I went to was around 2pm. I was told that they were still trying to get everything put out at that time. The people who rushed the store didn't want to wait, so I got a few extra goodies thanks to their impatience.
